Chapter 192: Obito, You Have to Hold Back! Do Not Reveal Your True Identity!

"These sacrifices are necessary. Only when your clan contributes its strength to Konoha can the higher ups truly accept you."

Shisui lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling with a faintly playful look in his eyes.

Interesting.

They kept talking about dedication, but no one ever received anything in return. Empty promises, loud speeches about ideals and righteousness, and endless demands for sacrifice.

And in the end?

Nothing.

Shisui did not ask for much. He only wanted the village leadership to show even the slightest change in how they treated the Uchiha. Let more clansmen enter ANBU. Adjust their positions. Stop shoving them into the Military Police and pretending that was "trust."

That job offended everyone. It was the easiest way to make the whole village hate them.

But Danzo gave nothing. He only kept repeating sacrifice, dedication, righteousness, as if chanting those words long enough would turn them into reality.

Shisui took a slow breath. If that was all this village could offer, then the Uchiha truly had no future here.

Why was the Hyuga accepted by everyone in Konoha?

Because they had paid in blood before. Because they had endured hardships, taken missions, and earned their place.

Shisui's eyes narrowed slightly.

After realizing the masked man was Kenichi, Shisui had not wanted to cooperate. Kenichi was dangerous. His teacher was dangerous. If the Uchiha fell into their hands, no one could predict what would happen.

But the Uchiha were already trapped inside a burning house.

The flames were not roaring yet, but the smoke was already choking. Staying meant dying sooner or later.

So why not abandon the house and start over?

"I'll be branded a rogue ninja," Shisui murmured.

He pulled off his forehead protector, rose from bed, and stared at it in his hand. His expression was gloomy, but his resolve was sharper than before.

If Danzo had given him even a little hope, Shisui would not have decided so quickly.

But Danzo had given him nothing.

Shisui stood and looked at the quiet home behind him. It was peaceful, almost gentle.

And yet everything inside it sat under a heavy shadow.

Not a single ray of light.

Shisui exhaled, stepped forward, and pushed open the door.

Sunlight poured in instantly, stretching his shadow long across the floor.

He went straight to Fugaku.

"Clan Head." Shisui bowed, then straightened, meeting Fugaku's eyes without saying anything else.

Fugaku had just finished eating and was drinking tea. When he saw Shisui, his expression turned complicated.

"Come in," Fugaku said with a tired sigh. "Have a cup of tea. If you are here, then it can't be something solved in a single breath."

Shisui did not refuse. He sat where he was told. Fugaku poured him tea, and Shisui accepted it and drank quietly.

"Actually," Fugaku said after a moment, calm as ever, "I have thought about whether you would give up."

He glanced outside.

The weather was beautiful. Birds were even singing.

Shisui lowered his head, silent.

"But since you came," Fugaku continued, looking back at him, "that means you already decided."

Shisui was famous now. People across the village knew the Uchiha had produced a genius.

Shisui of the Body Flicker.

To think that a genius like that would abandon Konoha, stop fighting for coexistence, stop trying to negotiate, and choose a completely different road…

It was hard to accept.

"Yes, Clan Head," Shisui said, his eyes heavy. "I see no hope here."

He had trusted Danzo once. He truly believed the village's darkness would offer the Uchiha a path forward, that the thin thread of goodwill Danzo showed meant something real.

But after Kenichi spoke, doubt took root. Shisui began investigating.

And the truth he found was bloody, direct, and impossible to deny.

He had only refused to admit it before.

Fugaku fell silent for a long moment, then looked at Shisui and spoke.

"Take Sasuke and Itachi with you."

Shisui froze.

He had expected many things, but not that.

"Mikoto…" Shisui started, confused.

"We can't all leave," Fugaku said, reading the question in Shisui's face. "If Mikoto and I leave as well, the remaining clansmen will rebel immediately. The village will treat it as open war."

He paused, voice low.

"It is one thing for you to escape with people. It is another for the clan head to lead an exodus."

Shisui understood.

His throat tightened, but he only nodded.

He rose and left without saying more.

He still needed to gather comrades, and he already had a reason that would not raise suspicion.

Danzo had ordered him to act. Root would not question him if he used that.

As for escaping Konoha, Shisui had already chosen the route. He would slip out through the barrier nearest the Uchiha district.

He never imagined the village's isolation of the clan would become their best chance to survive.

Konoha had moved the Uchiha compound far from the village center, claiming it was to give them space to train.

Now, looking back, it was obvious. It had been done to isolate them and make them easier to monitor.

The problem was timing.

Shisui did not know how many Uchiha he needed to bring. He did not know how quickly Konoha and Root would notice something was wrong. He did not know how fast the pursuers would be.

And the meeting point Kenichi named was at the Valley of the End.

"How does that guy plan to get us out?" Shisui thought, his mind tangled.

He wanted to stay calm, but he could not. Too many lives were tied to his choice.

And now the Clan Head had entrusted his two sons to him.

The pressure on Shisui was heavier than ever.

At the same time, Kenichi ran into trouble of his own.

"Senior Kenichi Ahhh, I'm so happy to finally meet you!"

Kenichi stared at the excited figure in front of him, then at the two toned Zetsu standing beside him.

His lips twitched.

How did these two end up here?

That was truly unexpected.

"Kenichi?" Black Zetsu asked, sounding curious. "What are you doing here?"

Kenichi could only chuckle. Did they think he was stupid enough to "accidentally" run into them in a place like this?

Still, the two in front of him were a headache.

The one acting like an idiot was obviously Obito.

Kenichi could tell, but the mask blocked his Sharingan from reading what he wanted to see. He did not even know what the thing was made of.

Annoyingly impressive.

"I'm collecting a few things," Kenichi said casually, then looked at Zetsu. "But Senior Zetsu, who is this?"

Even though Kenichi knew exactly who Tobi was, he still had to pretend he did not.

Acting was exhausting.

"Senior Kenichi! I'm a new member of the organization! Just call me Tobi!" Obito declared, practically glowing, like a fan meeting his idol.

Kenichi inhaled slowly, then rubbed his face.

He really wanted to record this.

Showing it to Obito in the future would be priceless.

As if answering his wish, Kenichi pulled out a video recorder.

Black Zetsu stared at it in silence, falling into deep thought. It genuinely did not understand why Kenichi suddenly had a video recorder ready.

"Tobi," Kenichi said, voice bright with anticipation, "can you do that line again?"

Obito stiffened for an instant.

Then he forced himself back into character.

Inside his head, he was practically screaming at himself.

I am Tobi.

Not Obito.

Hold it in. Do not expose your identity.

"Senior Kenichi Ahhh! I'm so happy to finally meet you!" Obito shouted again, even more exaggerated than before.

"Not bad, not bad," Kenichi said, looking at the footage, laughing harder. "You really are a natural comedian."

This was rare.

A precious piece of Obito's embarrassing history.

In the future, it would be very useful. The truth was always sharper when used as mockery.

"Why do you carry a video camera with you?" Black Zetsu asked, unable to hold it back.

Kenichi laughed without hesitation. "I'm a researcher. Carrying a camera is normal, isn't it?"

Today's trip was already worth it.

At the very least, he got Obito's dark history on record.

And Obito had to maintain the Tobi persona, this ridiculous comedic mask.

"Senpai! You're so cool!" Obito yelled, his tone full of melodramatic enthusiasm.

Kenichi almost lost it again.

The contrast was too funny.

One day, Obito would stand there cold and cruel, wearing the face of a man who believed his pain was deeper than the world's.

And here he was now, shouting like this.

Kenichi could barely keep his smile under control.

Obito watched Kenichi laughing and had to take several deep breaths. He clenched his fists again and again. He had not felt this angry in a long time.

Kenichi's laughter made him want to explode.

But he held back.

He only wanted to create a world with Rin.

"By the way," Kenichi said, turning the recorder off and looking between them, "Zetsu, and this Tobi, since you're here, would you be interested in doing me a favor?"

With free labor standing right in front of him, it would be a waste not to use it.

He had been considering the best way to move his target, but with Obito and Zetsu here, it looked like the plan could change.

"I…" Black Zetsu began, clearly unwilling.

It had only come along because Obito wanted to investigate the matter of his missing eye.

Kenichi simply smiled, then looked straight at Obito.
