She said the last part in a small voice, like she was afraid of how I would react.

So this was what they thought of me in Novaterra.
Not a partner. Not a boyfriend. Not someone worthy of respect.
A slut. A temporary distraction. Something to be used and discarded when Kastiel got bored.
I stood there, frozen. The world around me seemed to blur at the edges. I could hear the kids talking, but their voices sounded far away, underwater.
"Don't be offended," Anna said quickly. "I think they are lying."
"Right," the kids said, nodding vigorously.
"And if the Alpha King picks that snake over you, then he's dumb," Yena said.
The kids began cursing out Kastiel and Roma. Words I didn't even know they knew. Words that made me wince. They were angry on my behalf, defending me against people who weren't even here to defend themselves.
But I just stood there, unable to say anything. I couldn't react.
