The Pokémon had a yellow body and a pair of wings that looked slightly too small for its frame, giving it a rather disproportionate appearance.
That was right!
The Pokémon Shiko had sent out this time was also a Dragon-type Pokémon!
Moreover, it was another pseudo-legendary!
It was Dragonite, known as the Dragon Pokémon!
Its adorably innocent appearance made it extremely popular.
The moment Dragonite entered the battlefield, the spectators erupted into enthusiastic cheers.
The atmosphere in the venue instantly reached its peak.
The audience had originally assumed that Shiko would lead with the Salamence he had used in his previous match.
Never in their wildest dreams had they expected him to send out another Pokémon.
And it was another pseudo-legendary!
Oh my God!
This contestant actually owned two pseudo-legendary Pokémon!
The audience's attention was instantly captured.
Almost everyone in the entire venue turned their gaze toward this battlefield.
"Damn it! This is absolutely ridiculous!"
At first, when Joaquín realized that the Pokémon Shiko had released was not Salamence, he had breathed a small sigh of relief.
He had assumed that Shiko was deliberately going easy on him.
However, he never expected the man to bring out an entirely new Pokémon.
Worse still, it was another pseudo-legendary!
Joaquín stared at Dragonite.
Although the creature looked rather simple-minded and harmless, he could clearly sense that it possessed terrifying combat power.
Compared to the Salamence Shiko had used in his previous match, this Dragonite was probably not much weaker.
Thinking of this, Joaquín let out a sigh.
The final sliver of hope in his heart shattered completely.
"Since that's the case…"
"Then I have no choice but to give it everything I've got!"
Joaquín composed himself.
He had already come this far, so there was no way he would surrender simply because his opponent seemed overwhelmingly powerful.
That was not the kind of person he was.
And so, the battle between Machamp and Dragonite began.
The result was naturally obvious.
Machamp was only at the Gym level. There was no way it could compete with an Elite Four-level Dragonite.
Machamp was defeated in their very first exchange.
Fortunately, the Dragonite clan leader Shiko had captured in Dragon Valley was an outstanding physical attacker.
It even had a somewhat battle-hungry personality.
That was the only reason Machamp had been given an opportunity to engage Dragonite in close combat.
However, with Dragonite's extraordinary mobility, all Machamp could do was passively endure its attacks.
"How terrifying!"
Joaquín had clearly witnessed the exchange between Machamp and Dragonite.
The sight sent a chill through his heart.
Despite Machamp's tremendous strength, it had failed to last even a single second in a direct contest of physical power.
It had been as fragile as a sheet of paper, pierced through in an instant.
Joaquín silently took out a Poké Ball and recalled Machamp.
After the very first exchange, he already knew the answer.
Forget a one-on-one battle.
Even if all three of his Pokémon attacked Dragonite together, they probably still would not be able to defeat it.
However, there was nothing he could do about that.
The match still had to continue.
Joaquín therefore sent out his second Pokémon.
It was another pure Fighting-type Pokémon—Hitmonchan.
This battle also ended swiftly and decisively.
Against a single Dragon Claw from Dragonite, Hitmonchan's rapid punches did not even manage to touch its opponent before it was knocked out instantly.
Another one-hit knockout.
Joaquín had already anticipated this result.
Even so, witnessing it with his own eyes still sent a violent tremor through his heart.
He let out a sigh and glanced at the man standing across from him.
His opponent's entire body was concealed beneath a black robe.
His face could not be seen.
Only a pair of blue eyes was faintly visible beneath the hood, staring emotionlessly at the battlefield.
Joaquín took a deep breath.
He then raised his Poké Ball and recalled the unconscious Hitmonchan.
Immediately afterward, he sent out his final Pokémon.
It had to be said that Joaquín possessed a certain degree of strength to have made it this far.
His final Pokémon was a Conkeldurr.
Its strength was also quite impressive.
It had actually reached the Quasi-Elite Four level!
