Sometimes my mom worries about me like I'm still a four-years-old, but I'm not a little girl anymore. I've grown up. how could I tell her.
"You okay , did you land safely? " mom said , I don't know why she's so worried about me . " Yes mom, I am perfectly fine " I said , " Be safe , and you should go straight to the hostel and not wander around. From the hostel to college is enough, and no top of that, everything is new for you there " she order me. " ok fine " I said ,rolling my eyes . "OK then bey , mom I'm getting late ". "Ok bey , Aanya . And be safe ok " . I sighed " Ok mom" I hang the phone .
I looked straight ahead and pulled my trolley as I walked out of the airport. In my hand I was holding my passport and a photo my Nanu-my grandmother -had give me. My purse was hanging from my shoulder . I looked the photo in my hand , a women who wears a skinny jeans and a top whose hair is open and wearing red lipstick. Nanu said that she's my Maasi , the one who walked out of our house and never returned. No one speaks her name anymore. Not my parents, not my relatives..as if she never existed. Except Nanu, for Nanu , her daughter is still alive in every corner of this world . Nanu once told me, in a trembling voice" She always said she'd go to France one day. Maybe.. maybe she's there now". And that tiny hope is what my Nanu has hold onto all these years.
I come here through a scholarship. I wasn't searching for anything. But destiny has its own strange habits-it dragged me to the exact country my Maasi once dreamed of. Sometimes i wonder if I'll accidentally walk into the place she wished to stand... a cafe she imagined... a street she once pictured in her mind.
Nanu has only one wish: "If you ever find her, bring her home."
And I will try. No matter what it takes, I'll search for her. Because seeing Nanu smile again... seeing her eyes stop waiting...
That's the one thing I want more than anything. I love Nanu and if finding Maasi is the only way my Nanu to heal her heart, then I'll follow every trail, every whisper, every shadow... Until I find her.
I looked out of airport , and I stand out in entry gate waiting for my cab . I looked my phone its already 8 am " O god where is my cab " I groan , I looked at my surroundings , my eyes suddenly stopped on a man who was staring straight at me. A shiver crawled down my spine when I saw his brown , hooded eyes. i couldn't see the rest of his face- someone was standing in front of him, and he was wearing a black mask that covered the rest. Something about him felt strange, unsettling. Just then, my cab arrived, and I quickly got inside without looking back .
