Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Gold Rank Set! Unreal Rewards!

Aiden narrowed his eyes and looked at the one who had escaped.

The sneaky assassin was shaking all over, his face full of fear and horror. He just stared at Aiden, unable to say a word.

He was dead.

They were all dead.

Seven Reclassers, all dangerous killers.

Even the strongest Heavy Shield Knight was level 19, and had once killed a 20-level warrior.

But now, they were all wiped out by this young man who looked only 18 or 19.

"Who... who are you? We The White City don't have someone like you! How did you even get here?!" The short assassin was shaking so hard his teeth were chattering. He spoke in a high-pitched, shaky voice, almost yelling. His eyes showed total desperation.

At that moment, Aiden remained calm. He just looked at the assassin and raised an eyebrow.

"One more left. Blazing Tornado wasn't perfect. If I had locked on better, it would've been better."

Aiden nodded to himself, thinking back over the fight.

He was a top student, good at analyzing and thinking logically.

If his awakened class wasn't so bad, he wouldn't have been laughed at by everyone at school.

He took a deep breath.

Then he raised his Crimson Flame Staff again, and silently said, "Fireball."

Killing a weak assassin like that didn't even need Blazing Tornado.

A simple Fireball was enough.

"Wait! What are you doing? No! No!" The assassin's face changed. He started to act crazy, opened his mouth like a fish out of water, and begged for mercy.

"Don't kill me! You can't kill me! I have something good on me! I can give it to you!"

"It's a..."

The assassin screamed wildly.

But the next second, a burning fireball hit him like the sun. With a loud boom, the assassin exploded into a pile of ashes.

Aiden's lips curled slightly. He smiled faintly. "I kill you, and all this is mine."

He wiped out an entire underground gang, a group of killers. Aiden didn't feel anything except a little faster heartbeat.

Again, those people were dead.

They weren't good people. Aiden had no guilt at all.

He took a deep breath, looked at the prompt screen, and in the next second, he trembled slightly. His face showed a huge, hard-to-hide surprise.

"So many?!"

[Defeated an assassin, +3,400 XP]

...

[Defeated an assassin, +340,000 XP]

[Defeated a Flame Mage, +620,000 XP]

[Defeated a Heavy Shield Knight, +1,230,000 XP]

...

"Are you crazy?!"

After seeing the prompt screen that even made Aiden feel a little dizzy, he couldn't help but tremble a little. It was way too much. This time, he had killed seven Reclassers, and got hundreds of thousands of experience points.

Hundreds of thousands!

What kind of deal was that? Normally, even killing a 20-level boss would only give a few thousand XP.

This was like Aiden had killed over a hundred 20-level bosses!

"Nice!"

Aiden took a deep breath. His mind was shaking. He thought to himself: "Once I unlock the First Class limit, I might be able to level up to Second Class in an instant."

At this moment, Aiden had the most experience points in the world. All the XP he had could be used to build a whole guild!

And himself? As long as he went to the Reclasser Association and completed the First Class, he would instantly reach the top of Second Class!

This was so sweet!

His arms were shaking, and he almost couldn't hold his Crimson Flame Staff. He nodded to himself and whispered: "College Testing? Even if I've always been just a regular Magic Apprentice, with all this XP and gear, I could carve a path through the College Testing!"

Rank was important.

But.

High level couldn't be made up by rank alone.

To be honest, even a Legendary Rank Reclasser, a level 1 against a level 100, had no chance at all.

Aiden could just use his 100x critical hit to level up fast. When the College Testing came, the other students wouldn't be facing a 10-level Magic Apprentice. They'd be facing a 100-level monster, fully equipped with high-tier gear!

His body gave a slight shudder as he tried to calm himself down. He looked back at the prompt screen and kept reading.

[Get 100 Enhancement Gems, 200 High-Level Health Potions, 200 High-Level Magic Potions, 400 High-Level Damage Boost Potions...]

[Get Equipment: Critical Ring (Gold Rank)]

[Get Equipment: Wounding Bracers (Gold Rank)]

[Get Equipment: Gale Boots (Gold Rank)]

[Get Equipment: Abyssal Belt (Diamond Rank)]

??

What?!!

Aiden just looked at the loot screen, and for a moment, he was completely frozen, standing there like a statue!

This was too terrifying.

The gear he got this time was all at least Gold Rank. And one of them was even a Diamond Rank item!

Diamond Rank.

Not a single one of them existed in The White City.

Not even the mayor had one.

Abyssal Belt - the first Diamond Rank gear in The White City. It was like a divine item.

But it wasn't just about getting gear. There were a lot of high-tier items too.

Aiden looked at them one by one.

[Enhancement Gem: Gold Rank. Using it will boost your stats. This one is a Strength Gem. Strength +10 after use]

[High-Tier Health Potion: Gold Rank. Using it will quickly restore your health. After restoring a lot, it will slowly recover more]

[High-Tier Mana Potion: Gold Rank. Using it will quickly restore your mana. After restoring a lot, it will slowly recover more]

[High-Tier Damage Amplifier Potion: Gold Rank. A light blue potion filled with Strength. Made by a high-tier boss. Using it will briefly boost physical or magic damage. It makes your damage stronger. Using two of these at the same time will give an extra boost. But be careful-using too many at once will reduce the effect]

Looking at all these high-tier items, Aiden stayed silent!

It wasn't just shock. His heart was pounding. A feeling of excitement he couldn't describe spread all over his body!

All of them were Gold Rank high-tier consumables!

Health potions and mana potions were super important. No need to explain how useful they are. Not only do they work surprisingly well in battle, but they're also super expensive!

Even Starlight Store gave these potions sparingly, not giving much.

But now? Aiden got two hundred of them at once!

Two hundred bottles!

Forget the rest. Just these four hundred potions, if he sold them for money, he could become a rich man overnight!

And even scarier was the damage amplifier potions. These high-tier potions were also Gold Rank, but... rarity made them valuable. They were super rare, and their effect was huge. They could instantly boost a Reclasser's damage.

In The White City, one damage amplifier potion could trade for three health potions!

And Aiden unlocked four hundred of them at once!

"Is this not a hundred-time bonus?" Aiden's heart was shaking. He muttered to himself.

Although, from the experience, it did look like it was a hundred times better.

A hundred-time gain!

But the quality of the items and gear was way too high. It scared him a little. From Aiden's guess, these Reclassers probably only carried one or two low-tier health or mana potions.

But with the critical hit amplification, Aiden got hundreds of high-tier potions all at once.

If that was also a hundred-time critical hit bonus, it would be too crazy.

"So, experience and the gear you get are separate from the critical hit amplification?" Aiden took a deep breath. "And this time, I killed seven stronger enemies, which boosted the critical hit effect, right?!"

Aiden was thinking to himself, and he started to find some patterns in the massive critical hit rewards.

"Then, I should try to challenge high-tier bosses as much as possible, and also kill multiple enemies at once. That's how you get the critical hit effect to increase."
