Chapter 12 - Eleven

Eleven

Elaina's POV -

Finally, the long wait was over. It was my free time. From 1 pm to 3 pm. Time to rest and relax. I was on my way to my dormitory now. To take a rest from this very stressful day.

While on my way, my cell phone suddenly rang. Someone was calling. I picked my phone from my pocket.

It was Francine. I wondered what this was about. So better answer her call.

"Hello, Elaina speaking," I said.

"Hey, have you seen Alrisha?" She asked.

"Nope. Any problem?" I replied.

"She'll be late in P.E. class."

"Sorry but I haven't seen her."

"Where are you now?" She asked.

"Heading to my dormitory."

"Good timing. Will you please text or call me if she's in your dormitory?" She stated.

"Sure. You two are classmates?"

"Yea, only in P.E. class."

"Okay. I will ...." I suddenly paused as I stopped walking and my eyes turned big.

I saw someone... Someone I really knew.

"Hey,Elaina. What's wrong?" She wondered when she noticed that I didn't speak, "Are you there?"

I froze on where I stood and stared at that person.

Is it Dwayne Caster? And he's heading towards me face down.

Tears on his cheeks??

He just passed by as if he didn't see me.

What was with the tears?

And what was he doing in the girls' dormitory building?

"Hello? Are you still there?"

Francine's voice made me come back to my senses.

"What's with him?" I whispered.

"What are you talking about?" Francine was puzzled.

"Dwayne just passed by," I replied.

She sighed, "I thought it was something interesting."

"And the most interesting part was he was in tears," I explained.

"What? Why would he cry?" She incredulously asked.

"Who knows.." I answered.

"Whatever it is, just inform me when you see Alrisha."

"Okay.l," Then I hung up the phone.

I sighed.

I really didn't get it. I never saw Dwayne cry before.

Anyway, since it was none of my business, no needed to care about it. So I continued to walk again going to my dormitory.

When I arrived, I noticed the door was locked so I knocked twice and got no answer.

I guess she was not here.

While I was looking for the key in my bag, the doorknob suddenly turned and the door opened.

I looked at the door and saw Alrisha standing. Her eyes were swollen.

My eyebrows met.

"What happened to your eyes?" I asked.

"It's nothing. I'm a little bit sleepy," She replied with a fake smile, "What's up?"

I gave her an irritating look as I opened the door wider and stepped inside, "Don't give me that answer with a fake smile. You'll be late in your P.E. class and Francine is very worried." I said and closed the door as she stepped backward.

And I went to my bed and sat while Alrisha was leaning on the door.

"Can I skip?" She asked.

I raise my left eyebrow. "What?"

She sighed, "I just wanted to ask something and I don't know if it will take very long."

"Fine. What?"

"Do you know Dwight?" She asked.

"Yea. He's Dwayne's twin brother. What about that?" I answered.

"Dwayne has a twin brother?" She said with a surprised tone.

"Yea, he has," I said, raising my eyebrows.

She looked to the floor. "Okay, I have..."

"Wait, it's my turn to ask," I cut her off, "I saw Dwayne while I was heading here earlier, did he go here?"

She raised her head and looked at me. "That wasn't Dwayne. That's Dwight."

"So he went here?"

She bit her lower lip and turned around, "I have to go... I'm already late." She said as she opened the door and went outside.

"H-hey!" I called out.

But she had already closed the door. She didn't even care to listen to me.

Just what was happening here?

I sighed and layed on my bed.

First, I saw Dwayne, no it was Dwight, Alrisha said so, while I was heading here with tears on his face, and now, Alrisha was acting so strange.

Geez, what was with these people?

Wait... She said I have to go... I was already late before she left.

So she was going to her P.E. class.

I sat up and looked at her bed.

You were not a good liar, Alrisha. You're not stupid to attend your P.E. class without a P.E. attire.

Alrisha's POV -

Just walking around the campus. Like a stranger. It was quiet and peaceful because it was still class hours. But I didn't have any plans on attending my classes this afternoon. Skipping classes just for once. I missed doing this. The last time I did this was when I was in elementary. I missed those days so I was doing it again. I swore this would be the last.

While I was walking, I noticed that I went back to the flagpole thrice and this was the third time.

Well, I guess I needed some rest.

I went to one of the benches underneath the flagpole and sat.

A moment like this made my mind peaceful plus the soft touch of the wind made me feel like I was riding on the clouds.

I gently closed my eyes for a second and when I opened, I noticed that there was already someone sitting beside me.

"Skipping classes?" That person told me.

"Yea, just want to have some fresh air to clear up my mind," I replied without looking at that person.

"You have good taste," That person responded, "This place is suitable for confused minds and wants to settle things. Because of the trees around, that produces oxygen that refreshes the mind to think carefully."

I smiled, "What's this? A science discussion?"

"Could say that," That person replied.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"It's my free hour so I came here to relax my mind," That person answered back.

"And does it…" I paused.

Wait, why am I talking to strangers? I didn't even look at the person whoever I was talking with.

"What?" That person said when he noticed that I stopped talking and he looked at me.

I also looked at that person and...

"Sweet angel! Dwight! Why in hell are you here!?" I shouted in surprise.

"Relax, I'm Dwayne," He sounded a little disappointed.

I glanced at his left wrist and found no scar. He was really Dwayne.

"We've been talking already and you just noticed it now?" He almost chuckled.

Geez! He got me there.

"And what does a scumbag want?" I sarcastically said.

He sighed, "Don't be like that, Alrisha. I came here for peace."

"Ha!" I exclaimed, "A scumbag came for peace?" I gave him a sarcastic smile.

"I'm serious, okay?" He said, raising his eyebrows, "No lies."

I stared at his eyes for a minute and he was dead serious. However, i didn't by it.

"Are you trying to be funny?" I responded.

"Will you please listen first?" He said seriously.

I stared into his eyes and realized that he wasn't lying or fooling around. He also stared at me with a very sincere look.

Although I had some doubts... But It wouldn't hurt if I gave him a try.

"Okay, you have my ears," I stated.

"Do you know why Dwight came back here?" He asked.

Should I laugh at his question? Or took it seriously? I was not in the mood to discuss this.

"Did you eat your pride just for that stupid question?" I snorted.

"Will you just answer if you know?" He narrowed his eyes on me.

"What are you really up to, Caster?" My brows crossed.

"Just answer."

"I really don't know. All I know is, He won't do a thing without a reason," I answered as I stood and walked a few steps away from him, "Is that really a big deal?"

"You could say that. He's the type that even a devil would be afraid of," His was so creepy than it sounded.

Dwayne, are you for real?

I turned to him and asked, "Is he really that bad?"

"Yea. He always gets what he wants and if you think we're the worst," He turned around and looked at the leaves as they fell from the trees, "He's the worst. That's why Kieffer and he always end up with a blood-to-blood fight."

"Blood-to-blood?" I mumbled.

"Well," He turned around and looked at me, "if you tag along with Kieffer, you'll be safe," and he ended it with a wink.

"Hey Dwayne, what are you talking about?" I grimaced.

"Oh it's almost two," He said while looking at his wristwatch, "gonna go." He turned around and started to walk away, while both hands were in his pocket.

"Come back here, Dwayne Caster! We're still talking!" I yelled.

He turns his head to me while walking, "Thanks for the small talk. See ya," he waved his hand goodbye.

I would be safe if I tag along with Kieffer? Was he out of his mind?

We had been fighting all this time then suddenly tagged along with him? And his wink, what was that supposed to mean?

Geez! I really didn't understand how boys think.

==================================

The next day....

"Alrisha, try this one dear," My mom said while holding a pink dress.

"Oh mom, that's the 5th one. Could you give me a break?" I replied with a tired voice.

"Dear, I need to buy you the best dress that fits you. It's a big party, remember?" She explained as she handed the dress to me.

"I have many dresses at home, even gowns, and many of those weren't worn at once. I could just choose one from those," I explained as I grabbed the dress and handed it to the sales lady standing next to me.

But she just rolled her eyes and sighed.

I drop my shoulder and sigh, "Mom, are you even listening?"

She raised her eyebrow and put the dress down, "Just give me a chance dear, just for once," She ended it with a cute smile.

I sighed and tried to compose a smile.

Then she handed the dress again to me.

"Okay, I'll give it a try," I said and got the red cocktail dress from her hands and went to the fitting room.

She gladly smiled and went to the saleslady standing next to me, earlier.

Geez! A mother would always be a mother. Even if you had many of them, they still wanted a new one for you, Though you could only use it once.

Today was Saturday and the day that I wish wouldn't ever come. We had been here in the mall since 9 in the morning and now… I wondered what time it was.

I glanced at my wristwatch and it was already a quarter to TWELVE?!

Seriously? No kidding? We had been here for almost 3 hours? That was why I was already starving.

Geez!

This was the 6th dress and I hoped this would be the last. I was really tired.

Then I looked in the mirror to see my reflection.

I couldn't believe it. Was this really me? The cocktail dress looked so good to me and perfectly fitted my body figure.

I love it.

"Come out dear, let me see," My mom called.

"Coming," I answered as I unlocked the door and stepped outside.

"It perfectly fits you, dear. You look very gorgeous," Mom complimented.

I was not surprised if she said that. She always said that after fitting some dress.

"You are so beautiful," The saleslady complimented.

I smiled at her as a reply.

"We're taking that dress. Hurry and change, dear and after, bring that to counter 3. I'll pay that there." She said as she walked to counter 3.

Finally, after almost 3 hours...
