"To understand the Judges, we must first think about the first goal that they showed us: killing Scarlet. If we assume that they have a way to kill her or even to bring her to earth, they are slaughtering rich people, but why would an immortal care about rich people?"
A man with a long jacket stood in the middle of the round table with many eyes locked on him; he was the head of the detective department. Now that they had attacked the military, the matter had caused all the departments to work together.
"For the way that they are producing with their activities, there might be a big chance that their goal has nothing to do with Scarlet."
A man asked from the corner of the room, "What if their goal is actually what they are saying? To help the poor."
"For that to be true, they had to steal their money, but no. They only kill and burn what is left." He pointed at the screen, where a photo of a burned body was on display. "That's Vice General's body, but the point is, the one who detonated the bomb near him was his own wife."
"What?"
"Was she a spy?"
General Armstrong joined him on the stage. "None. An hour ago there was an assault on General Alexanderia's life too; the person responsible had been possessed by some sort of magic."
"Let's see if they can catch the hint, though," Ray thought to himself.
"With the way General Alexanderia described the possessed body, I think the owner of the magic was at least level 7 and has a deep foundation in mind domain." The head detective continued on showing reports.
Marian talked to Ray's mind, "What is your opinion?"
"Bullshit, a mind possess shouldn't have that huge of an impact on his body." Ray was getting bored with the whole meeting. "Plus, they have no way to stop it."
With his phone on his legs, Ray started to check the news. With the Dragonlord family dead, his main rivals were out of the play, so his company could fill all the blank spaces they had left behind.
All of his focus was on his phone and the numbers when he heard his name from next to him.
"We actually know who their next target is; Vice General Ray had been on their list for months now." Iri said with a clear voice.
"Even if they pass his security, what are they going to do with him?" The video of him fighting Jade was still fresh in everyone's memory.
"I don't mean him; for a big company it should be easy to bleed. If some small buildings were destroyed, using them as bait, and of course paying for the cost, we can easily capture a few of them."
Ray finally decided to interfere. "You are ignoring a big component, General Iri. To put up a trap, first it must stay hidden."
First Ray had thought it was a meeting between generals and vice generals, but now with high rankings from all departments, he was sure that at least one possessed person breathed the same air as them.
"Interesting. I can agree on it." Iri sat again on her chair, but another general's voice broke the silence.
"Vice General, I think you might have the capabilities to craft a special station that can recognize if someone is possessed."
Ray's expression changed to a thoughtful face. "He's on the move at last. He shouldn't have his full memories about the Judges, but he wants to put me on the front line. If I turn into a big target, it would be easier to get rid of him."
All the crafters on the side of the room changed their little discussion with jealousy; almost all of them were 2 to 3 levels higher than Ray, but no one seemed to notice their existence with the new shining star.
"General Hank, it should be possible, but the materials needed for that will be, let's say, worth a lot, and there is my own pricing too." Ray smiled at him; he didn't care about being put in danger as long as his gains were worth it.
General Armstrong Moved in front of him, "You have guts, young man; it is your duty to protect your brothers in arms."
"General Iri just suggested for a full branch of me to die for a small trap, and I should be protective over my brothers in arms?"
Anger took over his face, but he controlled himself as he turned to the crafter's side: "Can you craft it, too?"
Their boss stood up. "No. The data is too low."
"Explain to me, Vice General, then how are you going to build it?" His eyes narrowed on Ray.
"It's rather simple; if the possessed ones have no blood, then a blood cube that can scan one's blood and their hormones—even if it's only a mind possession—will show it." Ray shrugged. "And I don't know anyone with blood magic in here but myself."
"Your price?"
"10 blood crystals are needed for the cube, but to craft it, my own magic is needed. I will do the crafting for free. About my price, how about a magical monolith?"
Armstrong denied him on the spot, "Out of reach, I will pay you 600 dark crystals."
"Good enough for me." That was enough for Ray to reach level 3.
"When will it be crafted?" General Hawk spoke once more.
"I need someone with strong magic in the information domain, no matter what, and 10 magical crystals for that; after that it should take less than a week."
Iri gave him two names, "My Vice General Kevin or Vice General Olivia, which one?"
Ray didn't know either of them, but Vice General Olivia was General Hawk's daughter; staying close to his enemy was better. "Vice General Olivia fits the task at hand better."
His memories about her had returned to some extent; she had died on a mission, with many rumors saying that her father killed her.
His large violet eyes stared at Ray, but Ray felt no killing intent; it was more like curiosity.
After that the meeting continued for two hours of boring discussions; Ray had spent most of it flirting with Marian in his mind or checking numbers on his company.
"The more I work on my crafting skills, the closer I get to knowing how to craft a mythical weapon!" Ray took a deep breath; if it became a reality, he could conquer heaven itself.
