Chapter 434 - Chapter 769: Reduced to Ashes with One Shot

[Sky Ninja Base]

The villages built around it had already turned into a sea of fire.

The families of the Sky Ninja and the dove faction among the Sky Ninja had all been captured and taken inside Ancor Vantian.

All of them were imprisoned in cells capable of extracting energy.

Obito and Moryo quickly arrived at the central control room.

There was a massive metal throne here. Many metal lines covered the throne, along with several control levers and buttons.

"This is the place. The one beside it is the control lever. This one controls ascent, this one controls direction, and pulling it back makes it hover."

Moryo explained each part to Obito.

Although Obito was not young anymore and had experienced many things, he had never operated a flying fortress before, so he was somewhat excited.

"Is there enough energy for ascent?", Obito asked to confirm.

Moryo responded, "The Zero-Tails has already hatched. There's more than enough energy for ascent."

"This is the first ascent, so it consumes a lot of energy."

"But the Sky Ninja people are enough for that. We need to leave this place as soon as possible. If Konoha follows the trail here, it'll be troublesome."

Obito nodded and sat on the chair, then began feeding energy into it.

The three lights below all began flashing. After dozens of seconds, all three lights turned green.

Obito pulled the control lever, and the massive Ancor Vantian slowly started shaking.

The Sky Ninja imprisoned in the lower cells all fell to the ground screaming.

The cells began absorbing their life energy in huge amounts. The pain felt like being skinned alive and having their bones ripped out.

The energy ignited the runes carved into Ancor Vantian.

The ground outside continuously cracked apart. The giant aircraft buried underground slowly rose into the sky as earth and stone split apart.

Until the entire body had fully emerged from underground and flown into the air.

The entire flying fortress was extremely large. It could casually hold several thousand people.

There was only one aircraft of this size in the entire ninja world.

It had to be said, it truly deserved to be called the Sky Ninja's final hope.

After leaving the ground, the flying fortress suddenly accelerated.

In just over ten minutes, it climbed into the clouds and disappeared.

———

Several hours after Obito flew Ancor Vantian away, Sasori of the Red Sand and Kakuzu also arrived here with wings of Iron Sand.

Seeing the ground completely overturned like the aftermath of a massive earthquake, even Kakuzu was surprised.

Looking at the giant pit, Kakuzu asked doubtfully, "Was this flying fortress really that big?"

Sasori shook his head. They had just finished interrogating the surviving Sky Ninja and rushed here without stopping.

But they had still arrived too late.

Even though they could fly, they were still slower than Obito's Kamui space.

"I'll inspect the pit. You check whether there's anyone nearby," Sasori suggested.

Both Sasori and Kakuzu had come with missions, so they had to investigate carefully.

Kakuzu's body immediately split apart, and three Earth Grudge Fear creatures jumped out from him to conduct a carpet search.

Meanwhile, Sasori arrived beside the massive pit to look for clues.

About ten minutes later, all of Kakuzu's Earth Grudge Fear creatures returned and merged back into his body.

"There isn't a single living person in the outer villages. Only a few corpses."

"The things inside their houses weren't packed up. They were probably taken away."

"This is the corpse I found."

Kakuzu carried the corpse over to meet up with Sasori.

Sasori had already measured the underground pit. Hearing this, he jumped out of the hole.

"Let's head back first. We can still get some information from the corpse."

Sasori knew Orochimaru could use Edo Tensei, so naturally he did not plan to waste even the corpse.

Kakuzu took it quite calmly. After all, he had already obtained six warships.

———

Inside the clouds, Obito had no idea that Kakuzu and Sasori had already come to investigate the Sky Ninja base.

After flying Ancor Vantian into the clouds, he stopped there and inspected the flying fortress together with Moryo.

There were many stone statues and sacrificial sites throughout the fortress. After all, it was the Sky Ninja Village's ultimate weapon, so naturally it carried a certain amount of religious meaning.

But in Obito's eyes, all of these had become unnecessary burdens on the fortress.

"We should tear all this stuff out. It'll fly faster."

Obito had Moryo record every place on the fortress that needed repairs or removal.

He and Black Zetsu had never truly trusted each other anyway. Now that he had a base of his own, he was more than happy about it and naturally wanted to manage it properly.

"Want to try Ancor Vantian's weapon?", Moryo asked casually.

Obito really had not known this flying fortress even possessed weapons.

"What weapon?"

Moryo gestured for Obito to follow him, and they arrived at the lowest level of the fortress.

This was also where the Zero-Tails had hatched earlier. The area was spacious. Aside from the walls being covered in runes, there was a metal panel on the floor below.

"Here, the Zero-Tails can gather energy for beyond-visual-range attacks."

Moryo pointed at the metal panel as he explained.

Obito walked over to the metal panel. An extremely ugly monster emerged behind him.

The creature looked like a brown flesh worm wearing a white mask with the character "Zero" written on it.

A large number of pale yellow tentacles extended from its body.

The tentacles attached themselves to the metal panel, and Obito's mind immediately connected to it.

He quickly learned how to use the super weapon.

A radar-like field of vision unfolded before his eyes, and several points appeared on it.

They were the Sky Ninja Village's six warships.

Large amounts of blue-gray energy spread out from Obito's body.

All the runes inside the room activated and lit up.

The disc outside the aircraft flashed, and massive energy gathered on it.

Then a huge beam of light pierced through the clouds and shot into the distance.

———

Standing atop the Fourth Kazekage puppet, Kakuzu was happily flying toward the six warships.

The weather was excellent. The sea stretched beneath a cloudless sky with very high visibility.

Kakuzu had already spotted the six ships docked at sea from far away.

Although these giant things were lacking in actual combat use, selling them as transport ships to jonin would still be good.

Konoha was rich enough that they would not compete with him over this kind of money.

"I wonder which ninja village would be best to sell these ships to."

Kakuzu asked Sasori, "Does the Land of Fire do much sea transport?"

Sasori actually knew the answer.

"Right now, trade between Konoha and Kirigakure is very frequent. If you plan to sell those ships, just sell them to merchants from the Land of Fire."

"They're not short on money."

Kakuzu looked at the ships. He did not know their exact value, but selling them for a hundred million would not be a problem.

"Then after I get back, I'll look for buyers—"

Right as Kakuzu said this, something suddenly flashed through his mind.

A streak of yellow light shot past them several hundred meters away and directly struck the six warships.

BOOM!

A massive explosion rang out, along with huge amounts of seawater blasted into the sky.

An enormous mushroom cloud appeared over the ocean.

Violent hurricane-force winds instantly spread outward.

Even though Sasori and Kakuzu were already very far away, the powerful air pressure still blew both of them back dozens of meters.

Crash!

As the seawater fell back down, the six warships had already been blasted into fragments.

Kakuzu stared at the sea covered in wreckage, his expression blank.

"MY MONEY!"
