Chapter 3 - The SSS Weapon is No Joke!

The remnants of the shattered sky still shimmered with crackling lightning, but Sol's focus was on the looming shadow—the dragon that had once roared in defiance. Its dark scales rippled with an unnatural sheen, eyes burning with ancient intelligence. It hovered just beyond reach, wings beating a heavy, rhythmic pattern that stirred the air.

A low growl echoed from the beast, a warning and challenge rolled into one.

Sol tightened his grip on the sword, the mysterious blade humming softly in his hands. The runes on its surface flickered like distant stars, whispering secrets he could barely understand. The divine energy within it thrummed in anticipation.

The dragon lunged suddenly, shadows twisting around its claws. Its maw opened wide, revealing razor-sharp teeth as black fire poured from its throat. Sol reacted instinctively, raising the sword.

The moment the dragon's fire met the blade, the air exploded in a shockwave. The divine sword shimmered brighter, absorbing the dark flames like a living creature. It pulsed with an ominous glow, veins of pure energy blazing along its length.

With a roar, Sol swung the sword in a sweeping arc, unleashing a wave of golden energy that clashed against the dragon's shadowy fire. The clash ignited the atmosphere, a burst of light and darkness colliding in a maelstrom.

The dragon recoiled, snarling. Its eyes flashed with fury as it struck again, claws slashing downward with lethal precision. Sol dodged, barely avoiding the deadly swipe, and responded with a quick thrust.

The sword moved faster than thought—an extension of his will. He aimed for the dragon's wing, driving the blade in with a burst of divine energy. The runes flared violently as the sword pierced through, unleashing a shockwave that sent debris flying.

The dragon howled in pain, wings flaring wildly. Its form flickered with shadow and light as ancient magic surged through it. It spun around, tail smashing into the ground in a violent sweep.

Sol leapt back, eyes blazing. His grip tightened on the mysterious weapon. It responded—an almost sentient force guiding his strikes.

He remembered the words echoing in his mind: *The sword is a vessel, a key to unlock divine power.* And now, he was beginning to understand.

The dragon attacked again, this time with a barrage of shadowy fire. Sol raised the sword defensively, the runes flashing wildly. As the flames surged toward him, he invoked the sword's hidden ability.

A strange, radiant shield formed around him, shimmering with golden light—an ancient divine magic. The fire crashed against it, crackling and sizzling as if it were alive. The shield held for a moment, then shattered into sparkles of light, leaving Sol standing firm.

The dragon, sensing his strength, lunged with renewed fury. It aimed to crush him beneath its massive claws. Sol dodged at the last second, spinning with the sword raised high.

"Eternal Flame, show your true might!" Sol shouted, channeling his resolve.

The sword responded. Its runes flared brighter than ever, and a blistering, fiery aura erupted from the blade. The divine energy coalesced into a spear of golden fire that shot forward in a straight line, piercing through the dragon's defenses.

The beast roared, convulsing as the divine flames tore into its shadowy form. The sky trembled, lightning dancing wildly overhead. The dragon tried to retreat, wings beating desperately—but Sol was relentless.

He charged, unleashing a series of rapid strikes, the sword cutting through shadow and flesh alike. Each swing released a burst of divine energy, transforming the battlefield into a storm of light and darkness.

Finally, with a mighty cry, Sol drove the sword deep into the dragon's chest. The creature's body shimmered with a blinding light—then collapsed, dissolving into a cascade of sparks and shadows.

The sky quieted, the storm subsiding. Sol stood amidst the wreckage, panting, sweat dripping down his face. The divine sword's glow slowly dimmed, returning to a faint hum.

He looked at the weapon, awe and curiosity in his eyes. The power it held was beyond anything he'd ever imagined, yet its true nature remained a mystery.

The whispers in his mind grew louder, laced with ancient echoes.

*The Eternal Flame is awakening... but beware—its true nature is yet to be revealed.*

Sol sheathed the sword, its mysterious runes flickering softly.

He took a deep breath, knowing this was only the beginning. The path to becoming the Heavenly Swordsman was fraught with danger and secrets, but he was ready to face whatever came next.

Because he knew now, this sword was more than just metal. It was destiny itself.

And he would unlock its secrets, no matter what.
