Chapter 82: Debut of Mind Force Armament Mode
The battlefield suddenly froze. Everyone was stunned. That was Jabber—one of Roger's right-hand men, an Admiral-level fighter—sent flying with a single punch by an eighteen-year-old rookie who had just appeared. Can you believe it?
"That kid!" Rayleigh was also shocked. Just as Jabber had rushed out, Luo Han suddenly appeared before him, and the next thing they knew, Jabber had been launched.
"Haha! Not bad, kid," Hank laughed. "Aside from the captain, few people move like that. Still, your attack power's a bit lacking."
"Maybe, but I should be able to keep Jabber busy," Luo Han said with a smile.
Clang! A condensed blue slash came flying from the forest. Luo Han tilted his body slightly and dodged it, then looked toward the trees.
Jabber leapt back into view, patted his stomach, and looked at Luo Han with a grin. "Scary speed. Are all kids these days as terrifying as you?"
"Not really, still far behind the veterans," Luo Han shrugged.
"Haha! Are you underestimating me now?" Jabber chuckled, then charged again, this time activating his Observation Haki at full power.
As Jabber came at him, Luo Han didn't back down. Like a nimble monkey, he weaved left and right, darting across the battlefield. Whenever he encountered someone from the Roger Pirates, he'd land a punch, then vanish.
The battlefield descended into chaos.
"That damn kid!" Jabber twitched at the corner of his mouth, frozen in place. He was supposed to be blocking Luo Han, but the kid was running wild across the battlefield like a wrench in the gears.
"Don't just stand there, Jabber! If we don't stop him, our guys are going to get hurt," Rayleigh called out as he noticed their side starting to suffer injuries thanks to Luo Han's disruption.
Jabber snapped out of it—he had to stop the brat. With Luo Han throwing everything into disarray and Cole now in the mix, the Rocks Pirates were gaining the upper hand. The Roger Pirates were feeling the pressure.
…
Clang! Another slash came at him. Luo Han halted just in time, dodging Jabber's preemptive strike again.
"This kid's Observation Haki is insane. He always stops right before it hits," Jabber muttered, frustrated. "I thought my predictive strikes would catch him, but he's dodging every one."
Heh! Luo Han sensed Jabber's muttering but said nothing, continuing his chaotic blitz.
The Roger Pirates began to notice a pattern—anyone targeting Ochoku (Wang Zhi)or Kyo (Silver Axe) wasn't being disrupted by Luo Han.
Gradually, two distinct battle circles formed around Ochoku (Wang Zhi)and Kyo (Silver Axe) . The Roger Pirates were concentrating on them, while the Rocks Pirates were forced into the outer rings.
The battlefield reached a strange stalemate. Ochoku (Wang Zhi)and Kyo (Silver Axe) were under the most pressure, their bodies slowly stained with blood. They realized what was happening but couldn't outmaneuver Luo Han, who kept redirecting attackers back to them.
"Vindictive little brat," they both cursed internally. With a glance at each other, they moved closer to provide mutual support, and the battlefield turned into one large circular melee.
"So, why are you doing this, kid?" Jabber asked, now facing Luo Han head-on. There was a flicker of confusion in his eyes. He was aware of the three main battle zones now: Rayleigh vs. Hank, Ochoku (Wang Zhi)& Kyo (Silver Axe) under siege, and himself vs. Luo Han.
"No real reason. I just don't like those two," Luo Han replied casually.
"In that case…" Jabber said seriously, his gaze sharpening. "You think you can hold me off?"
"Come on, then. I'm done running," Luo Han grinned, arms wide in invitation.
"Bastard!" Jabber shouted, channeling Haki into his blades. With a double swing—clang!—a dense slash wave shaped like a full moon flew at Luo Han.
Facing the attack, Luo Han raised his right hand, palm open. His mind power surged into it, forming wave-like patterns that coalesced into a glowing blade-hand form.
As the waves condensed to their limit, the power peaked. Luo Han's palm, now shaped like a blade, slashed downward, releasing a faint blue slash of his own to meet Jabber's.
Clang! The two slash waves collided midair and locked in place, struggling for dominance. After a brief standoff, Jabber's slash cut through Luo Han's and continued on.
Only a weakened fragment of the attack reached Luo Han—ting!—causing sparks to fly off his Mind Force Armament before the attack dissipated.
"Still not enough power…" Luo Han gritted his teeth, though he sighed in relief. "At least I blocked it. That last bit wasn't even worth worrying about."
"That mind armor's a pain," Jabber muttered, frowning. "Must have strong defense. Combine that with his speed… Damn, he actually blocked it!"
And so, the two continued their duel, neither able to gain the upper hand.
At that moment, Sister Shao finally arrived at the battlefield's edge.
"Oh my! Looks like I'm not needed—everyone's holding up just fine," she said with a smile, surveying the chaos.
"Haha! Shao, you finally showed. Go help Quark's group!" Hank called out, excited. "Let's crush the Roger Pirates in one go—for the captain's plan!"
Wait, what? Luo Han blinked in confusion. Hank sounded way too eager… and familiar with Sister Shao?
Boom! In a flash, Sister Shao appeared beside Hank and kicked him hard, sending him flying right next to Luo Han.
Then she turned to Luo Han and said sweetly, "Luo Han, dear, why aren't you helping your big sister?"
"Uh—yes, ma'am!" Luo Han stammered, hurrying to her side, still dazed.
"What the hell, Shao?!" Hank shouted as he got up, furious.
"Oh, nothing much. This filthy man belongs to me and my little brother Luo Han now," she said, pointing at Rayleigh with a grin.
"You? Then hurry up and finish him so you can come help me," Hank replied, still confused but not opposing it. Considering that little brat's strength combined with Shao, they should be able to deal with Rayleigh quickly.
He turned back toward Jabber, charging in to resume their fight.
"Let's go!" Sister Shao said, dashing straight toward Rayleigh and kicking at his legs. Luo Han, charging in behind her, instinctively clamped his own legs together.
Boom! Shao's kick didn't land where intended—Rayleigh stepped back just in time and blocked it with his hands.
"Shao, that's too much," Rayleigh said coldly.
"Says the one who dined and dashed, you shameless scoundrel!" Shao hissed like a furious kitten, teeth bared. Her kicks became more ferocious, all aimed between his legs.
Their fight grew more and more intense, a vicious blur of motion. Luo Han stood nearby, breaking into a cold sweat—he had no intention of getting involved. He also couldn't help but look down on Rayleigh for dining and dashing.
"Hey! Luo Han, come help me already!" Sister Shao called out, frustrated at failing to land a hit. She glanced at Luo Han for assistance.
No, no, no! Luo Han shook his head violently, refusing to get involved.
"I'll help with mind power," he suddenly said with a wicked grin.
"Yes, good! Hurry!" Sister Shao grinned back just as wickedly, remembering how weirdly useful Luo Han's telekinesis could be. Her gaze toward Rayleigh turned feverish.
