Allyson's POV
My words sliced through the tension, freezing Michael mid-stride.
"No... I didn't," I stammered, my throat constricting as tremors ran through my hands. "This whole revenge thing was idiotic. I never should have gone through with it."
He pivoted slowly to face me, but I couldn't stop the words from tumbling out.
"But don't you dare stand there playing the innocent victim. You betrayed me first, remember?"
Something dangerous flickered in his eyes before rage consumed the hurt.
"Don't you dare fucking—" He advanced toward me, his voice raw with anger.
"You're a liar," I shot back, matching his intensity. "I saw you with Lisha. Both of you naked. In your bedroom. Don't pretend you ever cared about what we had... about me."
"I was wasted, Allyson!" His voice cracked like thunder. "I couldn't even remember getting home! Lisha claimed I kept repeating your name all night like some broken record. She never laid a finger on me. Absolutely nothing happened."
