Among everyone present earlier, Yamanaka Fū was purely a sensory ninja.
If Neiki had replaced Torune Aburame, even with his exceptional disguise skills and thorough knowledge of Root procedures, he still would've been detected by Fū, an elite of the Yamanaka clan who could sense mental abnormalities.
Therefore, unless he killed Fū back at the Uchiha compound, Neiki had no plans to ambush Danzō.
What happened now was a spur-of-the-moment decision.
His original target had been Fugaku's eyes; killing Danzō was just an unexpected bonus.
Fugaku's Mangekyō Sharingan, which never showed its abilities in the original story, had finally revealed an astonishing power in this battle—even Neiki was impressed.
Sure, Fugaku's Susanoo was powerful, but no ninjutsu should have been so overwhelming that it left Konoha's forces helpless.
What made Fugaku's Susanoo feel invincible was that any method that could counter it would be erased before it even appeared—neutralized by those future-seeing eyes, or simply never coming into existence from the start.
Even Neiki hadn't foreseen a scenario like that.
The Uchiha clan's escape from Konoha largely hinged on this ability to see the future.
Although Neiki would never transplant those eyes into himself, he certainly wouldn't leave them behind for Konoha to claim.
And with Hashirama cells in his hands, these eyes would never go to waste.
"A sealing sword technique… like hitting an acupoint," Danzō muttered.
The wound felt numb and tingling. He looked down at the blade driven through his chest and realized his chakra had been completely sealed—he couldn't move at all.
"So this is the trump card you rely on to dare challenge me?" Danzō asked quietly.
He twitched his fingers.
The next moment—
Slash!
"Ahhh—!" Danzō screamed.
Blood sprayed.
Neiki severed the bandaged right arm.
"Planning to use the Binding Seal or Izanagi?" Neiki shook his head.
With a flick of his blade, Danzō's head flew from his shoulders.
The body toppled, kicking up a cloud of dust.
The Binding Seal was a curse technique Danzō had placed on all Root members to deter rebellion. Once activated, it would force a traitor into complete paralysis.
Neiki had never bothered telling him that while he couldn't break the Caged Bird Seal, the Binding Seal was child's play in comparison.
As for Izanagi—it was a divine Uchiha technique that allowed the user to overwrite reality itself: erasing unfavorable events that had already happened to them, while preserving only the beneficial ones.
Even the user's own death could be completely undone.
No matter which technique Danzō had intended to use, Neiki gave him no chance.
Whether it was the Binding Seal or Izanagi, both required hand seals.
And Neiki never let Danzō even start them.
From the moment he used the sealing sword to ambush him, to cutting off the arm full of Sharingan, to finally beheading Danzō, Neiki's movements were fluid and practiced—like a sequence he'd rehearsed thousands of times.
"I helped you, and this is how you repay me?"
As Neiki extracted Shisui's Sharingan from Danzō's eye socket, he suddenly spoke, casually tossing a kunai backward without turning around.
The kunai buried itself upright in the dirt before Fugaku, who had been about to retreat.
"You've killed plenty of Uchiha yourself," Fugaku said softly as he stopped and turned.
There was no helping it. Since the man clearly intended to die after securing Shisui's eye, Neiki lost interest in whatever else Danzō had been hiding in that arm.
"You can see the future. Did you foresee your own death?" Neiki approached with his sword.
"I can see one possible future. But now… I can't see anything," Fugaku replied, shaking his head.
After using his future-sight and Susanoo repeatedly throughout the day, Fugaku's Mangekyō Sharingan had dimmed back into ordinary black pupils. In that state, how could he possibly be a match for Neiki?
"That note from earlier—you sent it, didn't you?" Fugaku suddenly asked.
A casual conversation at the edge of death wouldn't delay the inevitable.
Neiki's sword slashed downward, met by Fugaku's kunai.
"Die quietly and I'll tell you," Neiki said.
"So it was you…" Fugaku sighed, fighting on despite Neiki's superior swordsmanship.
Wounds kept piling up. It was obvious Fugaku no longer feared death—he almost seemed eager to reach it, and still he asked:
"Since you dare to act… that means the Hyuga main house is already gone, isn't it?"
"Can't you foresee that much?"
Fugaku shook his head. "I can only see my own future. For things that have already happened, that isn't foresight."
The note was a matter of the past.
The Hyuga clan's fate had nothing to do with his own survival.
He couldn't extract that information through his Mangekyō.
"What's the point of knowing so much, then?" Neiki sneered as his sword ignited with flames and sliced through Fugaku's kunai and hand in one stroke.
Gritting his teeth against the pain, Fugaku formed hand seals with one hand and unleashed a massive Fireball, forcing Neiki back for a moment.
Breathing hard and drenched in sweat, Fugaku's lips curled upward.
"The fate of the Hyuga clan… at least makes me feel I made the right decision."
"When I reach the Pure Land, I'll be able to tell Hiashi… that the Uchiha truly were Konoha's greatest clan!!"
Neiki raised an eyebrow, faintly reminded of his own clan leader by Fugaku's stubbornness.
Closing in with his sword, Neiki commented:
"Whether the Uchiha are Konoha's greatest clan, I can't say. But your one-handed seals put Hiashi to shame."
"Stop resisting. I still have more Konoha shinobi to deal with. Don't you hate Konoha? You called my name earlier—you saw it, didn't you? What I'm planning to do?"
Fugaku nodded slowly, helplessly.
"We don't hate Konoha. If we did, why revolt…?"
"But yes—I foresaw your plans. That's why the Uchiha have to escape…"
He paused, as if noticing something amusing. He looked at Neiki with a faint, subtle smile.
"Did you know…"
"Izanagi is a forbidden Uchiha technique that requires only three seals."
"It can rewrite reality for just one minute—starting from the first seal."
"And the number of people who can perform seals with one hand… isn't limited to me…"
Before he could finish, a hand bearing a Konoha forehead protector clamped tightly around Fugaku's neck—
—and cut off both his words and his life.
