📜 Chapter Forn's Mockery
The giants were astonished by what the elder had said, responding in disbelief:
"A ruler? This race has a ruler?! Why have we never heard of them before? Then… what race are they?"
The elder looked at the Giant Leader and said in a strange tone:
"I have never heard of them before… nor have I ever seen anything like them. They resemble a fusion of humans, giants, and elves…"
She continued, puzzled:
"I don't understand how they can be so… perfect in form. But I have only seen their leader… I believe they are still wary of our intentions."
One of the giants looked at her and said:
"And what would our intentions be, Elder? We are a straightforward race… we do not know deception or cunning."
The Giant Leader looked at his people calmly and said:
"Ordinary races would not understand… nor would they comprehend that we are incapable of deceit or trickery."
When the elder heard this…
She remembered the child's actions—his lies, his deception…
And said with irritation:
"No… Leader! Some among the giants are capable of deception and lying… even from a young age!"
As soon as she said that…
The rest of the giants looked at one another in confusion!
The Giant Leader asked:
"Why do you say that, Elder? Have you ever encountered one of us who lies or deceives?"
The elder looked at him…
And thought for a moment whether she should tell them what happened on the island…
But after brief consideration, she said to herself:
"They will find out eventually… it is better to explain everything now so I don't face problems later."
And so…
She began explaining, patiently and in full detail, everything that had happened on the island.
Far from the shock the giants showed…
Odin stood before his brothers, his children, and his grandchildren, who had gathered once more in their village.
In a calm voice, he said:
"I know you are wondering why I made you hide in the caves like that… without explanation, or even enough time."
He continued:
"And now, I am here to explain what happened."
As Odin spoke…
Forn looked at her husband, her eyes burning with curiosity.
She wanted to know everything.
Odin looked at his people and said in a low, serious tone:
"From this moment forward… we are allies of the giants."
Silence fell over the place.
His children and his brothers' children already understood… They had grown up and learned some of the secrets.
As for the grandchildren…
They did not grasp the importance of it… They simply nodded.
But Forn…
She had no idea what was going on.
She looked around in disbelief—at Athena, Odin's brothers, and his children—who accepted the situation calmly, as if they already knew.
And she said, sadly:
"Why do they know… while I don't?"
Odin sighed and looked at her:
"It is not up to me, my wife… this is the will of Asgard."
He continued calmly:
"It was a secret… we did not know when this alliance would happen."
When Odin saw that his words were not helping, and that Forn was still upset…
He thought to himself:
"I need to calm her… the child inside her has not yet been born."
Then he smiled and said:
"Would you like to know what is happening in the continent of Mira?"
At once, her sadness disappeared, and she said eagerly:
"Will… will you tell me what's happening there?"
Odin smiled slightly and laughed:
"Yes… I will."
He knew well that Forn did not care about the imperial human family…
What she truly cared about was whether humanity itself was safe.
A small part of her still wanted to return… To become their empress once more.
So he said in a serious tone:
"A terrible curse has fallen upon the imperial family, Forn…"
She was shocked.
Before she could speak…
He continued:
"The mage who failed to capture you cast a horrifying spell… one that covered the entire imperial capital."
Then he added:
"But fortunately, the humans fled quickly… if they had stayed, they would have all died."
Forn stared in disbelief:
"Is… is it really that serious?"
Odin nodded…
Then waved his hand.
A strange light appeared before them…
Suddenly, it distorted, and a strange mist began to emerge from it.
Forn looked at it, confused:
"This is—"
But before she could finish…
She observed the mist more carefully…
And then she realized—
It was an image of the imperial capital.
The entire empire was surrounded by mist…
Completely engulfed by it…
So much so that she could not even recognize it…
Until Odin made her view it from above, beyond the fog.
Only then did she understand.
She said, in disbelief:
"So… humanity has fallen to this state…?"
As she spoke…
Odin sensed that she was beginning to feel sadness—
But before he could comfort her—
Fearing for the unborn child—
Forn suddenly laughed… a dark, cruel laugh:
"They deserve it! Useless people!"
Then she added mockingly:
"I leave them for a short time… and their capital becomes like this? Hahaha!"
Odin looked at her in disbelief…
And quickly realized—
She hadn't wanted to know out of concern…
But to revel in their suffering.
After everything they had done to her…
After they hunted her… and caused her those terrible injuries…
