AUXILIARY CHAPTER — REALMS, TECHNIQUES, AND THE CRIMSON REBORN

The world that Jin Baiyu had returned to was not the fragile, mortal plane of his previous life. It was a realm steeped in spiritual energy, where the strong ruled by the force of their cultivation, and the weak were crushed beneath the weight of power. Mountains floated among clouds, rivers glowed with latent qi, and sects rose like palaces in the sky, each a fortress of martial supremacy.

Here, power dictated everything. Life, politics, alliances, and even morality were secondary to strength. Only those capable of bending the elements, spiritual energy, and their own flesh and bones to their will could survive, let alone thrive.

The Cultivation System

In this world, cultivation was measured in distinct realms, each representing an exponential increase in power, lifespan, and spiritual awareness. Advancement was achieved through rigorous training, meditation, and mastery over one's spiritual energy (Qi).

1. Mortal Realm

The starting point for any human.

Qi circulation is minimal or latent.

Martial arts limited to physical techniques.

Lifespan: 30–50 years.

The majority of the population remains here, ignorant of the true nature of the world.

2. Qi Condensation Realm

Qi circulates through the dantian and meridians.

Capable of basic elemental attacks and techniques.

Lifespan: 60–100 years.

Outer Sect disciples typically enter this stage during adolescence.

3. Foundation Establishment

The body and meridians are fully opened.

Practitioners can manipulate spiritual energy externally.

Capable of advanced combat techniques, arrays, and minor elemental control.

Lifespan: 150–300 years.

Many young prodigies aim to reach this stage within the Outer Sect.

4. Core Formation

Spiritual energy condensed into a "Core" within the dantian.

Qi can be projected and manipulated with precision.

Allows mastery of spiritual arrays, defensive shields, and elemental affinities.

Lifespan: 500–1,000 years.

Inner Sect disciples often reach this stage in early adulthood.

5. Nascent Soul

Core transforms into a spiritual soul, allowing astral projection and independent energy constructs.

Capable of large-scale arrays and devastating martial techniques.

Lifespan: 2,000–5,000 years.

Sect elders and legendary warriors typically inhabit this stage.

6. Spirit King / Saint Realm

Physical form becomes a vessel for immense spiritual energy.

Can warp the battlefield, manipulate multiple elements simultaneously, and defy conventional combat.

Lifespan: 10,000+ years.

Only the most extraordinary geniuses or reincarnated prodigies, like Jin Baiyu, can reach this realm.

Note: Within each realm, practitioners can have sub-stages—early, mid, and peak—affecting their battle capabilities drastically.

Techniques and Specialization

Cultivators specialize in one or multiple schools of combat, each with unique techniques. Most disciples are limited to one element, but prodigies and reincarnated geniuses can combine multiple.

Shadow Arts: Manipulation of darkness and ethereal tendrils. Jin Baiyu excels here, allowing him to immobilize, crush, and manipulate enemies and the environment subtly.

Asura God Scripture Techniques: Forbidden skills Jin Baiyu retains from his previous life. Includes:

Crimson Wing: Manifestation of demonic energy as winged shadow tendrils.

Soul Rend: Internal spiritual energy attack that can crush an opponent's core if misused.

Shadow Step: Instantaneous movement over short distances, appearing as teleportation to the untrained eye.

Elemental Qi Manipulation: Basic mastery over fire, wind, or water for offense/defense. Jin's mortal body currently only allows minimal elemental manipulation, supplemented by shadow energy.

Array Knowledge: Ability to manipulate pre-existing sect arrays, even bending them subtly to his will—a skill no ordinary Outer Sect disciple can match.

Jin's primary strength lies not in brute force but perception and strategy. He observes opponents' movements, weaknesses, and reactions, exploiting them instantly. Even with a mortal body, his shadow techniques and Asura God Scripture remnants make him effectively untouchable at the Outer Sect level.

MC's Abilities So Far

Shadow Manipulation: Can control shadows to immobilize, attack, or shield. Able to extend tendrils over multiple meters.

Overpowered Combat Intelligence: Centuries of experience allow him to predict and counter enemy attacks flawlessly.

Partial Restoration of Mortal Body: Breakthroughs in meditation and the Asura God Scripture allow him to heal internal injuries and partially reform broken meridians.

Array Adaptation: Can subtly manipulate spiritual arrays without formal training in the sect's teachings.

Fear Projection: The faint crimson aura around him induces hesitation and fear, even in experienced disciples.

Future Potential: Jin Baiyu can fully awaken the Asura God Scripture, allowing his mortal body to surpass most Outer and even early Inner Sect disciples, eventually rivaling saints and spirit kings.

World Setting

The Azure Heaven Sect is one of many sects in the world, each guarding unique mountains, islands, or floating realms.

Sect Territories: Large regions of controlled space infused with spiritual energy. The stronger the sect, the more powerful the ley-lines and arrays within its boundaries.

Floating Mountains: Peaks suspended in the air by spiritual energy. Dangerous but rich in cultivation resources.

Spirit Beasts: Wild creatures with natural spiritual energy. Stronger beasts inhabit floating peaks and act as both guardians and challenges for disciples.

Resources: Herbs, minerals, and elemental crystals are essential for cultivation breakthroughs. Rare resources are fiercely protected by powerful sects or spirit beasts.

Outside the sects, the mortal world is harsh. Cultivators roam freely, seeking power, revenge, or forbidden techniques. Politics between sects are fragile, and wars often erupt over resources, rivalries, or ancient grudges.

The Reincarnated Anti-Hero

Jin Baiyu's reincarnation gives him a decisive edge:

Knowledge of centuries of martial history, arrays, and forbidden techniques.

Anti-hero mindset: No moral restraint, willing to kill, manipulate, or betray if it accelerates his power or influence.

Strategic Genius: Can plan battles, political maneuvers, and cultivation progress simultaneously.

In a world where strength is the ultimate law, his rebirth into a mortal body is a temporary limitation, one he is already beginning to overcome through a combination of training, strategy, and subtle manipulation of qi and shadows.
