Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Selling Medicine

He said he'd do it, and did it immediately.

Ethan directly turned all his remaining ointment into burn medicine.

Fortunately, Ethan had already studied the recipe for burn medicine in advance. Otherwise, even if he had the herbs, he would've had to wait until he built a medicine table before he could make any.

If he really had to wait until then, that would seriously delay making money.

[Painkiller Fruit -2, Wound Grass -1, Scar-Removing Flower -1]

[Burn Medicine +1]

[Painkiller Fruit -2, Wound Grass -1, Scar-Removing Flower -1]

[Burn Medicine +1]

[Pain...]

He kept repeating the process of making medicine.

About half an hour later, Ethan had made forty-nine portions of burn medicine, almost covering the entire ground.

He opened the trading channel.

[Water -100, Wood +1]

[Water -100, Stone +1]

[Water -200, Wood +2]

[Water -100, Stone +1]

As soon as he opened it, four automatic prompts popped up.

The 500 units of water Ethan had listed for sale today had already been sold out, and there were still many people leaving messages begging for water.

["Boss, can you tell me in advance next time you sell water? I just saw it, and it was gone in seconds."]

["Boss, please sell purified water! The one I bought yesterday gave me diarrhea all day! Crying noises~"]

["Need water, 3 wood for 200 water, deal?"]

The comment page was flooded with messages.

But Ethan didn't have time to bother with the small water-selling business.

After all, selling half a day's worth of water only got him a few pieces of wood. His top priority right now was to list these forty-nine portions of burn medicine for sale.

Anyway, his own portion hadn't been used up yet. When it was gone, he might already have new materials on hand.

There was no point hoarding, what mattered most in the early stage was gathering materials and upgrading.

Ethan glanced at the main materials he currently needed.

To upgrade his Level 2 Tool Table: [Stone 19/100, Wood 43/20, Earth-Type Beast Core 2/2]

He was still short on stones.

Selling just one portion of burn medicine should be enough to get them.

As for the Stone House upgrade materials: [Stone 19/200, Mud 0/100, Wood 43/50, Vines 12/20, Glass 0/4, Earth-Type Beast Core 2/4]

That one was a bit harder.

Still, Ethan didn't care whether people could afford it or not, he'd just list it first and see.

[Burn Medicine (1 portion): Exchange for Wood ×20 (Alternative: Stone ×20, Mud ×20) Remaining: 15]

[Burn Medicine (1 portion): Exchange for Vine ×5. Remaining: 4]

[Burn Medicine (1 portion): Exchange for Earth-Type Beast Core ×1. Remaining: 10]

[Burn Medicine (1 portion): Exchange for Spirit Stone ×1 (Alternative: Glass ×1). Remaining: 20]

He divided it into several options, each meant for different kinds of players.

For example, those near forests were mainly lumberjacks, while those near swamps or caves lived off mining and digging, the materials they could offer were naturally different.

And all the items Ethan listed were exactly what he needed most right now.

After posting the trades, Ethan went to the regional channel and shouted:

[Ethan: "Anyone need burn medicine?"]

["Yeah! Yeah!! Boss, do you have some?"]

["High price offered!"]

["I'm in pain all over, please boss, give me medicine!"]

Seeing that everyone responded enthusiastically, Ethan was relieved and replied again:

[Ethan: "If you need it, buy through the trading platform. Priority given to people from this region!"]

["I saw it, but it's kinda pricey! Anyone wanna split one? Half each! PM me if you do!"]

["What's wrong with you? Since you have the recipe, you should make it public so everyone can use it for free! Seeing everyone injured, and you still profiteering like this, shameless!"]

["Wow, a wild Saint appeared upstairs! He worked hard to make it, why should he give it away for free? If you're such a saint, why don't you donate all your assets to everyone for free, huh?"]

["Looking for someone slightly injured to share one, I'll pay two-thirds, you pay one-third!"

["Boss, can you please share the recipe? I really can't afford it, but I want to make a bit for myself. I promise I won't leak it! Thank you, boss, you're a good man."]

The comments varied, some flattering, some scolding, some practical, trying to form purchase groups.

Ethan couldn't be bothered to reply to any of them. In a place like this, being a saint was the same as courting death. [T/N: Mt. Tai]

He was never a good person to begin with, so expecting him to act like one here was just a joke.

But in the blink of an eye, his private messages in the trading channel exploded.

Ethan quickly opened them.

[Burn Medicine -1: Wood +20]

[Burn Medicine -1: Mud +20]

[Burn Medicine -1: Vine +5]

[Burn Medicine -1: Spirit Stone +1]

Unexpectedly, the most common trades were from players offering spirit stones, mud, and stone.

No one offered beast cores.

Probably because these players weren't strong enough yet to hunt monsters.

However, many players had gotten spirit stones from treasure chests, they didn't know what they were for yet, but burn medicine was something urgently needed. Anyone with half a brain knew what to choose.

A minute later, all of Ethan's trade listings were nearly gone, leaving only:

[Burn Medicine (1 portion): Exchange for Earth-Type Beast Core ×1. Remaining: 10]

[Burn Medicine (1 portion): Exchange for Spirit Stone ×1 (Alternative: Glass ×1). Remaining: 11]

All the common materials had been completely traded away.

And many who didn't get one were now flooding Ethan's inbox:

["Boss, I've gathered enough wood, can I trade for one?"]

["Brother Ethan, I don't have what you're asking for, but I've got a Gold-Type Beast Core. Can I trade that for one?"]

["I only have 10 wood, boss, can you sell me half a portion, please! I'm in so much pain!"]

["I'm the influencer Kitty Meow. If you play DOTA2, you definitely know me! Brother Ethan, you wouldn't want to see such a pretty face scarred, right? If you give me just a bit of medicine, I promise when we meet I'll properly repay you, you can do whatever you want! Okay?"]

["Give me the medicine for free, and when we get back, I'll give you a million! No, a tenth of a million! I'm Bezos' son! I've got plenty of money, I won't lie!"]

["I, Muzan, command you, give me the medicine! I'll grant you immortality!"]

All kinds of messages, most of them just trying to get the medicine for free.

Either claiming to be some real-world rich boss or second-generation heir, or even trying to threaten Ethan with nasty language, saying if he didn't give it to them, they'd do something terrible.

Ethan immediately blacklisted all the loudmouths.

No more trading with them in the future.

After all, there was no point dealing with such people, save one today, and you might just save a future enemy. Ethan didn't care much about that, but it didn't mean he liked the sight of them either.

So he simply blocked them all, out of sight, out of mind.

As for those offering wood and speaking politely, Ethan did agree to a few.

But he chose to trade privately with them instead.

Especially the player who wanted to trade with a Gold-Type Beast Core, that genuinely surprised him.

He hadn't expected there'd be someone else, just like him, who had already started killing monsters bare-handed.
