Chapter 83 - Chapter 82: The Truth of the Past

Mace Tyrell was very displeased upon hearing that Mufasa, this yellow-haired brat, was about to join the Small Council.

He, the dignified Duke of Highgarden, hadn't even joined the Small Council yet? What virtue and ability did Mufasa possess to join?

"Everyone, I apologize for the interruption!" Mace spoke. Everyone else had no choice but to look at him.

"Highgarden, including the entirety of The Reach, can provide food supplies to the Seven Kingdoms Coalition Army. At this critical moment, we need to establish a temporary Wartime Council to replace the Small Council and command all affairs of the Seven Kingdoms. What do you all think?"

Mace Tyrell's suggestion made sense. Wartime conditions differ from daily life, necessitating changes.

"Ser Mufasa, what do you think of my proposal?" Mace Tyrell looked toward Mufasa.

"Uh, why did you call on me so suddenly? But Lord Mace's suggestion is excellent! We should at least select a few people from the major front-line families and renowned generals across the Continent of Westeros!" Mufasa said.

"Let's leave this issue for discussion tomorrow! Mufasa, tomorrow you will attend the Small Council meeting with Lord Mace!" King Robert finally said.

After leaving the Tower of the Hand, Mufasa did not immediately go to Margaery to retrieve the statue; he temporarily forgot about it.

Mufasa found Tywin and his three sons. In Tyrion's card room, Tywin, Kevan, Jaime, and Tyrion were playing cards—specifically, mahjong.

"Mufasa, you're here!" Jaime said, glancing back.

"You take over, I've already lost five rounds!" Jaime complained.

Mufasa swapped places with him.

The group discussed issues while playing cards.

"Grandfather, why didn't you attend the banquet at the Tower of the Hand?" Mufasa asked.

"Do you think Eddard Stark would send me an invitation?" Tywin sneered.

"He didn't send you one?" Mufasa asked.

"No! House Stark and House Lannister have deep conflicts; currently, they are just conflicts, not hatred." Tywin said.

"Is it because you massacred the city back then?" Mufasa asked.

"To be precise, I merely ordered a general slaughter; I did not massacre the entire city." Tywin said.

Mufasa suddenly thought of something, looked around at the others, and then asked.

"Grandfather, there are no outsiders here. Can you tell me the truth? Did Rhaegar's son and daughter truly die back then?"

Tywin froze, and the tile, the Three of Ten Thousands, dropped from his hand.

"What do you think? Did I fail to kill the Dragon Family Remnants?" Tywin asked in a deep voice.

"After all, you didn't do it yourself, did you? Rhaegar's wife certainly died, but did his daughter and son truly die? Could they have been swapped?" Mufasa said.

"And what if they were swapped?" Tywin asked.

"Haven't you heard of 'The Wild Cat for the Crown Prince'? Let me enlighten you!"

Mufasa then recounted the strange tale from the era of the Blazing Song Dynasty in Tianshui.

"That is truly fascinating! A prince who was lost outside can still become king." Tywin laughed.

"I wonder who is stronger, me or that Imperial Cat Zhan Zhao?" Jaime said, stroking his chin.

"Kevan, go find The Mountain. I need to ask him about what happened back then." Tywin said.

Ser Kevan immediately left the card room, and after a long time, he returned with The Mountain.

"Lord Tywin!" The Mountain greeted him.

"The Mountain, tell me, when King's Landing fell, did you kill Rhaegar's wife and children? Tell me the truth."

Although Tywin's voice sounded no different from usual, The Mountain felt a pressure—the pressure of a superior. It was the pressure of a top-tier great noble, spanning thousands of years.

This was terrifying for a commoner noble like him. House Mountain was merely dog breeders in his father's generation. The Mountain's father saved Tywin's Father with three hounds, which is why he was granted minor nobility.

"My Lord, what happened back then was actually very simple! I killed an infant, a child, and a princess!" The Mountain said.

"Did you personally see what they looked like? What color was their hair?" Tywin asked.

"I recognized Princess Elia, but those two children had black hair, a Dornish appearance." The Mountain said.

"What? Impossible!" Jaime exclaimed.

"I personally saw Rhaenys and Aegon. Rhaenys had a Dornish appearance, with black hair, but Aegon had the look of the Targaryen Family, with silver hair."

After all, The Mountain had not interacted much with Rhaenys and Aegon. He had only seen them right before he killed them.

"In other words, The Mountain, you let a Remnant of the Evil Dragon escape, didn't you?" Tywin asked.

The Mountain was so terrified he knelt on the ground, begging Tywin for forgiveness. Although he was immensely strong and feared no one, not even Robert, facing Tywin filled him with genuine dread.

"Tell me, how should I punish you, Ser Mountain? If Robert found out you let a remnant of the evil dragon escape, he would surely send you to The Wall to join the Nights Watch." Tywin said coldly.

"However, considering your past merits, I will let you off this time!"

"Thank you, My Lord, for sparing my life!" The Mountain said gratefully.

After The Mountain left, the Five Lannister lions continued discussing their next steps.

"Even if the Seven Kingdoms Coalition Army is truly formed, the supreme commander will certainly be Robert. But we can definitely contend for positions like Quartermaster, Vanguard Commander, and Military Supervisor." Tywin said.

"So, next we need to establish good relations with the other major families and then make them concede, is that right?" Mufasa asked.

"Exactly!" Tywin replied.

Next, Mufasa revealed that he had learned how to forge a valyrian steel sword.

All four men widened their eyes in shock.

"Are you saying you can recreate the lost technique of the valyrian steel sword?" Kevan asked.

"This technique was never truly lost; it has always been passed down among the blacksmiths of Qohor. It was only the lack of Dragonflame and magic that made it impossible to forge new valyrian steel swords."

"I possess magic learned from Melisandre, the flames of the Charcoal Fire Dragon Colt, and I also learned forging techniques from the old man at the South Mountain Nursing Home."

"When the time comes, I will provide each of you with a set of valyrian steel Armor, complete with a shield, longsword, and lance." Mufasa said.

"Truly worthy of being the nephew I raised since childhood!" Tyrion exclaimed. He had been raising Mufasa since he was three years old. Ten years had passed in a flash.

The little squirt from back then has actually grown to this extent.

"Who else knows that you can forge a valyrian steel sword?" Tywin asked.

"Gendry, and Yohn Royce." Mufasa replied.

"Does that mean the news has already spread?" he asked.

"Well, uh, yes, it has essentially spread. In the short term, not many people will know! But over time, it will certainly become known to everyone!" Mufasa said.

After all, secrets cannot be kept forever.
