Chapter 134 - Chapter 134: Did Xiao Yi Xian Leave?

Chapter 134: Did Xiao Yi Xian Leave?

"I I don't know!" The old woman's spectral form glanced at the skeleton before her with a flicker of surprise, but her expression quickly shifted into one of helplessness and pity.

"Don't know?" Xiao Wu sneered, his tone mocking.

"Well, that's easy! Your Soul Clan's soul bone technique has been thoroughly studied by our Xiao Clan. Don't think you can keep secrets from us!"

At Xiao Wu's words, the old woman's spectral face twisted with fear.

"I I'll talk, I'll…" she stammered, but before she could finish, a needle formed of Dou Qi pierced her spectral form.

"AHHH!" A sharp scream escaped her as her spectral form dimmed significantly.

The soul bone technique that Xiao Wu used extracted a thread of the woman's soul essence. This essence would then serve as a guide to confirm whether others had any ties to the Soul Clan.

Xiao Wu held the glowing thread in his hand and inscribed several seals in the air. The glowing thread transformed into a beam of light that shot into the nearby skeleton.

As the light entered the bones, they began to radiate a crystalline glow, as if nourished by the essence.

"Young Master! This person indeed possesses the bloodline of the Soul Clan!" Xiao Wen confirmed with a nod, his expression serious.

"However, their strength in life doesn't appear to have been particularly high. At most, they were a Dou Shi or Dou Ling, but certainly not a Dou Wang." Xiao Wen paused to analyze the situation further.

"I see," Xiao Yan murmured, furrowing his brows as he turned his attention to the black iron token he held.

"Is there any way to use this token to locate the Soul Clan?" he asked, handing the token to Xiao Wen.

Xiao Wen examined the token carefully, then shook his head. "This token appears to have been used to store a sliver of soul power. Unfortunately, with the owner's death, the soul power within has long since dissipated."

"I see." Xiao Yan sighed with regret but soon furrowed his brows more deeply.

A mere Dou Shi or Dou Ling level Soul Clan remnant wasn't worth much concern. As long as Xiao Xuan remained in the Dou Qi Continent, the Soul Clan wouldn't rise again.

What troubled Xiao Yan more was how this Soul Clan member had obtained firearms advanced weapons from Earth.

The presence of these weapons suggested a disturbing possibility: there might be another Earth transmigrator or even a group of them on the Dou Qi Continent, and they were potentially allied with the Soul Clan.

Xiao Yan couldn't gauge how much influence a single transmigrator could exert on the Soul Clan, but he knew well enough how his presence had influenced the Xiao Clan.

"Could this be fate arranging an adversary for me?" Xiao Yan thought, a faint sense of crisis welling up in his heart. Countless scenarios from novels flashed through his mind.

"But this person isn't in Wu Tan City…" Xiao Yan pondered, trying to connect the dots. His thoughts briefly drifted to Hun Xin, but that girl's sole talent seemed to be eating, and she posed no immediate threat.

"So where is this supposed antagonist hiding?" Xiao Yan's mind swirled with confusion.

The idea of the Soul Clan having access to firearms unnerved him. It was as if a plot twist from a story had manifested in real life.

Still, there was a silver lining: the existence of another transmigrator was a possibility, not yet a certainty. Even if there were one, the other party likely didn't know Xiao Yan shared their origin.

"This is going to be a thrilling game of werewolf," Xiao Yan mused, narrowing his eyes. "Whether this person is friend or foe depends on what I uncover about their identity."

If this other transmigrator could align with him, Xiao Yan wouldn't mind working together. But if they were on opposing sides…

"Well, I'll strike first to ensure my survival." Xiao Yan smirked coldly.

The firearms alone were proof that this person's skills likely surpassed his. That thought alone sent a chill down Xiao Yan's spine.

"Forget it. Let's head back," Xiao Yan said, waving his hand. Xiao Wen and Xiao Wu nodded, disappearing silently into the void.

"Gulp." Mu She swallowed audibly, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

He had long given up trying to understand the boy's background. All he knew was that this young man could kill him or wipe out the entire Wolfhead Mercenary Group with a single thought.

"Do you need anything else, my lord?" Mu She asked cautiously, his tone subservient.

Xiao Yan glanced at him, his eyes cold but thoughtful. "No, that will be all."

He casually tossed two Qi Gathering Pills to Mu She.

"You've provided valuable information, so consider this your reward. But those mysterious weapons? They aren't something you can afford to possess. Keeping them will only bring you disaster. I'll be taking them."

"Of course, my lord! They're all yours!" Mu She said quickly, nodding like a pecking chicken.

Xiao Yan nodded and added, "And remember don't let me catch your group causing trouble again. Otherwise, I'll come back and wipe out the Wolfhead Mercenary Group."

"Yes, my lord! From now on, we'll only do good deeds and won't even touch alcohol or meat!" Mu She pledged, trembling.

"No need to go that far."

Having accomplished his goals, Xiao Yan lost interest in Mu She. With a flap of his Dou Qi wings, he soared into the sky, leaving the Wolfhead Mercenary Group far behind.

Returning to the herb gathering team didn't take long with Xiao Yan's speed. However, upon landing, he immediately noticed that Xiao Yi Xian was nowhere to be seen.

"Where's Xiao Yi Xian?" he asked an older mercenary.

"S she…" the mercenary stammered under Xiao Yan's intense gaze.

"Where is she?" Xiao Yan's tone grew sharper, his irritation evident.

Having already been burdened with thoughts of the Soul Clan and firearms, Xiao Yan's mood had soured. Now, learning that Xiao Yi Xian had disappeared pushed him further into frustration.

"After you left, we suggested she consider staying with you. But she suddenly seemed very upset and left riding a blue eagle not long after…" the mercenary explained nervously, clearly intimidated by Xiao Yan.

"Rode a blue eagle and left?" Xiao Yan's brows furrowed, but then his eyes brightened as realization struck him.

"I see." His expression softened as he turned back to the mercenaries. Reaching into his storage ring, he tossed out several second tier magic beast cores.

"These are for you. Split them among yourselves, but do it fairly. Don't make me regret this."

The mercenaries stared in shock and awe as the valuable cores landed before them. Before they could react, Xiao Yan had already taken off, flying into the distance.
