Chapter 19 - Honorary Vice-Captain of the Knights

"What a pity, we only got to try a few moves," Yun Han said, looking in the direction Dvalin had fled. His words earned a glare from Venti, and looks of shock from Diluc and Jean.

"What do you plan to do next?" Yun Han asked Venti.

Venti gave him a mournful look, then sighed. "There's only one place Dvalin could go. We should head there and find it, we need to cleanse the poison from it."

"Stormterror's Lair!"

At a certain cliff.

"Your... Your Highness!" A disheveled figure appeared behind the golden-haired young man.

"What happened? What condition are you in?" Aether frowned.

"Your Highness, that wind dragon was supposed to become your servant. However, someone interfered with our plans. He also said..."

The Abyss Mage hesitated.

"Said what?" Aether looked at him.

"Your Highness, that person knows your plan. He also said that we shouldn't show ourselves in front of him, or else... he would truly destroy us..." The Abyss Mage glanced at Aether.

Aether's expression remained neutral, but a hint of killing intent flashed in his eyes.

"An unexpected guy, trying to stop me?" Aether's face darkened.

Suddenly, the Abyss Mage began rolling around on the ground in agony.

"Your Highness... Ah— Your Highness, save me…" A burst of flames erupted from the Abyss Mage, instantly engulfing him.

In a moment, the Abyss Mage in front of Aether turned into a pile of ashes.

"A show of force?" Aether's expression was uncertain; this guy's methods were a bit strange.

"Say, do I need to go this time?" Yun Han looked at Venti, a look of eagerness on his face.

"No need at all!!" Venti and Jean said in unison.

"Yes, thank you very much for your help. We'll take care of it from here. Please, Sir Yun Han, rest at the tavern for now," Jean said quickly.

"The drinks are on me," Diluc actually nodded in agreement.

"Alright, then I'll wait for your good news." Yun Han looked at them with a smile, then walked to the side and asked the bartender for a glass of apple juice.

With Diluc speaking up, the bartender was more than happy to give him free refills. It would be a waste not to drink them.

"Let's go, quickly," Venti said urgently to Jean and the others, and immediately pushed open the door and left.

Everyone hurried to follow, as if there was some terrifying presence behind them.

"Seriously, am I that scary? They're acting like I'm some kind of monster," Yun Han pouted.

He didn't realize that his brutal beating of Dvalin had left Venti, Jean, and the others with an impression even more terrifying than encountering a ferocious beast.

If he were to go to Stormterror's Lair with them, whether Dvalin could even survive would be a question.

On the other side, this time the Skyward Lyre wasn't damaged, and Venti and the others passed through the wind barrier smoothly, arriving at the top of the tower.

It seemed Dvalin sensed Venti and the others nearby, because at first, it refused to show itself.

Venti had no choice but to bring up Yun Han's name, saying he would call Yun Han over.

Unexpectedly, it worked surprisingly well. Dvalin flew out on its own after hearing this, though its condition was still not great. Clearly, Yun Han had left a rather deep impression on it.

Venti first soothed Dvalin for a while, and then, with Lumine's help, successfully removed the toxins from Dvalin's body.

Yun Han waited at Angel's Share for a long time. Eventually, he got bored and wandered around Mondstadt.

He went to Favonius Church for a while, using the pretense of praying to look at Barbara. Of course, it wasn't because he loved to see white silk.

Then, he went to Cat's Tail Tavern to tease the cats, only to be chased out by an angry Diona.

In short, I'd basically seen everyone I knew from playing the game in Mondstadt: Sucrose, who messes up experiments, Diona the cat-girl, Rosaria drinking at the Cat's Tail Tavern, Barbara, the first four-star healer, and Noelle, the very enthusiastic maid of the Knights of Favonius, and so on.

Unfortunately, I didn't see Klee. I didn't know if she was grounded or off blowing up fish. I didn't see Lisa in the library either.

Mona probably hadn't made her appearance yet. Eula was out on a mission, and Albedo was probably doing research in the mountains.

Finally, I ended up back at Angel's Share, waiting for the good news Venti would bring.

"It seems my guess was correct. The Vision holders are indeed more attuned to spiritual energy, or rather, they must have the potential to cultivate. The elements correspond to that spiritual energy."

Back at the tavern, Yun Han was thinking to himself.

Around dusk, Venti and the others returned, and things had been resolved smoothly. The journey wasn't short. Dvalin, after regaining his senses, had transported them to the bridge outside Mondstadt.

"So, how did it go?" Yun Han asked Venti, already knowing the answer.

Venti hadn't even spoken when Jean took the initiative: "The matter has been resolved. Thank you for your assistance, Cloud Han. As a token of our gratitude, I, on behalf of the Knights of Favonius, would like to invite you to become the Honorary Vice-Captain. What do you say?"

"Oh? What would I need to do?" Cloud Han wasn't surprised. After demonstrating his power, the Knights would definitely try to recruit him or put him on a watch list.

"As Honorary Vice-Captain, you won't need to do anything. It's just a title. You'd only need to assist when Mondstadt faces a major crisis," Jean replied, looking at him.

"Okay! That's no problem." Cloud Han knew this Honorary Vice-Captain position was probably just a formality with no real power, but free salary was always nice.

"Thank you very much for joining. I will notify everyone when I get back." Jean was clearly pleased. Then, she changed the subject and said to Lumine behind them, "Traveler who assisted, we will also invite you to become an Honorary Knight. What do you think?"

Although the difference was significant, everyone present knew the disparity in their strengths. Lumine had no objections and agreed.

Mondstadt's dragon disaster was thus resolved, and the actions of Cloud Han and the Traveler, who had offered their help, were sung by the local bards.

Lumine seemed to have something to do and left with Paimon first, but Cloud Han felt like he saw her already taking on several side quests and was busy doing them.

Jean went back to handle her duties, and Diluc returned to the Dawn Winery, leaving only Venti, Yun Han, and a bartender in the tavern.

As for why there were no other customers, it was because Venti had asked Diluc to clear the place. Diluc simply hung a sign on the door announcing the tavern was closed for the day.

Venti looked at the bartender and said with a grin, "Master Diluc said the drinks are free and unlimited refills today, right?"

The bartender glanced at him and then looked at Yun Han, saying, "I'm sorry, Master only said it's free refills for this guest."

"Huh? No way?" Venti wailed, seeming to deflate and slump onto the table.

"Alright, put it on my tab. I'll pay for it later," Yun Han said with a smile to the bartender.

The bartender nodded.

"Oh, Yun Han, there's nothing luckier than knowing you!" Venti instantly perked up, his face beaming with smiles.

"Tsk." Dvalin glanced at him with disdain, then took a glass of apple juice and went upstairs.

Venti saw this and ordered a glass of apple cider, following after.
