Chapter 59 - Chapter 59 The Dance of the Void

The dust from the shattered boulders still hung in the air, but it was quickly being swept away by a gale of murderous intent.

Lucifer's Fundamental Insight pulsed with a rhythmic, heavy thrum.

Over the ridge, a sea of brown vests appeared—not a scout team, but an entire Iwa battalion, at least fifty strong, moving with the cold, geological patience of a landslide.

"Kakashi! Obito! Fall back to Rin!"

Lucifer barked. His voice was no longer casual; it carried the resonance of a general who had stood against Asgardian metal.

The two boys scrambled back, Obito's newly awakened Sharingan spinning wildly as he tried to track the sheer number of incoming threats.

Kakashi was panting, his chakra reserves dipping dangerously low. They looked at the horizon, then at

Lucifer, who was standing alone between them and the approaching army.

"Ronin, there's too many of them,"

Kakashi gritted out, his mask dampened with sweat.

"Even Minato-sensei would have trouble pinning this many down at once without a marking field. We have to retreat!"

"Retreating is for people who don't have a wall,"

Lucifer replied. He reached into his mental inventory, checking his System Funds.

The conversion of his bonus had spiked his liquid assets. He didn't just have money; he had the means to exert absolute dominance.

"Rin, keep the boys behind the shield,"

Lucifer commanded. He didn't look back.

"I'm going to go have a conversation with the neighbors. It might get a little loud."

Lucifer stepped beyond the shimmering hexagonal barrier of his Force Field.

As he walked toward the battalion, he began to release the limiters on his Martial Art Master's Presence.

The air around him didn't just grow heavy; it grew stagnant. The birds in the trees went silent, and even the Iwa soldiers slowed their pace, feeling an instinctive, primal fear—the kind of fear a rabbit feels when it realizes it has walked into the den of a starving tiger.

"Hakai No Ken: Second Form—Void Compression,"

Lucifer whispered.

He didn't draw the Void-Seeker yet.

He dropped into a stance so low and stable he seemed rooted to the center of the earth.

He began to draw upon his expanded chakra pathways, mixing the blue energy of this world with the white-hot Ki of his martial training.

The lead Iwa Jonin roared,

"He's just one man! Kill him! Earth Style: Split Earth Maneuver!"

Thirty ninjas slammed their hands into the ground.

The very canyon floor rippled and tore open, a literal jaw of stone rising to swallow Lucifer whole.

Lucifer didn't dodge. He punched.

He didn't hit the rock; he hit the energy holding the rock together.

The Void-Infused Strike created a microscopic point of absolute zero at the center of the jutsu. The earth didn't just break; it lost its conceptual 'solidity' and crumbled into fine, grey ash before it could touch him.

"My turn,"

Lucifer said.

He triggered Void-Step. In the eyes of the Iwa battalion, he simply vanished. He reappeared in the dead center of their formation.

What followed was not a fight; it was a disassembly.

Lucifer moved with a fluidity that even Minato would have found eerie.

He wasn't using the yellow flash of teleportation; he was moving through the 'holes' in reality.

A ninja swung a heavy club; Lucifer shifted his weight, letting the weapon pass by an inch, and delivered a light tap to the man's throat.

The Void-Layered vibration shattered the windpipe instantly.

Another attempted a point-blank fireball; Lucifer caught the man's wrist, redirected the arm into a second attacker, and used a Ki-infused palm strike to the chest that sent the first ninja flying back like a cannonball, clearing a path through five more soldiers.

"He's a monster!"

An Iwa Chunin screamed, hurling a handful of kunai.

Lucifer didn't even look. He spun, his leg sweeping out in a wide arc.

The sheer displacement of air from his agility created a vacuum blade that parried the metal and sliced through the Chunin's armor.

Behind the shield, Obito stared, his Sharingan recording every movement.

"Kakashi... can you see him? He's not even using hand signs. He's just... hitting them."

Kakashi's eyes were wide, his usual stoicism shattered.

"He's manipulating the air pressure with every strike. It's the ultimate form of Taijutsu. He's not fighting the ninjas; he's destroying the space they occupy."

The battalion realized that numbers meant nothing if they couldn't touch the target.

The remaining thirty ninjas grouped together, forming a massive circle.

"Earth Style: Bedrock Coffin!"

They intended to bury the entire clearing under a hundred tons of stone.

The sky darkened as the canyon walls began to lean inward.

Lucifer finally gripped the hilt of the Void-Seeker.

"You guys keep talking about honor and villages,"

Lucifer said, his voice cutting through the rumbling of the earth.

"But out here, there's only one rule: If you can't see the end, you've already reached it."

He drew the blade. The Void-Seeker didn't just cut; it erased.

"Void-Blade Mastery: Dimensional Cleave."

Lucifer swung the blade in a single, vertical line.

A thin ribbon of absolute darkness shot forward. It didn't interact with the falling rocks; it simply removed the segment of the world they were in.

The massive "Bedrock Coffin" was split perfectly in half, the two sides falling harmlessly into the canyon depths.

The shockwave from the strike hit the Iwa battalion like a physical hammer.

The survivors were thrown backward, their morale shattered, their chakra networks short-circuiting from the proximity to the Void energy.

Lucifer sheathed the blade with a soft thud. He turned back to the shield, which was still holding firm around a stunned Rin, Kakashi, and Obito.

He walked back, his breathing slightly elevated, but otherwise looking as if he had just finished a light morning jog.

He tapped on the force field, and it dissolved into sparkling dust.

"You okay, Medic?"

Lucifer asked Rin, looking at her with a casual wink.

Rin could only nod, her face pale. She looked at the decimated clearing, the unconscious and broken ninjas, and then back at the 'Ronin' who had just defended them against an army.

"You... you're incredible, Lucifer-san."

Obito ran up to him, his Sharingan still active but his face full of awe.

"That was the coolest thing I've ever seen! You have to teach me that! How did you make the air go boom?!"

Lucifer chuckled, ruffling the boy's hair—a gesture that would have been impossible a week ago.

"First, you gotta learn to stand still, goggle-kid. Then, maybe we'll talk about the booms."

Kakashi walked up slowly, his head bowed.

He reached into his pouch and pulled out a small, ceremonial bell he usually kept for training. He handed it to Lucifer.

"I was wrong. Rules don't protect people. People like you do. I'd be honored to continue the mission under your lead, Lucifer-san."

"Don't get sentimental on me, Hatake,"

Lucifer said, though he accepted the bell.

"We still have a bridge to blow up. And after that..."

He looked toward the sunset.

"I believe I owe you guys a lot of Yakiniku."

In the distance, a yellow streak appeared on the horizon. Minato was returning, having finished his own battle.

He landed in the clearing, his eyes sweeping over the carnage.

He looked at his students, who were safe and unharmed, and then at Lucifer.

Minato didn't ask what happened.

He could see the residual Void energy still shimmering in the air. He simply walked over and placed a hand on Lucifer's shoulder.

"I asked you to keep them alive, Lucifer-san,"

Minato said softly.

"But you gave them a future. Konoha won't forget this."

"Let them remember the meat bill first,"

Lucifer replied, sliding his hands into his pockets.

"I'm starving."
