Chapter 221: Dugu Feng – "Those Three Soul Bones Are Your Death Warrant!"

"Ning Sect Master, please tend to Xiao San's wounds," Tang Xiao urged anxiously.

No matter what, Tang San's twin spirits had survived intact—a small blessing amid great misfortune.

So long as he continued training step by step, he would become a true powerhouse. He was the Clear Sky Sect's hope for the future.

Ning Fengzhi nodded faintly and once again raised the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda to heal Tang San.

As the healing light poured down, the evidence became clear—it was indeed the work of an evil soul master.

The energy of the external spirit bone had been devoured, as well as part of his life force. Pure evil.

Such a sinister being, powerful and free on the continent, posed a grave threat. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect would need to be far more cautious from now on.

Flender and Yu Xiaogang exchanged weary glances—part grief, part silent rage.

To lose another external spirit bone… there were no words left to say.

Perhaps fate truly denied Tang San his due with such treasures.

Flender sighed quietly to himself.

"Hao," Tang Xiao said, "once Xiao San recovers, return to the sect for a time. With his current level, traveling the continent is far too dangerous."

Tang Hao nodded weakly—this had been his plan all along.

Once Tang San reached the rank of Soul Sect, he would take him to a concealed waterfall where he could train in the Clear Sky Sect's secret arts.

Within the mountain ranges of the sect lay countless waterfalls, all under their protection. It would be the safest place for him.

"Master," Tang Hao turned to Yu Xiaogang, "please continue to guide Xiao San in his cultivation—will you do so?"

"Father…" Tang San said softly, tears in his eyes as he looked to Yu Xiaogang.

Yu Yuan Zhen had sought to kill him, but Yu Xiaogang had thrown himself in the way, saving his life.

This act of sacrifice filled Tang San's heart with warmth—his faith in his teacher had never been stronger.

Yu Xiaogang, of course, was more than willing.

He quickly nodded and said, "The Titled Douluo with the Earth Dragon Spirit must be from Spirit Hall. My father was also manipulated by them.

And that evil soul master in the shadows—he's been provoking and watching us from the start.

Sect Master Tang, Sect Master Ning, I beg you both to think of the greater picture.

If war breaks out now, the one most delighted will be that hidden figure behind all this chaos!"

His words, spoken with tact, were meant to dissuade Tang Xiao from taking revenge against the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan.

Tang Hao's expression turned complex. "I underestimated that hidden soul master.

Even without Yu Yuan Zhen, he might still have attacked once Xiao San gained another external soul bone."

Tang Xiao gradually calmed as well.

If even Ning Fengzhi suspected an unseen faction was manipulating events, then the Clear Sky Sect had to proceed with caution.

His thirst for vengeance eased slightly.

He and Tang Hao shared a single priority now: ensuring Tang San's safe growth under their watchful eyes.

They themselves had only set foot beyond their sect after reaching Soul Saint—because even prodigies needed protection against the predatory factions of the world.

A genius who failed to mature was worthless.

And Tang San's fame as a twin-spirited Soul Sect was already spreading across the continent.

How could other powers not target him? Tang San would have to disappear from public sight for a time.

As everyone silently watched Ning Fengzhi treat Tang San, the atmosphere grew solemn.

Meanwhile, atop the mountain above the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Dugu Feng stood balanced upon the body of an Emerald Dragon Serpent as it glided westward.

His pace was unhurried, as though following prey invisible to the eye.

Moments later, they exited the Sunset Forest and continued toward the southwest.

Another Emerald Dragon Serpent slithered into view to join them—the one that had been tailing Yu Yuan Zhen. The two creatures reunited.

"Master, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon is ahead. That Earth Dragon left earlier—his injuries are serious and there's no one around to heal him. Shall we strike now?"

The serpents' voices hissed with eagerness to prove themselves.

"Since we've come this far, we act—but not yet. We move once he's far from the Sunset Forest," Dugu Feng replied coldly.

If anyone learned that his target was Yu Yuan Zhen, they would deem him insane.

After all, this was the patriarch of the most powerful beast-spirit family on the continent.

And Yu Yuan Zhen possessed three soul bones.

"I've planned too long to stop at just Tang San's external spirit bone. That gain was far too small.

For the Dugu Clan to stand among the Upper Three Sects, one of them must fall.

And the Blue Lightning Clan depends on that old dragon. Once he dies, the Upper Three Sects will lose one."

His calm eyes gleamed like blades.

The two Emerald Dragon Serpents hissed with excitement.

They were about to face a Titled Douluo—this was their moment to shine.

Dugu Feng extended his right hand as multicolored light gathered at his palm, condensing into a pigeon-egg-sized orb—Domination Venom (Ba Du).

The poison shimmered with five-colored light, enveloping everything nearby and masking all traces of movement.

Where even mixed four-color poison could block spiritual detection, this supreme venom concealed him utterly.

Trying to sense it with spiritual power revealed nothing—but to the naked eye, faint hues of color danced in the air.

Even within Yu Yuan Zhen's range of perception, Dugu Feng was confident he would remain unseen.

His movements were steady, patient. There was no risk of losing his target.

Yu Yuan Zhen was heading northwest—toward the Blue Lightning Clan's ancestral domain.

It would take him several days to arrive.

Plenty of time. Plenty of chances to strike.

The Dugu family never attacked openly—they struck from the shadows.

Dugu Feng would do the same. He chose to attack at night.

As the sun dipped beyond the horizon, the serpents split away again to scout ahead for Yu Yuan Zhen's position.

The patriarch never entered any city; he traveled alone through the wilderness.

Dugu Feng guessed he feared detection by the Clear Sky Sect.

That suited him perfectly—it meant no witnesses, no traces afterward.

Yu Yuan Zhen pressed on until late into the night before finally stopping to rest.

Even from afar, Dugu Feng felt a flicker of admiration. Despite his grave injuries, Yu Yuan Zhen ignored the need for healing, driven by devotion to his clan's safety.

"An innocent man with treasure invites disaster. Those three soul bones within you—they're your death warrant."

Dugu Feng's voice murmured low as he crouched atop his serpent, hovering inches above the ground, silent as death.

The sky was moonless, the wind biting cold. His figure blended into the shadows as the second serpent guided him closer to the resting Blue Lightning patriarch.

The rainbow glow of the Domination Venom dimmed beneath layers of concealment.

Step by step, Dugu Feng approached.

He drew the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass and Fiery Apricot from his belt—one seething with chilling frost, the other radiating scorching heat—both ready to unleash elemental poison.

His heart pounded hard against his ribs.

"Serpent Breath."

His blood cooled, body turning icy still.

Now was not the time for emotion.

Even the faintest sound could alert Yu Yuan Zhen.

In the shadows, only a single principle mattered: approach unseen, and kill with one blow.

Just as Old Snake had taught him from childhood.
