Allyson's POV
The moment I stepped through my apartment door, Gina's voice hit me like a freight train.
"Sweet Jesus, was that Michael Jade who just dropped you off?" she practically shouted, launching herself off my couch.
My heart nearly stopped. "Gina, what on earth are you doing here?" I managed, clutching my purse tighter than necessary.
She had a spare key, sure, but showing up unannounced wasn't exactly her usual style.
"This place is practically my second apartment, so I can pop by whenever the mood strikes," she declared, snatching my hand and dragging me toward the living room. "Now stop deflecting and tell me everything about you and Michael Jade."
"There's absolutely nothing to discuss," I said, rolling my eyes at her predictable nosiness.
"That's complete garbage." Her eyes narrowed as she studied my face like she was reading a book. "Your boss bringing you home after ten at night is basically a neon sign flashing 'We fooled around.'"
