Chapter 2 - 2

Fuvk!" A splitting headache shot through my head as I groaned.

My eyes were so painful, it was hard to even move my eyelids.

I glanced around my surroundings and found myself in my own bed in my– room?

How did I even get here?

My thoughts were disrupted as I heard a weak groan beside me.

I looked beside me as the voice came from under the duvet.

Shakily, the figure popped up its head. Honey's face looked rough as her hair jumbled. She looked so worn out.

The alcohol must have had a huge effect on her.

"Honey?" I softly called her name.

She groaned in response and hid herself back in the duvet.

I sighed and opened my drawer to take out some pills to reduce my throbbing headache, relaxing more into my bed.

After what felt like hours I'd finally gained the strength to drag myself out of bed and made my way to the kitchen.

The tea kept bubbling on fire as I just stared at it.

How did we actually get back home? Did Honey call her friend or…

Sighing, I poured the hot tea in a cup, sitting down cross-legged, the comfort and the warm sensation of the tea made everything feel so calm around me.

Not long after, Honey came trudging downstairs groaning.

"Are you finally awake?" She murmured, clutching her stomach.

"I made some tea, in case you need it." With heavy steps she made herself a cup, slumping down next to me on the couch.

"This is so guuuuud!" She dragged, her voice chill, taking more gulps.

I snickered, not saying a word. Letting the silence in the room take over with the comfort it brought.

"Babes y'know, I can't even remember what happened last night after I'd passed out, but thanks for bringing me back safe." Honey's voice cut through the silence.

But it wasn't only the silence but the comfort.

My body froze as I couldn't quite decipher what she meant.

Does it mean…she's not the one who brought us back?

I did a quick side glance at her, she wasn't joking.

Normally Honey was one into these horror movies and thrillers and what not and always made fun of my fears towards it.

But now, not a single smile was cracked in her face.

"You're welcome, it wasn't easy though. I literally had to carry your heavy ass from the Uber to my room." I said and chuckled a bit.

"At least you know I have a big ass." She bit back.

Our laughter being the loudest sound in the room.

As it settled, Honey stood and stretched her whole body eliciting a loud yawn.

"I'll be heading to your room now, I need a long nap at this point." She smiled tiredly and yawned, dragging herself back to my room.

On the contrary, I was stuck on the couch. I couldn't really do anything about it since we are both safe and back in my apartment.

I readjusted myself to relax more on the couch.

Maybe I called an Uber earlier and forgot.

But if I did, how would the driver know my face?

Or maybe my boss?

Nah.

Letting out a loud sigh,I massaged my forehead and closed my eyes with my thoughts spiralling.

Maybe I should just let it be since nothing bad happened to either of us.

I guess the stranger was just being nice.

"What are you working on?" Honey's voice boomed all out in my sitting room, with her heavy steps adding to the noise.

She came closer to where I was still on the couch with my laptop in sight and coffee in hand.

I took a sip of the coffee giving her a curt reply "working on a project."

"Girl what's wrong?" Honey's mood changed due to my curt answer.

I didn't intend to be rude or anything, but honestly the work load and my thoughts of the mystery stranger and how we ended up back here safely in my apartment just kept my mind jumbled, making me extremely worn out.

"Nothing…just my boss has really been stressing me out. I didn't mean to be rude." I sighed, dropping my coffee on the table and asked. "Do you want anything?"

"Not really." She shrugged sitting next to me, staring at my laptop like she understood what I was working on.

"Girl, you still work from home? How's that even possible?" She exclaimed dramatically.

I just snickered, because this is easier than what I've been through.

"I just don't get it, like you work 9-5 everyday and yet you still end up working at home? I would never do such a thing!" She kept on rambling.

I woke up late due to the hangover completely forgetting about work till I got a text message from Ben enquiring of my whereabouts and all, which ended up with me on my couch with a laptop and a cup of coffee.

I was almost done when Honey said something that made me stop completely and looked at her.

"You said what?" If I had a mirror right this moment, I knew my eyes were as big as gulf balls.

She shrunk back into the couch more, " I said Noel called me last week asking if we could get back together."

Not that evil beast.

"I thought you blocked him." I blurted out, still in shock.

I love Honey, and she's really the best thing that happened to me as a friend, but sometimes she acts naive – not that she is.

She's not.

But Noel really messed her up and I can't stand and watch her go back to him.

I grimaced, slightly holding it together.

Johnny was a much better option compared to Noel.

"Honey, what did you say to him?" I swallowed up everything I wanted to say just to ask her that.

"I rejected him again and cut the call, nothing has happened ever since." She shrugged.

Was I the only one seeing the problem in this.

She spoke so casually about this that I was too baffled to even utter anything and just focused on my work.

Like that, the silence came back but not with its comfort.

First the stranger, now that psycho. It's like the problem keeps getting worse.

What if the nice stranger and…

No no no it can't be.

It's not what I'm thinking right?

Maybe the stranger might not be a stranger after all, he might have down this for something else.

I know now he wasn't just being nice. There is something being schemed on.

Something if off, although I couldn't see but I could definitely feel it.
