Chapter 184 - The gods (184)

Tobirama moved at lightning speed, blurring across the courtyard to catch Ayame before her body could hit the stone floor.

"Ayame, are you okay?!" he asked, his voice laced with rare panic as his hands quickly scanned her for injuries. Several deep puncture wounds tore through her chest—a terrifying sight. Lunarians possessed legendary durability, so for arrows to cause this much damage meant an absurd amount of power had been forced into the strike.

Ayame coughed up a splatter of blood, her breath coming out ragged. "I'm... fine."

Tobirama exhaled a heavy sigh of relief. Even though his wife had just taken a brutal, execution-style impalement through the torso, her ancient lineage meant she would survive. A few days of dedicated healing, and she would be back on her feet.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The surrounding air shattered under the weight of an unholy, monstrous fury.

The entity before them swelled, dark and grotesque, twisting space itself as Imu fully unleashed his abyssal form. Shadowy miasma erupted in violent, concussive waves, crushing the bedrock and sending deep cracks splintering outward toward the horizon.

"Thou insolent worms!" Imu's voice thundered, echoing not as mere sound, but as a bone-rattling vibration that shook the earth to its core. It dripped with ancient malice and absolute disdain.

"Dost thou truly believe thy fragile lives may taint the canvas of My design? Thou art but foul blights upon this world—unworthy insects crawling amidst the grand architecture of My eternal dominion! A world immaculate, forged by My divine hand, hath no place for such persistent vermin! Thou hast dared to bleed upon My sanctuary! Thou hast dared to resist the absolute order of thy Master! Nay, I shall tolerate thy existence no longer! No bone shall remain, no ash shall be remembered, nor shall the wind whisper the names of those who sought to challenge a god! I shall rend thy very souls from this earth, until naught remains of thy wretched defiance!"

Tobirama stood tall, stared directly at the towering god, and casually raised his middle finger.

"Stop throwing a tantrum. Frankly, it's not a good look for you, 'King of the World,'" Tobirama mocked, his rage-baiting leveled to the absolute maximum.

Imu bristled, preparing to wipe out everyone present, though the ancient sovereign knew that if the entire Lunarian army jumped him at once, he could actually fall. Imu knew a thing or two about the effectiveness of jumping someone, considering what he and the twenty kings had done to Joyboy eight centuries ago.

"And frankly, you're in no position to argue," Tobirama added smoothly.

The golden Haki chains flared, surging up from the cracked earth to wrap around Imu's limbs once again.

"Don't know if you noticed, Your Majesty, but you're completely surrounded." Tobirama, after gently setting his wife down, began rapidly weaving a complex sequence of hand seals. "And unlike the rest of the world... we actually know how you tick."

Imu's multi-ringed eyes narrowed as he recognized those exact hand seals. The Flying Raijin. Imu quickly checked his own form... and his heart plummeted. Tobirama had already etched two teleportation formulas—one directly on Imu's demonic core, and another on the host body of Nerona.

Shit.

"How about we end this, shall we?" Tobirama sneered. His strategy was absolute: use the Flying Raijin to instantly teleport Imu's spiritual core and Nerona's physical vessel to two completely isolated, opposing ends of the realm, severing the link forever and destroying the demon's anchor.

Imu had no counter for the technique... or so it seemed.

"Thou art a fool to assume Mu came alone," Imu whispered, a cold smile spreading across his shadowed face.

Tobirama's eyes widened in sudden realization. Where was the girl?!

A harsh mechanical chime rang through the mountain air.

{WARNING: PRIMARY BARRIERS HAVE BEEN DEACTIVATED.}

With the ancient defensive arrays completely shut down from the inside, the entire sky turned pitch-black. Dozens of glowing, crimson abyssal circles ripped open across every square inch of the city. Darkness flooded the streets, twisting nearby civilians into helpless, corrupted shells under the wave of Domi Reversi.

Tobirama halted his hand seals, his sharp gaze sweeping across the catastrophic breach.

The sky flared with the blinding glow of massive summoning sigils as spatial distortions tore open above every sector. Black, abyssal flames spewed from the pentagrams, smothering the atmosphere under a suffocating wave of Conqueror's Haki.

Through the hellish portals, five towering, monstrous silhouettes materialized—the Gorosei, fully unveiled in their terrifying, awakened Yokai forms:

St. Jaygarcia Saturn – The Gyūki: A massive, terrifying bull-spider hybrid with razor-sharp legs and corrosive venom dripping from his fangs.

St. Topman Warcury – The Hōki: A gigantic, heavily armored boar with massive tusks capable of shattering fortresses through sheer momentum.

St. Marcus Mars – The Itsumade: A soaring, skeletal avian monstrosity with hellfire coursing along its massive wingspan.

St. Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro – The Bakotsu: A terrifying skeletal centaur wielding a black Meito blade, radiating a freezing, ghostly aura.

St. Shepherd Ju Peter – The Sandworm: A subterranean behemoth capable of swallowing entire landmasses whole with rows of razor-sharp teeth.

Before the dust could even settle, another wave of dark magic burst through the streets as the God's Knights arrived, empowered directly by Imu's dark grace into their monstrous, battle-ready forms:

St. Figarland Garling: The Supreme Commander, standing fully transformed into a massive, winged demon beast clad in obsidian plate, wielding his curved blade as black lightning Haki surged wildly around him.

St. Figarland Shamrock: Standing alongside his mutated, three-headed saber Cerberus, his body warped into a towering canine warlord.

St. Manmayer Gunko: Surrounded by floating, razor-sharp bandage-arrows, her aura radiating cold malice as her skin turned pitch-black.

St. Shepherd Sommers: Transformed into a hulking, thorn-covered brute, thick thorny vines bursting out from his flesh to demolish the surrounding architecture.

St. Rimoshifu Killingham: Unleashing his Qilin form, a glowing, draconic-hoofed monster surrounded by nightmare-inducing miasma.

St. Satchels Maffey: A massive, horned demoness whose jaws glowed with concentrated energy rays.

St. Donquixote Vane: A hulking, four-armed shadow-golem covered in abyssal spikes, smashing through the stone streets upon landing.

St. Nefertari Malakor: A tall, winged mummified chimera, trailing cursed sand and dark flames that withered everything they touched.

The entire city trembled as the absolute peak of the World Government's military might descended at once, locking Tobirama and the surviving Lunarians in a desperate, apocalyptic fight for survival.
