Ethan;
I let out a breath as I feel consciousness slowly slip back into me.
I'm about to try holding on to sleep a little when I realise that… that this is no normal sleep.
My head feels heavy and waterlogged… and I feel completely wrecked.
Then the sound reaches me.
A soft, rhythmic beeping somewhere to my right.
My eyes open slowly in a squint and the first thing I see is… White.
Too much white.
The ceiling above me is unfamiliar in a way that makes my heart skip.
Bright lights hum faintly overhead, and the air smells faintly of antiseptic.
That monotonous depressing smell that only a hospital gives. The smell of antiseptic trying to drown out the stench of sickness.
Wait… I'm in a hospital!??
The realisation slams into me like a sudden cold water bath, and I stay frozen as my mind starts racing.
I stare up at the ceiling while my mind works sluggishly to catch up with my body.
I'm at a hospital.
That means something happened!!
