I pressed my palms against the bedroom window, watching raindrops streak down the glass like tears I refused to shed.
The storm outside matched the chaos in my chest.
Every breath felt like swallowing broken glass. My ribs ached as if someone had cracked them open and left me exposed to the elements.
Allyson had lied to me.
She played me like a violin, and I danced to every note she struck.
The worst part ate at me like acid. My own son loved her too.
