Two days had passed since my arrival at the Academy, and it seemed I would finally begin interacting with this institution… whether I liked it or not.
I stood in front of the mirror, staring at myself after putting on the uniform one of the guards delivered to me earlier this morning.
The fitted black trousers were far more comfortable than I expected, and the red lines running along the sides gave them a formal yet sharp appearance. The short black tunic clung to my body in a way that made movement easy. On my right side, a golden badge gleamed annoyingly bright—engraved with the number 1.
Sometimes I wonder whether this badge is a blessing… or a curse.
After adjusting my uniform, I stepped outside into the courtyard.
The air was slightly cold at this hour, but refreshing.
Classes would begin today, which was enough reason for the area to be filled with students rushing back and forth—each pretending to look more confident than they actually felt.
I walked through the main path.
Some students glanced my way, some whispered, others simply stared.
I ignored them all. I had no desire to interact with anyone, especially not the "main characters" whose future paths… and deaths… I already knew.
Without thinking much, I continued walking.
After about ten minutes, I reached the door of the Elite Classroom.
Just looking at it reminded me of the schools I once thought I'd never return to.
I let out a faint, sarcastic smile.
"Who would've thought I'd end up back in a classroom again?"
I exhaled deeply, grabbed the handle, and went inside.
The first thing that caught my attention was the size.
The hall was far larger than I expected—neatly arranged, with desks placed in a semi-circular pattern. Each table was made of black wood laced with thin silver streaks.
At the center was a wide open space, most likely for practical training.
The front wall was a massive magical crystal board, occasionally flickering with soft colors.
Long windows above allowed sunlight to flow in gently.
But despite the beauty of the place… what caught my attention most was the staring.
Every student lifted their head the moment I entered.
Ten, twenty, forty pairs of eyes… all on me.
I spotted Charlotte Astraea sitting in the second row—her silver-white hair glowing softly under the light, her blue eyes widening slightly upon seeing me.
Naira crossed her arms, her sharp gaze as cold as ever.
Raine raised a brow with interest.
Oriana smiled faintly, as if amused.
People whose destinies I knew better than they did.
I ignored all of them and took a seat at the very back—far away from everyone else.
I took out my notebook, not because I planned to write anything…
Moments later, the door opened again, and Leander Vallis walked in.
His short golden hair was neatly styled, and his golden eyes shone clearly under the classroom lights. Confident yet not cold—his steps were natural, and the greetings he exchanged with some students were easygoing.
He scanned the room briefly before sitting near Naira.
Seconds later, the door opened once more.
And this time… no one could look away.
Long pink hair cascading down her back like the colors of a calm dawn.
Soft, bright pink eyes carrying a quiet confidence.
A black formal outfit lined with soft pink markings, and a belt at her waist holding several small mana crystals.
I recognized her immediately.
Carmila Roseborn
One of the few who survived… the final arc of the novel I wrote before reincarnating.
She stood before us with a confident smile and spoke in a warm, clear voice:
"Welcome, students. I'll be your main instructor this year.
My name is Carmilla Roseburn, Awakener Rank S.
You may call me Instructor… or Miss Carmilla."
Naturally, everyone knew her name.
She was famous, strong, and known for being strict—but fair.
She opened her attendance book and began reading names.
"Rank 20: Leon Ashford — blond hair, blue eyes."
A cheerful blond boy lifted his hand. "Here!"
"Rank 19: Dimitri Falcon — black hair, gray eyes."
He raised his hand silently.
"Rank 18: Mila Rockfield — dark brown hair, brown eyes."
"Rank 17: Iris Valen — pale blond hair, soft pink eyes."
"Rank 16: Lara Clout — silver hair, black eyes."
"Rank 15: Finn Carter — black hair, yellow eyes."
"Rank 14: Ryan Cloudveil — blue hair, blue eyes."
"Rank 13: Elisa Storm — red hair, red eyes."
"Rank 12: Vera Silverose — shiny black hair, emerald green eyes."
"Rank 11: Nina Raven — dark violet hair, gray eyes."
"Rank 10: Chloe Darksten — brown-gold hair, honey eyes."
"Rank 9: Lucas Hayden — gray hair, violet eyes."
"Rank 8: Evie Sunbright — pink hair, sky-blue eyes."
"Rank 7: Ethan Green — orange hair, orange eyes."
Then she lifted her gaze slightly.
"Rank 6: Charlotte Astraea — silver-white hair, blue eyes."
Charlotte raised her hand quietly.
"Rank 5: Raine Harold — black hair, golden eyes."
He nodded confidently.
"Rank 4: Oriana Lumière — blonde hair, golden eyes."
She smiled elegantly.
"Rank 3: Naira Vallis — black-blue hair, sharp silver eyes."
Naira lifted her hand without expression.
"Rank 2: Leander Vallis — golden hair, golden eyes."
He raised his hand with a simple smile.
"And finally… Rank 1: Nyx Vairen."
I lifted my hand slowly.
Several heads turned toward me again, but I didn't react. I had become used to this since the exam day.
Carmilla closed her notebook and said:
"Alright. Before we begin our lecture, we'll go over the Academy rules—
especially the rules of the Elite Class."
She smiled lightly—an expression that immediately made several students uneasy.
"Which means… you'll be suffering a lot."
The room filled with murmurs.
As for me…
I simply stared at the desk.
I had other priorities—far more important than classes, ranks, or tests.
I had to get stronger. Quickly.
No matter what it took.
So I could reclaim what I lost…
Even if the world considered it impossible.
_____
Okay guys, I know there are a lot of names, but there will be a lot of events that the elite class will be involved in in the future, so they should be mentioned.
Finally, if you enjoyed the chapter, feel free to leave a comment or review, even if it's just a bit of powers stones.🖤
