Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: The Youngest Tier Seven Alchemist

Chapter 77: The Youngest Tier Seven Alchemist

The black and white flames burned fiercely within the cauldron as Xiao Yan waved his hand, tossing the Transformation Herb into the furnace.

The herb, jade green like emerald, contained an extraordinary medicinal power. As it fell into the flames, a faint green glow emanated from it, resisting the searing heat.

"If I hadn't refined the Yin Yang Sacred Flame, this might've been quite tricky. But now…" Xiao Yan smiled faintly as the temperature of the Yin Yang Sacred Flame within the cauldron surged dramatically.

Half an hour later, the green glow surrounding the herb began to weaken. Another half hour passed before the Transformation Herb finally broke apart with a faint pop, releasing tiny, crystal like green particles.

"The power of Heavenly Flames truly is incredible," Xiao Yan thought, satisfied.

In the past, refining this single herb might have taken him an entire day and night.

Carefully placing the green particles into a jade bottle, Xiao Yan turned to the rest of the ingredients, adding them to the cauldron one by one.

The Yin Yang Sacred Flame roared on, and after several hours, the materials had been thoroughly refined.

The next step was the most critical: fusing them into a nascent pill.

After a brief rest, Xiao Yan reignited the flames.

Having absorbed the Yin Yang Sacred Flame, his Flame Mantra had evolved to the high grade of the Mysterious Tier. While not a top tier technique, it now provided precise flame control comparable to mid grade Earth Tier methods.

Combined with the unique nature of the Flame Mantra, Xiao Yan's Dou Qi reserves were substantial enough to sustain even the most grueling alchemy.

With nearly a hundred materials entering the cauldron, the black and white flames swirled and enveloped them. Before long, a large, glue like mass began to take shape.

"It's almost done!" Xiao Yan's heart raced as he carefully controlled the Yin Yang Sacred Flame to roast the mass.

Hours passed, and the sun dipped below the horizon, giving way to twilight. Within the cauldron, the black and white flames still burned brightly.

Gradually, the gluey substance shrank and solidified into a nascent pill about the size of a fist.

"Remarkable! To achieve this at such a young age Yao Chen must have been absurdly lucky to take on such a disciple," Xuan Kongzi remarked with admiration from afar.

But not everyone was as relaxed. Yao Lao, who had been silently observing, suddenly furrowed his brow.

Moments later, the nascent pill trembled, and a powerful surge of energy began to build within it.

Xiao Yan's calm demeanor faltered slightly as the Transformation Pill emitted a faint hum.

"It's going to explode!" one of the onlookers exclaimed in alarm.

Seven Tier pills contained immense energy. If the pill were to explode, it would unleash a force comparable to a peak Dou Wang self destructing.

Xiao Yan quickly summoned his formidable soul energy to suppress the instability. Yet, the more he suppressed it, the more volatile the pill became.

Suddenly, a blinding white light erupted from the cauldron, accompanied by a violent energy wave.

Just as Yao Lao prepared to intervene, an even stronger aura emerged beside Xiao Yan.

It was Xiao Wu.

The half saint stepped out of the void, pressing his hand against the air. The surrounding space solidified, and a crack appeared, swallowing the explosion's devastating energy.

In an instant, what could have been a disaster comparable to a Tier Seven pill explosion was neutralized.

"..."

The crowd of alchemists stared in stunned silence.

Who else but Xiao Yan could summon a half saint to guard against pill explosions?

And to top it off, he also had a near Tier Nine alchemist Yao Lao personally overseeing his attempt.

After dealing with the aftermath, Xiao Wu nodded at Xiao Yan before vanishing into the void again.

"Don't be discouraged. Mistakes are normal when refining a Tier Seven pill for the first time," Yao Lao said calmly, his tone professional.

Xiao Yan nodded, sitting cross legged to recover his Dou Qi and soul energy. Even with his strength, refining a Tier Seven pill left him feeling drained.

As the night passed, Xiao Yan meticulously replayed the earlier process in his mind, identifying areas where he had gone wrong.

By morning, he opened his eyes, his gaze steady and confident.

"Begin!" he commanded.

Black and white flames roared to life in the cauldron once again. Xiao Yan worked methodically, repeating the same steps as before. However, this time, he adjusted the flame's intensity multiple times during the fusion phase.

Those with sharp eyes noticed the subtle changes, including Yao Lao, who smiled faintly.

As the day wore on, a nascent pill once again formed inside the cauldron. Xiao Yan's movements remained precise and deliberate.

When the pill reached its final stages, Xiao Yan's hand seals shifted. The Yin Yang Sacred Flame split into two streams, manifesting as black and white fish circling the pill.

"It's the Yin Yang Fish!" the onlookers murmured in awe.

The Yin Yang Fish, a unique trait of the Yin Yang Sacred Flame, created a harmonious balance of heat and cold. The pill within the cauldron seemed to exude a natural, rhythmic energy.

As the last rays of sunlight faded, a deep, resonant chime echoed from within the cauldron.

Above it, dark clouds began to gather, blotting out the sky.

"Dan Thunder it's Dan Thunder!" someone gasped.

The crowd watched in reverent silence, their eyes shifting to the black clad boy beneath the brewing storm.

Even Yao Lao's breath quickened as he stared at the scene, his emotions a mix of pride and excitement.

With a deafening boom, a silver bolt of lightning illuminated the night.

In that moment, the youngest Tier Seven alchemist in the history of the Dou Qi Continent was born!
