Chapter 258: Yu Yuanzhen and the Clear Sky Sect's Alliance
Star Dou Great Forest, Lake of Life.
It was the first time Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo had entered the central region of the forest.
The tranquil lake shimmered with a potent aura of life, leaving both Titled Douluo deeply impressed.
Xiao Wu walked ahead, occasionally glancing back at Luo Ling.
"This is where I grew up," she explained. "I've lived here since I was little. My mother always looked after me, and with her help, I advanced to a hundred thousand years."
Luo Ling nodded, still puzzled. As one of the lowest-ranked species among spirit beasts, how could a Soft Bone Rabbit even hope to reach the hundred-thousand-year level?
One A Rou was already unbelievable—Xiao Wu becoming one too was absurd.
Perhaps the God King Tang had a particular fondness for rabbits, Luo Ling thought sarcastically.
Back in the Star Dou Great Forest, Xiao Wu seemed unburdened—more alive, more vibrant.
Luo Ling's mood also lightened slightly. His gaze fell on the gently rippling lake, eyes sharp as though he were trying to pierce through its shimmering depths.
According to the original storyline, the Silver Dragon King lay at the bottom of this very lake—half of the former Dragon God himself.
Luo Ling sank into contemplation. The Silver Dragon King was not the same as the souls of the Icefire Dragon Kings sealed beneath the Icefire Yin Yang Well; she was truly alive, though gravely injured, and beyond the reach of mortal power.
Such an existence would be a perfect candidate for a soul parasitism.
His eyes gleamed with intensity as he stared at the glimmering water. But in the end, he shook his head. With his current strength, facing her was impossible—especially with the ferocious beasts guarding her.
The ones over two hundred thousand years old had never appeared on the surface, which all but confirmed they were protecting the Silver Dragon King beneath the lake.
...
While Luo Ling and Xiao Wu lingered at the Lake of Life, Tang Hao had already led Yu Yuanzhen to the Clear Sky Sect.
Inside the sect's grand hall, Tang Xiao and several elders listened to Tang Hao recount the events that transpired in the Star Dou Great Forest.
After hearing everything, the Second Elder's expression turned incredulous. "You're saying that Luo Ling—a mere Spirit Saint—was able to fight Patriarch Yu head-on?"
All eyes turned toward Yu Yuanzhen. There were five Titled Douluo present, all capable of sensing power—and Yu Yuanzhen's spirit power was enormous.
Level ninety-five.
Yu Yuanzhen's displayed strength was at least that high, possibly higher. The Second Elder's eyes sharpened—he could feel it.
"I am a level ninety-six Assault-type Titled Douluo," Yu Yuanzhen said plainly, hiding nothing.
The room filled with uneasy murmurs. Even Tang Xiao, the strongest of the Clear Sky Sect, was only level ninety-six, while the five elders were barely above ninety.
"So even at ninety-six, you couldn't defeat Luo Ling?" Tang Xiao couldn't help but ask.
A ninety-six-level Titled Douluo stood at the pinnacle of the continent. How could he fail to suppress a Spirit Saint?
And Yu Yuanzhen possessed the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon—one of the most powerful beast spirits, rivaling even the Clear Sky Hammer. The revelation was shocking.
Yu Yuanzhen's face darkened. It wasn't something he liked admitting, but the truth was inescapable.
"Luo Ling's martial spirit is strange," he said solemnly. "A puppet with its own power—it can't be killed. When damaged, it simply regenerates, as long as Luo Ling still has spirit power to fuel it."
"He also possesses multiple domains and domain-based abilities. They cut my strength by more than half. And his invisibility... while hidden, he used his puppet to slaughter my clan's elite forces. I could do nothing to stop him."
Hearing this, the Clear Sky Sect's elders exchanged stunned glances. It sounded nearly impossible—a Spirit Saint holding his own against a Titled Douluo? Such a thing had never happened in all history.
"Luo Ling's martial spirit and domains are indeed terrifying," Tang Hao added. "I witnessed it myself. One of those domains was the Killing God Domain."
"Exactly," Yu Yuanzhen said forcefully. "That's why I need the Clear Sky Sect to join forces with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan to strike the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect!"
"Surely the honored elders of the Clear Sky Sect don't wish to see such a monstrous genius rise under another banner? Once Luo Ling grows, how will your sect still claim the title of number one in the world?"
Faces hardened across the group. The title of "Number One Sect in the World" was their pride—unquestionable and absolute.
"Since Patriarch Yu wishes to strike at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, I assume you already have a plan," the Second Elder said coolly. "Explain it."
Yu Yuanzhen replied evenly, "We'll strike after Luo Ling returns to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. My clan will deploy our warriors to annihilate them. All I need is for the Clear Sky Sect to send Titled Douluo to hold off Sword Douluo, Bone Douluo, and Ning Fengzhi. That shouldn't be too difficult, should it?"
His gaze swept over the five elders. Even so, he couldn't help but feel a trace of wariness.
Before the Clear Sky Sect sealed itself off, only Tang Hao and Tang Xiao had been Titled Douluo, with Tang Chen missing. But now, after years of seclusion, five elders had also broken through.
Based on sheer numbers, the Clear Sky Sect now trailed only behind Spirit Hall—with seven Titled Douluo.
Let them take on Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo. Ideally, both sides would suffer heavy losses. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect would fall—and the Clear Sky Sect's strength would be cut down as well.
The Second Elder fell into thought. He could read Yu Yuanzhen's intentions easily, but chose not to expose it. Instead, he said mildly, "We're willing to assist against the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's Titled Douluo. But afterward, we claim seventy percent of the sect's wealth."
Yu Yuanzhen's face twisted. "Seventy percent? That's far too greedy!"
"We'll be the ones facing their Titled Douluo directly," the Second Elder replied without flinching. "The risk is ours. Anything less than seventy percent, and we see no reason to cooperate. We could destroy the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect ourselves if we wanted."
He wasn't bluffing. The five elders, though low-level Titled Douluo, could easily handle the ninety-five-level Bone Douluo with Ning Fengzhi's support.
As for Sword Douluo, Tang Xiao and Tang Hao combined could take him down. The rest of the sect's powerhouses—aside from Luo Ling—were negligible.
The Clear Sky Sect alone could handle nearly all their upper echelon; Yu Yuanzhen's forces would serve mainly as assistance.
Yu Yuanzhen's face shifted between gloom and fury. After a long silence, he finally gritted his teeth and said, "Fine! Seventy percent it is!"
