Chapter 216: New Ninjutsu Brought by the Shadow Clones
His teacher still had not returned.
Kenichi felt a little disappointed. He had been hoping to kill two birds with one stone and squeeze some research funding out of his teacher as well. After all, the more money he had for experiments, the better. Otherwise, sooner or later, he would hit the point where he simply could not afford to keep testing.
"For now, I can only lock Natsuhi in the cell under my lab," Kenichi muttered.
Then he glanced at the calendar and saw the date he had marked.
It was almost time.
It was almost time to receive experimental materials from Konoha, which meant he could continue verification. Once that verification succeeded, he could finally start executing his plan and deliver Obito a very special gift.
Still, before leaving the laboratory, Kenichi went to check on the rice improvement team's planting work.
The rice was nearly ripe. Heavy, full ears bent under the weight of plump grains, swaying gently in the field.
But the moment Kenichi arrived, he discovered something even more shocking than healthy crops.
Two of his Shadow Clones were clearly hiding something and doing it behind his back.
Kenichi's mouth twitched, but he walked over anyway. He wanted to see exactly what kind of nonsense they were up to this time.
"You can't come over right now, main body," one Shadow Clone said, immediately stepping in front of him.
Kenichi stared at it.
Good heavens. Sasori had not even triggered some puppet made AI disaster yet, and his own Shadow Clones were already trying to give him a Shadow Clone crisis?
"What's going on?" Kenichi asked.
The Shadow Clone quickly explained, "Those two got bored watching plants every day, so they went over there to research hydrofluoric acid. They're preparing it right now."
Kenichi stopped so fast he almost planted his face into the dirt.
Hydrofluoric acid?
Wasn't that the kind of thing you only prepared inside a heavily protected chemical lab? Full protective suit, gas mask, strict procedures, and constant ventilation. The standards were absurdly high, and for good reason.
The ventilation here was indeed good, but the real problem was simple.
His Shadow Clones were not wearing protective gear or masks at all.
Then Kenichi remembered something and his expression turned strange.
They were Shadow Clones.
They were made of chakra. Even if hydrofluoric acid hit them, at worst they would be damaged and disperse. The injury would not transfer back to his real body.
That was exactly why these two were acting so arrogant and brazen, daring to prepare something like hydrofluoric acid out in the open.
Hydrofluoric acid was exactly what it sounded like, an acid.
It was almost comical that it was classified as a weak acid, not even as strong as sulfuric acid. But if you talked about lethality, sulfuric acid was not even qualified to stand beside it.
Hydrofluoric acid was brutally corrosive. It ate through nearly anything it touched, except for a few special materials like polyethylene and certain special metals. Most substances would be destroyed.
Even glass was not safe.
In a normal lab, you could not even store hydrofluoric acid in glassware because the glass would be corroded too.
And the reason it was considered highly toxic was not just corrosion. It was also extremely volatile, and its harm to the human body was terrifying.
One drop on bare skin, without specialized treatment like calcium gluconate, could burn straight through to the bone.
If someone was splashed all over, treatment became extremely difficult.
In his previous life, the preparation, transport, and storage of hydrofluoric acid were all highly demanding, and specialized antidotes had to be kept on hand at all times.
Kenichi shifted to an upwind position as he spoke, cautious by instinct. Hydrofluoric acid was volatile. Its odor was pungent, and even if you could smell it, you did not want to be anywhere near it.

Kenichi took a slow breath.
Fine. He admitted it. This was his fault.
He had never expected his Shadow Clones to be this outrageous, but hydrofluoric acid really was terrifyingly effective against the human body. If it was combined with ninjutsu, the results would obviously be excellent.
For example, if you mixed hydrofluoric acid into Hidden Mist Jutsu, turning an entire area into dense fog filled with hydrofluoric acid vapor, the enemy would only be guarding against assassination strikes in the darkness.
They would never realize that the fog itself was the attack.
Kenichi's mind immediately jumped again.
"But if that's the case," he said, "couldn't we also develop Fire Release: White Phosphorus Flame Bomb?"
It was absolutely feasible.
White phosphorus bombs were simple to make and required no complicated technique. More importantly, they were basically an alternate version of Amaterasu. Once white phosphorus started burning, it kept burning until nothing was left.
If it stuck to someone's skin, it would burn skin, flesh, and bone. And the smoke released by burning white phosphorus was also toxic, making it a dangerous and practical weapon.
In his previous life, because of the psychological trauma it caused and its extreme cruelty, it had once been banned from use.
Kenichi's thoughts widened further.
"If that's true, then the weapons banned in my previous life should be exceptionally useful in the ninja world," he murmured. The idea felt uncomfortably logical.
After all, the ninja world did not have those strange conventions.
He looked at his Shadow Clones and nodded.
"Develop it properly. Pay attention to safety, and don't affect the crops," Kenichi said, patting them on the shoulder.
This was an unexpected pleasant surprise. He truly had not expected his Shadow Clones to pull off operations like this on their own.
Kenichi had known about hydrofluoric acid before, but because of how dangerous it was, he had never dared to prepare it himself. After arriving in the ninja world, he had simply stopped thinking about it.
But now that these Shadow Clones had started, it was not a bad thing.
Once it was produced, he could load it into glass bottles and drop them from high altitude.
Even though the glass would be corroded by the acid, by the time it ate through the container, the bottle would already have hit the ground, causing damage to the target below. It would also be difficult to detect, which meant both concealment and lethality were extremely high.
The only remaining problem was this.
After the hydrofluoric acid was produced, he needed to test whether chakra would affect it at all.
