Chapter 175 - Chapter 175: Call for Reinforcements!

Chapter 175: Call for Reinforcements!

In the boundless sea of yellow sand, an ancient city stood silently. This city, buried in the desert for thousands of years, was now the site of a terrifying conflict.

A thousand foot long purple serpent radiating a demonic glow slithered outside the city, while within, a massive skeletal serpent glared back at it with empty, glowing sockets.

The two serpents, like ancient titanic dragons, towered into the sky, their presence exuding an overwhelming sense of oppression.

"Cai Yu, I see you've fused with that corpse. No wonder you've managed to survive all these years," sneered the massive purple serpent, its deep brown eyes locked coldly on the skeletal serpent. "But even so, do you think that will stop me?

"Our master has been dead for thousands of years. Do you really think this pile of old bones can still threaten me?"

Mockery laced the purple serpent's words, and its voice echoed disdainfully across the desert. To Zi Ran, anything standing between him and greater power was destined to be eradicated.

Even though he couldn't kill the young man from the Xiao Clan due to potential repercussions, the boy posed no significant obstacle to his plans.

"Ha! Even if my father is but a pile of bones, killing a traitor like you would still be effortless," Cai Yu retorted from atop the skeletal serpent's head, her gaze sharp with both caution and murderous intent.

"Hmph! Since you're so stubborn, don't blame me for being ruthless. It's a pity your master's corpse will be destroyed because of you!"

With those words, the massive purple serpent acted without hesitation. Its enormous tail, glowing with terrifying energy, lashed out like a whip, aiming to obliterate everything in its path, including the ancient city and all within it.

The sheer force of the strike caused the surrounding space to distort and fracture.

"Watch out, Young Master!" The Wen and Wu Saints reacted instantly, combining their powers to create a water fire shield around Xiao Yan.

While the two Half Saint powerhouses couldn't defeat Zi Ran, they could at least hold off his attacks momentarily. They ensured that the residual energy from the battle wouldn't harm Xiao Yan or those near him.

Xiao Yan stood silently within the protective shield, his expression dark and menacing. Behind him, the three snake women Queen Medusa, Yue Mei, and Hua She'er watched nervously. However, Xiao Yan had no time to concern himself with their unease.

For the first time since leaving the Xiao Clan, someone dared to disregard him so brazenly.

"You think you're untouchable, don't you?" Xiao Yan muttered coldly, his gaze narrowing as he glared at the purple serpent.

Inside, his mind churned with malicious ideas. Xiao Yan was not a forgiving person especially toward those who opposed him. When faced with enemies, he always sought to crush them utterly.

The massive tail swept closer with terrifying momentum. Cai Yu's face grew stern, and the skeletal serpent rose to meet the attack.

"Boom!"

The two colossal tails collided mid air, producing a deafening explosion. A visible shockwave rippled outward from the impact, lifting layers of sand into the air.

A moment later, another wave of energy erupted from the ancient city, spreading outward like a tidal wave and shaking the surrounding desert for miles.

The yellow sand, disturbed by the collision, churned like a stormy sea. Overhead, the fractured sky resembled a shattered mirror, its pieces glinting ominously.

After the first exchange, the purple serpent was forced to retreat slightly. Zi Ran's enormous eyes filled with disbelief as he stared at Cai Yu, standing atop the skeletal serpent.

"Impossible! He's been dead for thousands of years. How can this corpse still possess such power? This can't be!" Zi Ran roared, his deep voice echoing across the battlefield.

"Ha! There are many things beyond your comprehension," Cai Yu taunted, though her aura had subtly weakened after the clash. Despite her diminishing strength, her confidence remained unshaken.

"My father always knew you were untrustworthy. Do you think he would've taught you everything?"

Zi Ran's eyes flashed with murderous rage.

"Ha! So the old man really didn't trust me! I knew it!" Zi Ran's voice grew maniacal, his pupils narrowing as his anger boiled over.

Xiao Yan's Thoughts

Inside the protective shield, Xiao Yan's face grew colder by the second. Watching the purple serpent's frenzied attacks and Cai Yu's weakened state, he knew this battle would not end well if things continued like this.

For the first time in a long while, Xiao Yan felt the sting of helplessness. He clenched his fists tightly, the veins on his arms bulging.

"Can't defeat him? Then I'll get someone who can," he murmured.

Xiao Yan had a ruthless streak when it came to dealing with his enemies. If brute force wasn't enough, he would resort to whatever means necessary to turn the tide in his favor.

Without hesitation, Xiao Yan reached into his storage ring and retrieved a small communication jade.

"Wen Lao, Wu Lao, keep holding him off. I'm calling for reinforcements!" Xiao Yan ordered sharply, his voice devoid of doubt or hesitation.

The Wen and Wu Saints exchanged a glance, then nodded grimly. "Understood, Young Master."

Summoning Aid

Xiao Yan activated the jade. A faint glow emanated from it as he infused it with his spiritual energy. The artifact quickly established a link with the Xiao Clan's communication network.

"Xiao Chen, I need assistance!" Xiao Yan's voice was cold and commanding as he spoke into the jade.

On the other end, a calm and deep voice responded almost immediately. "Understood. Who's the opponent?"

"A Dou Saint one star mid tier, and a serpent type magical beast at that. This isn't a battle we can win without help."

There was a pause before Xiao Chen's voice returned, this time with a hint of resolve.

"Understood. Reinforcements will arrive shortly. Hold your position, Young Master."

Xiao Yan lowered the jade, his cold gaze fixed on the massive serpent looming above the battlefield.

"Zi Ran, enjoy your moment of arrogance. Soon, you'll wish you never crossed the Xiao Clan."

"Master, if that's the case, don't blame me for destroying your corpse today!"

With a roar, the massive purple serpent radiated dazzling seven colored light, its body surging with terrifying power.

"Today, I will use the very Dou Technique you taught me to annihilate you!"

"Heaven Tier Low Level Dou Technique: Seven Colored Saint Cutting Light!"

As the words left his mouth, a horrifying crescent shaped arc of light, spanning over a thousand feet, materialized. It shimmered with seven dazzling hues and surged toward the ancient city, its momentum awe inspiring and destructive.

Even the expressions of the Wen and Wu Saints darkened. A Heaven Tier Dou Technique executed by a Dou Saint such an attack was beyond their ability to withstand. Even if they joined forces, they would likely suffer grievous injuries or even perish.

Yet, facing this apocalyptic strike, Cai Yu merely narrowed her eyes.

"Zi Ran, have you forgotten who taught you that Heaven Tier Dou Technique? Using the techniques of our Seven Colored Clan against us how utterly foolish!"

She sneered coldly as the skeletal serpent beneath her began to glow with an even brighter and more vivid seven colored radiance.

The next moment, with a subtle flick of its colossal skeletal tail, an equally immense seven colored crescent brighter and more refined arced through the air toward the purple serpent's attack.

From the perspective of the three snake women behind Xiao Yan, the scene unfolding before them was nothing short of breathtaking.

Two colossal seven colored crescents tore through space itself as they hurtled toward each other. When they collided, the world seemed to hold its breath, plunging into an eerie silence.

"BOOM!"

An earth shattering explosion shattered the stillness. A catastrophic storm of seven colored energy erupted at the point of impact, its destructive force reducing space itself to fragile, torn fragments.

The ancient city they stood within fared no better. In the face of this apocalyptic energy storm, its once proud walls and structures crumbled like brittle tofu. Entire sections of the city were obliterated, turning into fine sand that was swept away, disappearing into the endless expanse of the Tagore Desert.

Nearly a third of the massive ancient city was destroyed in an instant.

The surrounding desert was caught in the aftermath. Waves of sand, rising as high as a hundred meters, rippled outward like the surface of a lake struck by a boulder. The ripples extended for miles, leaving the desert landscape marred by chaotic patterns.

As the clash subsided, a single, faintly glowing seven colored crescent emerged from the dissipating energy storm. It tore through the chaotic space, hurtling straight toward the purple serpent.

Zi Ran's eyes widened in shock as the crescent slashed across his massive body.

Though the seven colored crescent was weakened, its razor sharp energy was still fearsome enough to leave a ghastly, hundred foot long wound across the serpent's scaly frame.

"Splaaash!"

Blood gushed from the wound like a flood breaking through a dam, staining the golden sands around the city a deep crimson.

"How is this possible? Your clan is in decline, yet you still managed to injure me!" Zi Ran's voice trembled with disbelief and dread.

"I told you before, even though my father has fallen, killing you is still as easy as turning my hand!" Cai Yu's voice rang cold and unyielding.

However, unleashing the Heaven Tier Dou Technique had taken a toll on her. Her aura noticeably weakened, and she swayed slightly atop the skeletal serpent. Despite this, her eyes remained as sharp as ever, brimming with resolve.

The purple serpent let out an anguished roar and reverted to its human form. Zi Ran, now a figure draped in a purple robe, bore a ghastly wound that stretched from his shoulder to his abdomen. Blood seeped relentlessly from the gash, yet his expression was icy and vengeful.

"Your lifespan is nearly spent. Every time you summon such power, you burn away what remains of your life. Let's see how many more times you can attack me!" he spat venomously.

"I don't need many just one more is enough to finish you," Cai Yu retorted with a sneer.

Her words made Zi Ran's face pale.

If Cai Yu truly unleashed another strike of that magnitude, he might not survive.

"Fine! You Seven Colored fools truly live up to your stubborn reputation. If that's the case, I'll wait you out! Let's see how long you can hold on!"

With a cold laugh, Zi Ran's figure shimmered before vanishing into thin air, slipping into the fractured space to avoid further conflict.

Xiao Yan Takes Action

Watching Zi Ran retreat into the broken spatial fabric, Xiao Yan's expression turned cold. His clenched fists trembled with suppressed fury.

"Wait it out?" Xiao Yan's lips curled into a frosty smile.

"You think you'll get that chance?"

Turning his gaze toward Wen Lao, his voice was deliberate and commanding, each word spoken with force.

"Wen Lao."

"Yes, Young Master?" Wen Lao replied, his tone equally grave.

Xiao Yan's eyes narrowed, his smile growing colder.

"Call for reinforcements. Now!"
