I keep my eyes on the documents in my hands as if my attention is on them, while I hear the door open.
The soft click echoes faintly through the living room, followed by the muted sound of footsteps walking down the corridor.
My attention shifts the moment he appears around the bend.
Ethan pauses slightly when he sees me, and I keep my expression blank as I wait.
