Chapter 557 - Chapter 556: Tracking

"Eh! Another customer?"

The bartender at Magic Tree 1123 was quite surprised today.

After all, this magic tree had not had anyone visit for a long time. Yet two different customers had actually come in today, which left the red-haired beauty somewhat stunned.

"Is it a bad thing to have another customer? Or am I bothering you?"

Hearing the bartender, the White-Bearded Man did not show her any courtesy just because she was a beauty. Instead, he immediately mocked her.

After all, with his status, he would receive a warm welcome no matter which magic tree he went to.

And the confused look on this female bartender's face made him extremely dissatisfied.

"No, that's not what I meant!", The female bartender hurriedly waved her hands, then quickly came out from behind the counter and said, "I'm just a little surprised. Branch 1123 of the Magic Tree hasn't had any customers for a long time, but two customers came one after another today, so it's quite surprising."

"Two customers came today?", The White-Bearded Man quickly picked up on her words, "Looks like I came to the right place! Hmph, tell me what that rat looked like."

"A rat?"

The female bartender was stunned for a moment. Then she noticed the five-star medal pinned to the White-Bearded Man's chest and the green leaf emblem on his medal. Her pupils immediately contracted.

"You... You're the Archmage of the Peace Organization!"

After discovering the White-Bearded Man's identity, the female bartender immediately realized that the so-called rat the Archmage was talking about... should be referring to the alchemist.

After all... she received one or two wanted notices for alchemists almost every week.

She personally posted them on the bulletin board, so she knew about this matter quite well.

"Mhm!"

The White-Bearded Man gave an arrogant hum, then stroked his large white beard and said, "All right, save the flattery. I'm in a hurry. Quickly tell me that rat's appearance and characteristics. Also, find out everything he touched so I can track him."

"R-reporting to the Peace Envoy, he was a human male in his early twenties. He had a buzz cut, black hair, and black eyes," As the female bartender spoke, she gestured at Ethan's height, "About 1.8 meters tall, good build, starry brows and sharp eyes, with very strong facial features. He was kind of handsome."

"I think you've read too many magic romance books," The White-Bearded Man directly interrupted the lovestruck bartender, "Get to the point! What clothes was he wearing? What kind of shoes? What weapon was he carrying?"

"Clothes..."

The female bartender pressed a finger to her temple and adorably thought for quite a while. Only then did she finally recall some fragmented images.

"Seems like... seems like a white fur coat. His hands... um... I don't think he was holding anything. I don't remember his shoes."

After all, the female bartender's attention at the time had been entirely focused on Ethan's face. How could she have noticed what he was wearing or what he had in his hands?

Ethan had only passed by for a short while, and on top of that, it was rare for her to see such a handsome human man.

How could the female bartender have had time to look at the other things on him?

Did those things matter?

"A young human with a white fur coat, black hair, and black eyes?", The White-Bearded Man frowned deeply, "No, that can't be him! He's already a fire-element mage. As everyone knows, a mage and an alchemist can only choose one path. It's impossible for him to be that person."

"Eh? The Peace Envoy has seen him too? He's handsome, right?", The female bartender's eyes were full of stars, "I told you, how could such a handsome man possibly be that so-called evil alchemist? Peace Envoy, you must have misunderstood something, right?"

"Whether he's an alchemist isn't for you to decide."

The White-Bearded Man glared at the female bartender before waving his magic staff and drawing a circle in the air.

A little white mist drifted from the tip of the magic staff, and the mist began forming a circle. Soon, images started appearing inside it.

The scene showed exactly what had happened after the White-Bearded Man discovered Ethan: Ethan jumping down from the tree and speaking with the Archmage.

If Ethan were here right now, he would definitely be amazed that although this world had no video cameras and no movies, some magic effects were actually even better than recording a movie.

And if you wanted to make a big-budget film, the special effects wouldn't even cost any money. At most, you'd only waste a little mental energy.

You could even save on the wires used for flying stunts.

After all, although most people could not fly, there were many things that could be used as substitutes for flight. Fighting scenes were even simpler. Even Ethan's subjects had some skills, let alone professional warriors or assassins.

If Ethan knew that such amazing magic existed in this world, he would probably already be considering using it to make movies.

"It's... it's him!"

The female bartender said excitedly, "Peace Envoy, could you put this scene into my mocha so I can watch this man? If he comes again, I guarantee I'll notify you immediately."
