Chapter 43 - CHAPTER 21: The Return of the Shadow

Amid the immense destruction,

the commander was kneeling on one knee.

He lifted his head… his features distorted from the blow.

His eyes were red… but unsettled.

He looked toward LOUVNA.

SOLIMON stepped closer, his breathing heavy:

"You will not touch her."

Then suddenly… a large amount of blood poured from SOLIMON's mouth,

and he collapsed to his knees, unable to stand.

His body had reached its limit.

Opening the gate had pushed him to potential beyond his capacity,

But at the same time,

It placed a massive burden on his body—

This was the side effect of a leap like that.

The exhausted Battalion Commander stood up.

"It was truly close,"

a wicked smile spreading across his face.

Behind him came the sound of footsteps…

many of them.

From within the shadows…

from behind the destroyed cars…

from between the collapsed concrete pillars…

They appeared.

Dozens of the organisation's armoured soldiers,

black armour,

metallic fox-like helmets,

surrounding SOLIMON from every direction.

And like a second wave behind them—

other soldiers encircling the different members of THE SHADOWS across the battlefield.

Weapons charging…

red laser lights reflecting on THE SHADOWS' faces.

From between the ranks,

A man in an elegant formal suit stepped forward,

a cold smile hanging at the corner of his mouth—

The Prime Minister.

He stood beside the shattered commander

and looked directly at LOUVNA as if they were alone in the scene.

He lifted his chin with disdain:

"The end, Princess…

You have lost the game."

SOLIMON pressed on his wounds…

and blood began to seep between his fingers.

He started losing consciousness as he watched the soldiers advance toward him.

ZARYOUH tried to step forward—

But dozens of laser weapons were aimed at him.

The commander, despite his injuries,

adjusted the position of his deformed nano-weapon

and pointed the muzzle at SOLIMON's head.

A malicious smile split his face:

"Your end."

Meanwhile,

All members of THE SHADOWS were fiercely fighting the new wave of enemies despite their exhaustion.

AYOUB fired his handheld cannons as he retreated toward the door.

TAHARA leapt over two soldiers and fired the laser rifle with deadly precision.

MIZYANI spun his nano-spear and threw three soldiers at once.

ZAKI smashed the ground with his massive hammer like a human earthquake.

MASSIN and YASSIN fought back-to-back;

The bow fired nano-arrows that exploded on impact,

and the axe split through armour.

And above, on another building—

SHOUTNA fired with calm madness…

His eyes filter every target within a fraction of a second.

Every shot dropped a soldier,

but the numbers… were overwhelming.

Through the radio, ADEL shouted:

"They've surrounded us from everywhere!"

At that moment,

the commander steadied his stance.

He pressed the muzzle of the weapon against SOLIMON's kneeling head.

The soldiers raised their weapons.

The Prime Minister opened his arms in a voice like a declaration of victory:

"This is the fate of those who stand against the organisation."

SOLIMON lifted his head…

in a broken yet defiant voice:

"I… do not bow."

The commander pulled the trigger.

"Goodbye."

…Then something unbelievable happened.

In the sky…

above the shattered square…

A black line descended from the heavens…

without sound…

only deadly speed.

It sliced through the dust

in less than a fraction of a second.

The commander's hand flew into the air.

His weapon hit the ground.

Black-red blood burst outward.

The commander staggered back,

his eyes widening in terror:

"Wha…t…"

The soldiers froze.

The air grew heavier.

SOLIMON lifted his head…

his eyes trembling…

And LOUVNA clutched her heart.

"MOHITO… I knew you would come."

ZARYOUH whispered, his voice shaking:

"…Impossible."

And SHOUTNA, through the scope,

whispered only one word:

"Finally."

He appeared…

MOHITO.

His steps were heavy…

his boots piercing the ground…

And his eyes—

 were cold crimson.

He stood between SOLIMON and the commander.

Still And MORASAME in his hand pulsed.

His red eyes planted terror in everyone around him.

His first step… no one heard it.

But the commander felt it.

And when he tried to lift his head,

the blade pierced him from within the smoke—

then emerged from his heart in a straight… clean… thought-sharp line.

He turned with difficulty

and saw behind him BALI

He stood expressionless.

The commander whispered, bleeding, his voice fading:

"You trai—"

Before he could finish,

the sword was pulled from his body as smoothly as it had entered.

Without an extra drop of blood.

His body fell in silence.

"What does this mean…"

MONA gasped, stunned by the scene.

The Prime Minister screamed madly:

"Kill them all! What are you waiting for?!"

Dozens of rifles rose…

laser muzzles ignited…

Then—

MOHITO moved.

Only one movement.

No one saw how.

They heard nothing.

The first soldier… his chest split in two.

The second… his head flew before he saw who struck him.

The third… his legs fell before he noticed they were gone.

MOHITO passed among them like a living shadow seen only after the target dies.

A face without expression.

No anger…

No mercy…

No doubt.

And BALI… his shadow.

A soldier attacked BALI—

His head vanished before the weapon arrived.

Another tried to fire—

BALI stood behind him before he understood how he got there…

His sword slides across his neck with astonishing precision.

A third retreated in terror—

MOHITO passed beside him…

"something" flashed…

and the man fell without a scream.

The duo… operated as if they were one person.

ADEL, his eye fixed on the screen without blinking:

"Their style is one.

Their breathing is one.

Their speed is nearly identical."

Their synchronisation was terrifying in its beauty,

 a nightmare in its precision.

Bodies fell around them like autumn leaves,

and blood painted a horrifying artwork across the battlefield floor.

A soldier raised his weapon toward BALI—

MORASAME severed his arm before he could pull the trigger.

Another fled from MOHITO—

BALI appeared behind him like a dark mirror,

his blade piercing his chest without sound.

A movement from Bali covered MOHITO's back…

and a movement from MOHITO completed an opening that BALI had left.

The soldiers began losing their minds:

"They're… disappearing!"

"They're not human!!"

"No, no… stop!!"

But no one stopped anymore.

And no one was heard.

After only a few minutes…

The ground was filled with slain soldiers.

The same single line…

the same clean cut…

the same lethal silence.

MOHITO stood, BALI behind him.

MORASAME glistened with blood.

BALI's sword shone beneath the sparks of the collapsed ceiling.

Silence… heavy.

Only the roar of fire and the collapse of a few pillars.

SOLIMON stared… unable to speak.

ZARYOUH placed his hand on the wall for support.

 His eyes widened.

LOUVNA…

She was staring at MOHITO.

MOHITO wiped the blood from his face…

And looked toward the Prime Minister.

MOHITO stepped forward.

His red eyes scanned him like a judge scanning the final defendant.

He spoke in a low…

calm…

yet mountain-shattering voice:

"Your role is over."

The Prime Minister froze, as if the air had vanished.

But MOHITO did not approach…

did not raise his sword…

Instead, he turned his gaze away with indescribable coldness.

And remained silent.

A long silence…

Heavier than explosions, than war, than hell itself.

Then he said… in a faint voice, yet like an arrow:

"But I am not the one who will draw the curtain."

He raised his head toward the collapsing sky,

His eyes were glowing with a strange light like destiny itself.

Then he continued with heart-slapping coldness:

"For I am no longer a member of THE SHADOWS."

From above, SHOUTNA watched in silence,

watching the end of the long battle and the final declaration.
