Lara's POV
Twenty million dollars. That's what my father received when he sold me like livestock at auction.
"At least I wasn't bargain basement," I whisper to myself.
Faith wraps her arm around my shoulders. "You need to eat something. You know Austin's going to ask about it when you call him," she says gently.
I nod because she's right. He always asks.
"Summers thinks he's got some leads, and Austin mentioned he's working on ideas too. Don't forget that you're not fighting this battle alone anymore, Lara. You've got people who care about you and will go to war for you," Rex reminds me.
"Seems like you've got an army building. I don't know much about Austin's family, but if Isabella's any example, they're all fire and fury," Bill adds.
The memory of Isabella's fierce loyalty makes me smile. "She was incredible, but I doubt her parents would actually let her join any real fight. She's still underage," I point out.
