The next day.
Felix leaned back into his chair as he held a photo above him as time passed by. His bells on his hat lightly jingled as he felt bored. He had already looked over the photos and besides picking out that the killer prefers women who were fit since the bodies they know of couldn't be called fat or even chubby. The only other thing of note is the killer's possible age, the killer either dislikes women of their age or those of within their thirties.
"Do you think the killer is still within the city?" Spencer asked.
"Yeah." Felix answered.
"Reason." Aaron asked.
"Clearly he is attempting to find a new way of disposing of bodies. Either his sense of thrill isn't satisfied with one or two at a time now or age is beginning to become a factor in transporting." Felix answered.
"We already thought of this." Aaron pointed out.
"Yes, but there is also his new target." Felix said.
"Target?" Derek looked baffled. "How do you know who it is?"
"Did you not look at the headline today in the newspaper?" Felix glanced at them.
Derek looked at Aaron and Spencer who both looked just as baffled. Garcia quickly pulled out today's newspaper and gasped. Her hand shot to her mouth as if mortified at what was on the front page.
Placing the paper on the table for all to see. On the front page with a large image stood a woman dressed neatly and proudly as if afraid the camera would get a bad shot of her. Her eyes seemed to shine within the photo as it was easy to tell she put a lot of effort into her appearance beforehand.
Then the article basically published what was known and written in a way as if challenging the killer. Almost as if begging for the killer to continue or even try and take her as she tried her best to appear to his liking.
Derek rubbed his forehead as Aaron pinched his nose in anger. Only Spencer didn't display much reaction.
"Judging by your reaction, you know who this woman is." Felix asked.
"She is Jill Morris and she is the one who asked for our help." Aaron explained.
"Ambitious woman." Felix shrugged. "Also, one who just drew a big target on her forehead. The killer will see her and be like a wolf seeing a sheep for its next meal."
"It's not guaranteed that she is the next victim." Spencer interrupted.
"Debate if you want, I am going to investigate both Jill and her friend Katrina who wrote the article." Felix asked.
After saying his piece, Felix got up and left the conference room. Sitting around wasn't his style when there not much left to get from the available information. Unless some new information magically appears, all that is left will be debating among themselves the possible profile of the killer.
--
Upon leaving the group, Felix first headed towards the newspaper office. After asking the receptionist and being given 'she away on business' response. He simply bypassed her and walked into the offices and began asking about.
If they were going to interrupt his work, then he would do the same. Luckily it wasn't a big office and he soon locked onto his target. A woman in her thirties who was typing away at her desk with a type writer.
"Sir, please leave."
Behind Felix, the recipient shouted as if the louder she shouted, the more convincing it would be. Still, he walked up to the woman and found that she too fit within the killer range.
"What do you want?" Katrina asked.
She looked afraid but also curious about the sudden intrusion. She hasn't written anything warranting someone barging into the office. Until the thought of the killer clicked in her mind and she took a step back.
"I'm looking for the second fool." Felix answered.
"Second fool?" Katrina looked baffled.
"Security!" The recipient screamed like a banshee.
The shriek was so loud it felt like glass vibrated as well as messed with Felix's ears. Even if no magic was used, since she was right next to Felix, it was basically within his ear. So, Felix simply turned and punched her, making the recipient unconscious.
"That's better." Felix said.
When Felix went to refocus on Katrina, he suddenly felt a bottle smash down on his back. Stumbling a step forward, Felix felt a liquid spread all over him, right before heat appeared. Someone had lit him on fire while Katrina bolted for the door. Using a bit of magic, he placed a simple tracing magic on her.
"I guess she really is a fool." Felix snapped his fingers.
Under this snap, not only the fire went out, but he drew out of the liquid in his shirt. Where it found it to be some sort of alcohol and rolled his eyes. Before him, some of the bigger men in the room tried to block him.
Taking a step forward, Felix used wood magic on the floor tile. The ones trying to block him were tossed to the side as Felix just walked back out. Where he followed the trail of Katrina and got to the street where he saw her hopping into someone's carriage.
The driver seemed like a man in his late thirties or early forties. He had a bit of a receding hairline, a fair amount of stubble and was a bit tall. Nothing really of note if not Katrina suddenly became a bit stiff and fell into the back.
"I think I just found my target?" Felix followed the wagon.
Naturally, he just followed until he was sure that this man is indeed the killer he is after. If not, then it is at least a kidnapper. So he won't really lose out that much on following behind this wagon.
--
Not long after Felix began following, Aaron alongside his group arrived at the newspaper office. They had received a call for help from them saying someone broke in and wanted to see Katrina. From the info given, they made it sound like the killer was after her.
"So, what did this person look like?" Derek asked.
"They weren't very old, maybe fourteen or fifteen." The recipient who regained consciousness began.
"They wore a jester hat and outfit." Another reporter chimed in.
Derek's hands paused as he looked over to Aaron who sighed. Upon hearing the jester hat and age, they understood it wasn't the killer they were looking for. Instead it was Felix who barged into the office after an attempt to drive him away.
"Are all Fairy Tail mages like this?" Derek scratched his chin. "Just charge straight in or follow their gut feeling."
"Yes." Aaron said.
--
Felix followed the wagon to a neat and tidy two story house where the man dragged Katrina to his basement. Following behind, he silently walked down to see he indeed found the killer.
