…
Two weeks.
He had leveled all the way up to Level 15.
This speed was pretty impressive, and Shiko was very satisfied.
Besides that,
the five points of Speed base stat were something he had added after receiving a system reward.
As for Dragon Breath and Ember in the move list,
those were moves he naturally learned after leveling up.
There was no need to repeatedly cast them to raise proficiency.
The moment he learned them,
he already understood them thoroughly.
As usual,
after taking a look at his level section,
Shiko understood he was about to evolve.
Charmander's first evolution would arrive at Level 16.
In other words, unless something unexpected happened,
tomorrow Shiko could complete the main quest for his first evolution.
It was finally coming!
Thinking of that,
Shiko casually opened his evolution tree.
Charmander's evolution route
presented two choices.
One was the normal Charmeleon.
Its build was a full size larger than his current Charmander form.
Its skin also shifted from orange-yellow to deep red.
Its limbs grew longer and slimmer, and its claws became sharper.
It looked imposing and handsome.
The other option,
was a small bipedal dinosaur—Agumon.
Its limbs were short and stout, and its body color and size weren't much different from Charmander.
Its head was huge, taking up nearly half its body.
Shiko's gaze moved back and forth between the two.
He hesitated over which one to choose for evolution.
Each stage of evolution allowed a fresh choice.
It wasn't like choosing Charmeleon meant the next stage could only evolve into Charizard.
So,
no matter which one he picked,
in the end he could still return to the WarGreymon route.
After he understood that,
Shiko thought for a moment and made his decision.
Comparing the two,
he leaned more toward choosing Charmeleon.
Since neither choice affected the final evolution form,
Shiko would obviously pick the one that looked better—Charmeleon, the cooler and more handsome option.
Agumon's triangular dinosaur head and short, thick forelimbs
just felt a bit strange to Shiko.
And once that unusual posture appeared in front of everyone,
the impact and shock it would cause went without saying.
Especially since he was only Entry-level right now.
If he ended up being targeted by those poaching evil organizations,
with no powerful backer or support behind him,
his days wouldn't be easy at all.
As for the evolution forms after Charmeleon,
Shiko followed the evolution tree further down.
There were a total of four options.
Each one had its own strengths and weaknesses.
All of them were powerful Pokémon.
At a glance, Shiko didn't feel an overwhelmingly strong urge to pick any single one.
And the WarGreymon he had been longing for
was in an even later stage of evolution.
In the same sequence as WarGreymon
were Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and two other forms.
But evolution at that stage
couldn't be achieved just by raising his level.
He would also need some special items.
And—
WarGreymon still wasn't the end of evolution!
After that,
there was another stage!
Only, the icon was grayed out.
Shiko couldn't make out what kind of Pokémon it was.
But without a doubt,
it was absolutely extremely powerful!
Strong enough to rival a legendary First-tier Legendary!
