Chapter 73 - Chapter 73: A Nickname Made on the Spot

"We're here, this is the place!"

Standing in front of the fight club's entrance, Hook said to Stelle and March.

"Hook's going to play some fighting now, so I won't take you inside."

That statement undoubtedly made March even more alarmed.

"What kind of people run this place, to actually allow kids to do fighting..."

She couldn't help but genuinely want to condemn the owner of this place, and at the same time felt worried about Dan Heng's situation.

Stelle frowned as well. This was clearly not something that should exist in a harmonious, stable society.

However, just as the two of them were about to go inside and give the fight club's boss a piece of their mind, Hook suddenly said, "This place is Mole Gang territory! ...But only for kids. The adults' part is managed by Wildfire!"

"What... so that's how it is..."

March let out a sigh of relief and raised a hand to pat her chest.

What Hook said just now made her and Stelle realize that they had misunderstood things earlier.

Doctor Dig really ought to thank Hook, if March and Stelle had rushed in just like that, he would definitely have been the first one to get beaten up.

Stelle, after calming down, asked, "The Mole Gang even manages this place?"

Hook nodded. "Mm mm mm~ Everything underground is Mole Gang territory!"

As she spoke, Hook looked around and spotted other kids in a corner.

"Ah, they're short one opponent over there~ If you want to play fighting, come find me!"

After saying goodbye to Hook, Stelle and March walked into the fight club. It was far livelier inside than at the entrance.

At this moment, a match was in its hype-up phase. As soon as they entered, Stelle and March heard the host, Doctor Dig, shouting passionately, "...Brothers and sisters! The next match will be the most exciting, the most thrilling, the most shocking showdown of the day!"

The surrounding audience were clearly all fanatics. Even now, they were already waving their hands and letting out nonstop cheers.

Stelle and March looked up into the cage and immediately saw two familiar figures.

Dan Heng stood calmly inside the cage with his arms crossed, as if the opponents in front of him were nothing in his eyes.

Beside Dan Heng stood Nero. Unlike Dan Heng, the white-haired boy wore an excited expression. His hands were in his pockets, as if he had no idea what an opponent even was.

Doctor Dig introduced the two like this, "Taciturn and overwhelmingly powerful, a super rookie, 'Cold Dragon Young'! Recommended by the dark-blue handsome guy!

"And next is his companion, who volunteered himself and claims to have had intense battles with both the Antimatter Legion and rift creatures, 'White Strip Riding the Waves'!"

As Doctor Dig's voice fell, the entire fight club erupted once again in thunderous cheers.

Inside the cage, Nero's expression changed. He furrowed his brows, feeling quite displeased.

A nickname like White Strip Riding the Waves, he had never heard of that before.

Since when did he have a nickname like that...

Nero turned his head to look at Doctor Dig, already feeling the urge to beat this guy up.

'You totally just made that name up on the spot for the sake of symmetry, didn't you?'

However, that wasn't the end of it. The real bomb was still coming.

Doctor Dig's attention was focused on the roaring crowd inside the club, completely unaware of Nero's expression. At this moment, he spoke again, "Let us welcome this duo, they are, the 'Black and White Twin Fiends'!"

'Black and White Twin Fiends?'

'Your Black and White Twin Fiends, my ass!'

'Stop giving people random nicknames, okay?!'

Nero had already clenched his fists at this point.

Even someone as steady as Dan Heng, upon hearing the name Black and White Twin Fiends, had his gaze shift slightly, his expression darkening a bit.

Meanwhile, March and Stelle down below seemed to quite like the nickname.

Not only did they not find it awkward, they even cheered along with the rest of the audience.

Doctor Dig continued, "Their opponents are, emotionless, highly flammable and explosive machine squads, and the brave and fearless, ever-advancing War Bear! Praise Lord Svarog!"

Dan Heng and Nero's opponents were a group of mechanical soldiers.

The most eye-catching among them was, of course, the massive Automaton Soldier, Grizzly.

It was an enormous figure, covered head to toe in heavy armor, looking like a gigantic sphere cast entirely of steel. Only through the gaps in its near full-body armor could one glimpse the precise and complex mechanical structure inside.

Beside the Grizzly stood four Automaton Soldier, Spiders, which looked much smaller. Compared to the Grizzly, whose size far exceeded Dan Heng's, the Spiders were about as big as Hook.

The Spiders had more exposed mechanical parts compared to the Grizzly, especially their movement components that resembled insect legs. The joint structures were almost completely unprotected.

The Spider's overall shape was also very distinctive, it looked like a tightly clenched fist.

No matter what, for the people of the Underworld, this was a match worth looking forward to.

The strength of the automaton soldiers went without saying. They possessed power far beyond that of ordinary humans. So what if some fragile structures were exposed?

That didn't mean humans could easily exploit those weaknesses to defeat these mechanical creations. In most cases, a single Spider was enough to fight three to five healthy adult men, not to mention the much larger, stronger Grizzly, which was built specifically for charging into battle.

As for Dan Heng, he had already appeared here several times before, winning battle after battle.

Dan Heng's stunning performances naturally made the audience full of anticipation. They already believed he had the strength to contend with these mechanical creations.

As for Nero, they didn't know much about him, but they clearly weren't going to demand that he be carried off just because he looked young.

What's more, according to Doctor Dig's introduction, this boy had fought against the Antimatter Legion and rift creatures. If that was true, then his strength was more than sufficient.

Jarilo-VI had experienced war with the Antimatter Legion, and now struggled to survive under the influence of the Stellaron. The people of this planet naturally understood how powerful the Legion and rift creatures were.

Besides, hadn't that Cold Dragon Young agreed to team up with this boy?

Everyone knew that in battle, an unqualified teammate not only fails to contribute positively, but can even drag the whole team down.

Facing powerful enemies like the automaton soldiers, if the Cold Dragon Young was willing to team up with this White Strip Riding the Waves, then the latter must surely have something going for him.

As Doctor Dig finished the introductions, the atmosphere inside the club reached an unprecedented peak.

The audience all awaited a heart-shaking match to unfold before their eyes.
