'Duel Appreciate Club' is the name of club founded by Riko 4 years ago after joining the academy. On the surface, it seems just like a normal group of students loving duel. The only abnormal thing about the club is that the club only accept female students as its members.
Because of this, there was a time when a rumors of Riko being a lesbian got spread through the academy. But it didn't last long after the club members seeing the sight of their president simping over the video of Ryuji's duel or when she secretly kissing his picture when hiding in the toilet.
Riko action also causes the girls to develop interested in Ryuji, as the results, the club now has become Ryuji fan club. This happens because of Light of Corruption raise their corrupted point everytime they feel a positive feeling about him; in this case it's admiral. Then their affection points also get increase, the process is repeat until every of them become his fangirl.
Even Riko herself doesn't expect thing to turn out like that. Thankfully, the number of club members is not that many, only about 30 members. Since the club only accept people interested in becoming a duelist or a card researcher.
The president gets decided by a private duel event held by the club at the end of each year. The winner will be the president, as for the vice-president, it's belonged to the one with the most extraordinary feat in card research area.
The position of the president is occupied by Riko ever since she created the club. But after she graduated from the academy, the position is abandoned. The club members don't have ambitious for the position, so they just pick a random grade 9 students to be the leader of the club. The one who actually hold the authority of the club for now is the vice-president.
Talking about the current vice-president, it's no other than Kari. After all, no other person in the entire academy have more feat in card research than her. And after knowing the video of Ryuji they watch were all belong to Kari, her authority is far surpassed the president.
To be specific, the president is willing to give up her position for Kari if not for the club rules to only allowed duelist to be the president. But none of them hold such ambition anyway.
Everything they want is to take time to appreciate the greatness of their idol. Like now, surrounding the duel field of the red group, a group of girls were standing there with each of them holding a camera pointing at a specific person.
Ryuji scratch his cheek awkwardly as his fan point the camera at him, he even she some high school students among them. He just checks their affection/corrupted point and it's crazy how all of them are at least 80+
Okay, it actually not that crazy since in 4 years, he manages to raise the corrupted point of those close to him to 99/100. Those people including Riko, Kari, Tori and Rio. As for Dextra, she has already reach 99 long ago.
Well, that's not important for now. Ryuji put his gaze on the boy stand opposite him. He's currently on the first round of the tournament. And currently, the opponent has just started the first turn. 'Oh wait, what's his name again? Nah, he not someone important, not worth remember his name.'

Kari lightly shakes her head, she knows he has Time Thief deck but don't know if it's the machine deck Ryuji talk about. "Why bother with it? Hold your camera properly, make sure to caught all of his great moment."
Ryuji: "I normal summon Tin Goldfish; When this card is Normal Summoned: I can Special Summon 1 Level 4 monster from my hand. By this effect, I Normal Summon Green Gadget from my hand. When Green Gadget is Normal or Special Summoned: I can add 1 "Red Gadget" from my Deck to my hand."
Seeing the monster appear on Ryuji's field, everyone watching now have a look of seen some fossil walking around. 'Gadget? Doesn't this is the old archetype using by the first Duel King?'
'Using by the Duel King' is the phrase not every archetype deserves. But if you hand over the deck of Yugi to some kid in this era, then there's a great chance that they'll throw it directly into the trashcan. It's like giving a modern man a spear and telling them to fight in WW1.
But no one voice out their doubt, they could choose to not trust the deck, but they did trust the user. And Ryuji, the shining star in the duel circle deserve their trust. He is popular enough for 90% of people visit Heartland academy today know about him.
Ryuji of course won't disappoint them. "I overlay both of my monster to Xyz Summon Lavalval Chain! Lavalval Chain effect; I detach 1 material from this card to send 1 card from my Deck to the GY. And the card I send to the graveyard is-
-Makyura the Destructor!"
The moment Ryuji voice stops. Behind him, a tall figure surrounded in darkness with a millennium eye in the middle of its face show up. "Makyura the Destructor effect; During the turn this card is sent to the Graveyard, I can activate Trap Cards from my hand."
Yep, this is the pre-errata version, the banned card that only get released after its effect was changed. The absolute monster appears on 80% of OTK combo.
Of course, since Makyura already appear, then the trap card Ryuji about to activate is already clear for a veteran Yu-Gi-Oh player. The continuous trap that got banned because of the combo it can do alongside Gadget monsters and still in the ban list until this day.

But his opponent clearly doesn't understand the serious problem he is facing. "Hmph! All that effect just to activate a trap card? Oh please, I doubt you even have that much monster on your hand."

Ryuji was very satisfied for being able to use the banned card. Although Ouroboros in real life get banned because of its hand ripping effect, but it other effects are also powerful. It is basically the Xyz version of Trisula.
"You think this is it? Not quite, I activate Ultimate Offering effect again to Normal Summon Green Gadget from my hand, Green Gadget effect adds "Red Gadget" to my hand. I use Ultimate Offering effect once again to Normal Summon Red Gadget, Red Gadget add "Yellow Gadget" to my hand."

Ryuji doesn't care about the person stand opposite him. "I enter Battle Phase; I use Tornado Dragon and Evilswarm Ouroboros to attack directly!"
The opponent looks at the two attack come from two monsters, he quietly let out a defeated sigh. "So... This is the difference between a genius and a normal person huh?"
