Allyson's POV
The past week had drained every ounce of energy from my body and soul.
Thank God it was finally behind me. Between the devastating fire, the complete upheaval of my life, and the awkward days spent under Michael's roof, I had desperately needed time to collect myself. Now, returning felt less like a choice and more like surrendering to inevitability.
Michael had made it clear my resignation wasn't necessary. Naturally, that generosity came wrapped in strings attached, strings I wasn't certain I could handle pulling.
But with Miami's rent prices soaring higher each month and my entire life reduced to nothing but charred memories, walking away simply wasn't feasible. The Jade family held my financial future in their hands, whether I liked it or not.
