"Aberrant" means abnormal, so why do I have the "Aberrant Mind" trait? Maybe it's because of the System itself? Most likely, yes.
The Shop is a place that sells unusual and epic items, but not heroic or mythical ones. The Battle Pass is also a place where you can get Titles, Weapons, Armor, Traits, and Currency. For the starting levels, up to 12, this will be very good loot.
I opened the Shop and started looking for the most useful trait. I searched for "devoted" and "Devoted to Magic" was the first result. It cost 300,000. This would help me if I chose a non-magical class like a Monk, Warrior, or Barbarian. I immediately added it to my favorites.
Right, now I need to create a build for myself. It's useless without a class for now, but I still need to quickly add all the useful skills and resources for rituals to my favorites.
I want to be a versatile, stealthy, close-combat mage. I need: Kir Potions, the "Wild Talent" trait, the "Remarkable Recovery" trait, the "Vigilant" trait, the "Stoic" trait, and the "Spell Juggler" trait. I also need a lot of experience for Charisma and Intelligence for analysis.
God, I'll confuse myself soon; it's not easy for many people to understand me. God, whoever created this System could have at least added hints, like "If you do this, that, and the other, you'll get Transcendent Points." Is it for every new level? Then why isn't my level displayed? That's illogical.
And I need to read books for beginner mages. Maybe that's how I'll earn points. God, I really need to read, or I'll bury myself in these thoughts.
I got up and went to look for the library. The library was a small room on the second floor, with shelves full of books covering all the walls, and soft couches in the middle.
I looked for books on magic to understand how it works. Clearly, the game greatly simplified magic itself. If it's the same as the game, I already know half of it, and just need to fill in the gaps.
I found what I was looking for: "History of the Eastern Dragon - Ryu Manju""Beyond the Souls - Cyrrolin""Soul, Body, and Mind - Kang Han Su""Theories on Racial Differences - Ruyu Sukui".
First, I need to understand what magic is and how it works. Then, how they differ and how to use them. I read the descriptions on the back of all the books and figured out the reading order. First, how it was discovered: "History of the Eastern Dragon" is about the discovery of spells and Kir. "Theories on Racial Differences" is about how races developed and evolved under the pressure of Kir. After that, "Beyond the Souls" and "Soul, Body, and Mind" are about how creatures across the world researched Kir and recorded all their findings.
I took the books and went to my room. I got out a notebook and a pencil case and started studying. I opened the book and began to read: [If you know how dragon birth works, I apologize. If you don't, you don't need to know. My father abandoned my mother, so she couldn't incubate me while I was inside the egg. I hatched earlier than the others and was sickly my whole life...]
I wrote down the first rule for using Kir in my notebook: There are no rules. Kir is what destroys the rules. But this doesn't apply to a creature's soul and mind until it dissipates. For this reason, it is called Kir, which means 'power' in the ancient Dragon language.
Dragons, Elves, Yuan-ti, any of the Genasi, Tritons, and many others are Sorcerers from birth; that is, they can use spells. Many wanted to study it, but the first to study Kir and create a spell from it was the dragon Ryu Manju.
My eyelids grew heavy under the pressure of knowledge. The letters blurred before my eyes [... my spells became stronger...] What, and why? The meaning of these words disappeared [... Orcs attacked...] That's a completely different race; how could they attack those who are stronger? Shadows danced before my eyes.
After an unknown amount of time, I opened my eyes. It was night outside. Did I sleep until night? I placed my pen between pages 73 and 74, where I had stopped. Getting up from the chair, I collapsed onto the bed.
My clothes and body smelled. I needed to wash. Damn, I hadn't even changed my clothes from those training sessions. I undressed, grabbed a towel, and threw the clothes into the basket near the door. Entering the bathroom, I tossed the towel onto the radiator.
I saw a smartphone on the sink. Oh, right, I forgot about it, I got too caught up in this atmosphere. I turned on the water, lay in the tub, and picked up the smartphone. I turned it on, but I don't know the damn password.
I started entering passwords: 0001, 0002, 0003, 0004, 0005, 0006, 0007. You have three attempts left. Damn, brute-force protection is here too. Fine, I'm not exactly a math genius, so I'll keep trying. 0008, 0009, 0010. Your smartphone is deactivated for 30 seconds.
When the water filled the edges of the tub, I washed myself. Afterward, I started trying passwords again: 0011, 0012... ... ... 0019, 0020. Your smartphone is deactivated. I dried off, went to the room, and lay down on the bed.
Finally, I opened the System window and was surprised:
"Characteristics"
"Statistics"
"Shop"
"Battle Pass"
"Archive"
"Support"
Archive had several more tabs:
"Weapons"
"Spells"
"Traits"
"Races"
"Bestiary"
"Resources"
"Artifacts"
This is very good. Under Races, there were many different windows with races and their variations. I know all these races. I scrolled down, and more and more races appeared. Then: "???: You have not yet unlocked this race." God, I have to unlock these races too. Luckily, there weren't many races left behind the question marks. And they weren't in the original game, so they must not be important.
Support was a chat:
[I am your personal assistant, Camelot. You may ask for help, and I will assist you to the best of my abilities.]
I tapped the lower text box and typed:
[Who are you? How did I get into this world?]
[I am Camelot. You were brought into this world for a higher mission.]
[What is this mission?]
[That information is confidential. You don't need to worry; we have already changed your fate. You won't be able to change it, no matter how hard you try.]
That sounded awful. I couldn't write anything else. I wouldn't find out anyway.
