Chapter 496 - Chapter 496: The Second Way Out

Bzz... Bzz...

"Sure!"

Charlie's voice came from the radio, which crackled with static from time to time.

"Lord Ethan, then I'll have to trouble you to be a witness for the two of us. If I do it, please twist its head off for me."

"No problem."

Ethan had wanted to twist the Scam-God Statue's head off for a long time.

Unfortunately, he'd never found a suitable excuse.

Now that the Scam-God Statue had brought this on itself, it couldn't blame Ethan for showing no mercy.

"Statue, listen carefully," Charlie's strange electronic voice came from the radio again, "The first way is to use a Return Scroll and go straight back."

"Uh...", Ethan's face stiffened.

He hadn't expected the first way Charlie mentioned to be a dead end.

When the Prophetic Statue had warned him about the coming flood, he'd already used the magic book to tell Bird One and the others to use their Return Scrolls and head back to the territory first.

Unfortunately, Bird One and the others had told him that this place seemed to block them.

The Return Scrolls didn't work.

Not only that, they couldn't contact the outside world through the magic book either.

So... Charlie's first suggestion... GAME OVER.

["Hahaha..."]

The Scam-God Statue burst into laughter.

["That's it? That's your suggestion?"]

["I thought you were so capable, but this is all you've got?"]

["Don't you know..."]

["The underground labyrinth has spatial restrictions, so Return Scrolls can't be used?"]

["Haha, go eat shit!"]

Bzz~ Bzz~

"The one who should eat shit is you!", the Charlie Brand Radio shot back through the crackling static. "Don't you know Lord Ethan has an Unlimited Return Scroll? Forget mere spatial restrictions, even continents can be crossed with it."

["Uh..."]

Only then did the Scam-God Statue exclaim in surprise, ["Holy crap! He really does!"]

["That's way too well hidden! Hiding a premium item among a pile of Return Scrolls! Damn! Damn!"]

Ethan complained, "I'm starting to question the quality of your so-called divine statue."

Looking down at the Scam-God Statue, he wondered whether he should just throw it into the smelting furnace and fuse it into something else.

The Scam-God Statue immediately began begging for mercy.

["I give up! I give up, okay?"]

["It's because you never gave me enough energy. Without enough spiritual power, how am I supposed to make accurate predictions?"]

["And... don't even think about smelting and fusing me. You think a mere low-grade smelting furnace can refine someone like me? Dream on!"]

"Heh! Trash."

Ethan sneered at it.

He didn't argue.

He didn't refute it.

He simply tossed out a casual insult.

To the Scam-God Statue... that was the hardest blow of all.

Bzz~

The Scam-God Statue shut down again.

"Even though that Unlimited Return Scroll works, I only have one. What about Daji and the others?", Ethan frowned, "What's the second way? Charlie, keep going."

"Yes, Lord Ethan," Charlie continued, "Actually, there isn't a second exit in this labyrinth."

"The labyrinth has only one entrance, and it's in the Gray Ore Mining Area."

"Huh?"

Ethan became even more confused.

'Didn't Charlie just say there is a second way?'

Besides... although the Scam-God Statue charged outrageous prices, if it dared fool him over something like this... Wasn't it afraid Ethan would smash it into gravel?

"Don't worry, Lord Ethan," The small crystal ball on the Charlie Brand Radio flashed rapidly with rainbow-colored light, "However, in the center of this labyrinth world, in the center of the Goblin Kingdom's plaza, there's a small Magic Bean Temple. As long as we find the three magic beans inside, we can use the rapidly growing magic beans to leave this underground world."

"I see!"

Ethan slapped his palm.

He immediately stored the smelting furnace inside the Large Capsule.

Unfortunately, the Large Capsule was even bigger than a large backpack and couldn't be put into his spatial ring. Left with no choice, Ethan took out several strands of Water Ghost Green Hair, tied them around the Large Capsule, and carried it on his back as he left the shrine.

The moment he stepped out of the shrine... Ethan saw Bird One and the others constantly looking into the distance.

And... they were looking toward the cliff.

Seeing this, Ethan looked in the same direction.

There... water was pouring down from the cliff like a waterfall.

The flood had already begun spreading toward them. Although Bird One and the others all looked anxious, not a single one of them had considered leaving first.

"Why hasn't the Lord come out yet?"

"How about I go in and look for the Lord? At this rate, in about half an hour, the flood will completely submerge this place."

"Yeah!"

Bird Three quickly agreed.

"We can fly, so we'll be fine. But the Lord... Wait, no, the Lord can fly too!"

"Flying won't help!", Bird One said, "This is underground. If the flood is big enough, we'll all end up underwater. We have to find a way out first!"

"How about I fly up to the ceiling and see if there's another exit?"

"Sounds good!"

As Bird One and the others finished discussing it and were about to set off, Ethan finally spoke.

"No need. I've already found a way out!"

"Lord!"

Bird One and the others finally relaxed.

Ethan waved his hand.

"Everyone, follow me."

"Yes, Lord!"

Everyone answered in unison.

Taking advantage of the moment, Ethan spoke to Charlie through voice transmission, ["Charlie, can you guide us?"]
