Isabella's POV
My heart skips when I spot Alpha Aaron standing in our doorway. The familiar flutter that always accompanies his presence stirs in my chest, though something feels different this time. Less intense. Maybe Austin was onto something when he suggested I needed a distraction from my Aaron obsession. And boy, have I stumbled upon not just one distraction, but several.
Austin had returned home earlier today. Knowing he'd been expelled, I waited up for him. He'd wrapped me in a quick embrace before disappearing into Ezekiel's office, where he'd remained locked away all afternoon.
"Alpha Aaron! What brings you here?" I manage to ask.
"Word reached me about Austin's situation. I came to offer assistance. There's supposed to be some hacker kid calling with intel later."
My phone buzzes to life in my pocket. Glancing at the unknown number flashing across the screen, I send the call straight to voicemail.
"They're holed up in..." I start, but my phone erupts again.
