As soon as Bella finished speaking, the wall in front of her began to tremble slightly.
The golden bricks melted rapidly and swirled together, taking the shape of a little girl who looked to be only five or six years old.
"How did you know I was still awake?" the little girl asked, her big eyes shining like stars as she looked at Bella in confusion.
Bella smiled gently. Instantly, the light around her grew brighter and softer. Even the wind blowing past seemed to slow down, as if it were drawn to her smile.
"Just a guess," Bella said with a smile.
The little girl stuck out her tongue, clearly not believing her.
She hopped lightly and sat on the wall of the Golden Great Wall, gazing at the distant scenery. "Honestly, I don't know what that human has either. When he got close, I felt a very familiar presence, and that's what woke me up."
"A familiar presence?" Bella's smile slowly faded. Her expression grew puzzled, her eyes filled with confusion.
