June's POV
"I warned you to stay away from the twin brothers. They can't help you."
"Who are you? Why am I here?" I asked, the darkness blinding my eyes preventing me from seeing.
"Does it matter? Your stubbornness brought you into this mess."
"Do you think I want all of this? I tried to get away. They wouldn't give up, and kept coming after me until they caught me. What did you expect me to do?"
"I can help you, if you let me."
"And why should I trust you? I can't even see you."
"You don't have to trust me. But know this, the twin brothers. You would have changed your fate if you stayed away from them."
"I haven't met any twin brothers. I thought fate can't be changed?" I asked curiously.
"That's bullshit. I changed mine." he said, confusing me the most.
"June, let me in. Only I can help you. You and I, we belong together."
"You keep saying this. How do we belong together?"
"You'll know soon enough."
"Who are you?" I asked.
"You ask too many questions, little shewolf. I wish you had listened to me." He said, his voice sounding familiar, as my mind matched a face to it. I shivered, knowing the image that appeared in my mind.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked,
"Because you and I are one. I'm trying to protect you from this cruel world."
"I don't need your protection. Let me go. I can take care of myself." I snapped.
"Stay away from the Alpha brothers. They would ruin you. Your fate is doomed with them. Only I can help you." His deep hoarse voice echoed in my head.
The smell of food wafted into my nose causing me to sniff in the air lingering grudgingly. My stomach ached and I could hear it making angry rumble noises.
I recalled how I had trashed the food brought to me earlier. I regretted my actions. If only I had eaten.
The room smelled of delicious food causing me to force my eyes open. But what met me wasn't a tray of food but a man. No, not a man, he looked like a god. Maybe he was the god of beauty.
Flawless skin. Sharp, refined features. Deep-set eyes framed by strikingly thick eyebrows. He was meticulously sculpted to perfection. A small mole at the corner of his eye added a touch of mystery.
He was six feet five inches tall, slender but with a solid muscular frame. His abs pushed out from the white shirt he wore.
His looks were beyond anything I'd ever seen. No word could fit his beauty. He was breathtakingly gorgeous. I held myself back from asking him if he was a god. I was lost in my imaginations and forgot everything concerning food.
"Hey kitten." He called, his slim lips curved at the side as he smirked, and I was swept off my feet engrossed in the beauty of this man.
I swayed out of my unreal thoughts when I noticed the energy that swirled around him. The same one that surrounded the Alpha, only that this one was weaker. I frozed. Moving back as my eyes remained on him.
If he was an Alpha. Then I don't want him anywhere near me.
"Tsk. Chill kitten. I'm not here to hurt you." He said. "I only brought you food. The maid reported you spilled your meal intentionally. So I decided to bring this one myself." He said in a deep voice characterised by a mild tone.
I couldn't help but agree that his voice was as beautiful as he looked. But that didn't ease the panic I was in. I wanted him out of the room at that moment.
"That's not happening. I will watch you eat." He said, and my eyebrows creased. Was he reading my thoughts?
"I–I don't want to eat." I said, even though my stomach disagreed with my statement.
"Why? Because you're scared. Scared of what we would do to you? Come on, kitten. No one is planning to hurt you here. We are only trying to help you. To keep you safe."
"Your actions contradict your words. You kidnapped me, remember," The events of how I got here replayed in my mind. He dared to say he was helping me. Was this help in their own world?
"Kitten, Just eat your food, and before you say you've lost appetite; have a taste first." He said, and my eyes darted to the food tray by my side on the mattress.
My head was hurting from the constant strikes of hunger. Saliva filled my mouth at the delicious sight before me, in my mind I had already started eating.
I remembered how Jossy and I and the other she wolves watched how these meals were prepared on television.
But then I remembered my resolve not to eat anything. I wasn't going to eat unless I leave here.
"You'll need strength to leave here, kitten. You're already weak. If you continue starving yourself you'll be weaker and won't be able to go far before you're caught." He said.
I wasn't just scared. I hated that he knew my thoughts. It creeped me out. I couldn't say he read my thoughts, it could just be a coincidence. I stared back at the food.
"Yeah go on honey, I want a review when you're done eating." He said, sitting on the mattress, and I shifted farther from him dragging the food tray with me.
"Just a taste." I said, thinking a few bites of sausage and sips of fresh juice would quench the ravaging hunger I was feeling.
I took the sausage, "Start with the macaroni and cheese." He said. I became annoyed, he was dictating what I should eat. I hated it.
I started eating and was surprised how good it tasted. My stomach advocated for more, the few spoons I had taken in the name of tasting wasn't enough. I didn't know when I started digging in more spoons. All I knew was that the plate was now empty.
My eyes widened as I realised what had happened, they quickly darted to the handsome man and he was laughing mildly, making him deadly handsome.
I felt embarrassed. Bowing my head in shame as I dropped the spoon. I only wanted a taste but now I'd finished the food. The more he laughed, the more I felt like the ground should open up and swallow me.
His hands pulled my face up forcing me to stare at his golden eyes. "I understand." he said, "It happens to everyone." he encouraged and stood up. "Finish up."
"I don't want to eat anymore. I'm full." I lied.
"No you're not. You better eat now. You might not get food anymore. Remember, you need strength to leave this place." He said. I hated how he used that as an excuse to make me eat.
But I couldn't help it. The apple pie really did look sumptuous. I guess I would just have a taste and that'd be all.
I bit off the apple pie and the taste was mind blowing. My taste buds thanked me for giving it a chance and in no time I consumed everything on the tray.
"You're such a foodie." He remarked, and the remnants of the food stuck in my throat. He made me eat and now he's calling me a foodie.
"You will choke. Let it down." He hadn't even finished his sentence when the food passed the wrong pipe and I began to cough roughly.
"Here," He poured me a glass of water and I drank, feeling relieved.
"How are you?" he asked.
"Better." I replied.
"And the food? I want your review about it."
"It was awesome." I replied, trying hard not to laugh.
"You love it, right?" I nodded, unable to control how I responded to him. He was irresistible, and kept forcing replies out of me even when I didn't want to.
He smiled, my eyes lingered around his tiny pink lips. They looked so soft.
"I made them specially for you."
His eyes flickered, and I got worried, wondering what was happening to him. Soon it became normal.
"I loved watching you eat my food," he said smiling and I nodded, and watched him leave the room.
I was stunned. Wondering what he meant by I made them specially for you. Hoping it wasn't what I was thinking because I've never heard of Alpha's being in the kitchen not to talk of cooking for someone they abducted or a slave.
Maybe I mistook him for an Alpha but the thoughts of why he had the aura of an alpha lingered in my mind.
I was sure I already met the Alpha. Could it be that the pack had two Alphas? How was that even possible?
I remembered the horrible dreams I'd been having, they replayed in my mind like music on repeat, his voice rang in my head like a bell. They sounded familiar like that of the Alpha.
Could it be that the strange faceless man was the Alpha?
