All the Psychic-type energy drifting throughout the surrounding space seemed to receive some kind of summons.
It rapidly converged toward Mewtwo's hand.
The deep-purple sphere in its palm resembled a constantly churning vortex.
It continued devouring the surrounding energy...
And growing larger.
Originally, the energy sphere had only been about half the size of a fist.
But within a few breaths...
It had expanded until it was nearly the size of a human head.
The terrifying amount of energy contained within it was enough to make anyone's heart tremble.
The energy itself had already been extraordinarily pure.
Yet Mewtwo continued compressing it far beyond its normal limit.
Crackle!
Crackle!
Tiny explosions continuously erupted from within the sphere.
The energy itself was being pushed beyond what it could withstand.
Even the space surrounding the sphere had begun to show faint signs of collapse.
If Mewtwo threw this thing now...
Forget destroying a couple of mountains.
An entire section of space might simply be reduced to nothingness.
Completely annihilated by the overwhelming energy.
Mewtwo's mastery over Psychic-type energy had reached an unprecedented and absurd degree.
At this point...
What it was doing could hardly be called manipulating energy anymore.
Mewtwo itself seemed to have become a source of the purest Origin Energy...
Precisely drawing in every trace of compatible energy from its surroundings.
WarGreymon narrowed his eyes.
From the deep-purple sphere...
He sensed an unprecedented threat.
That energy was overwhelmingly violent.
Even with WarGreymon protected by his incredibly durable Chrome Digizoid Battle Armor...
If he took that attack directly...
There was a very high chance that he would be knocked unconscious on the spot and lose the ability to battle.

The best way to deal with such an attack...
Was to meet it head-on.
Almost at the exact same moment Mewtwo began gathering energy...
WarGreymon also started preparing his own attack.
He took a deep breath.
His deep-blue dragon eyes became more solemn than ever before.
WarGreymon raised both arms high above his head.
Then...
A bright-yellow sphere of energy began forming between his hands.
At first, it was nothing more than the faint outline of a pale-yellow point of light.
Gradually...
It became increasingly solid.
Brilliant radiance continuously erupted from it.
Soon, it was shining as brightly as the sun itself.
An incredibly dense Dragon-type aura swirled within it.
Lightning raged around the sphere.
And that wasn't all.
Ground-type and Fire-type energy could also be clearly sensed within that dazzling mass of light.
Three different types of power...
Yet there was no sense of disorder whatsoever.
Instead, they blended together with extraordinary harmony.
It was almost as though all three had originated from the same source.
The three forces merged together...
Maintaining an incredibly delicate balance.
And it was precisely that unusual equilibrium...
That caused the power released by the three energies to far surpass a simple combination of their individual strength.
Their power multiplied exponentially.
The sphere above WarGreymon continued expanding.
The energy contained within it also continued increasing.
Both fighters were using energy-based attacks.
But Mewtwo and WarGreymon had chosen completely different approaches.
Mewtwo pursued absolute purity.
It compressed a single type of fundamental energy to the extreme...
Producing the most violent and destructive force possible.
WarGreymon...
Chose to merge multiple types of energy into one.
By allowing several different powers to continuously amplify one another...
The strength of his attack multiplied again and again.
Until finally...
It became an ultimate attack possessing equally terrifying destructive power.
At this moment...
Everyone in the stadium had their attention completely drawn toward the two combatants.
They even seemed to forget how to breathe.
Necks craned upward.
Eyes fixed firmly on the sky.
Everyone waited...
Anticipating the earth-shattering collision that was about to occur.
When Mewtwo's energy reached the greatest degree of compression it could control...
And when WarGreymon's sphere expanded to the absolute limit at which he could still maintain that exquisite balance...
Both of them attacked.
"Psystrike!"
In less than the blink of an eye...
The two attacks collided in midair.
Visually...
Mewtwo's energy sphere wasn't even one-tenth the size of Gaia Force.
But the energy contained within it was absolutely comparable.
Yet when the two attacks collided...
The tremendous explosion everyone expected didn't happen.
Instead...
Something completely unexpected occurred.
Gaia Force resembled a massive block of butter.
While Psystrike was like a red-hot iron sphere.
The instant they collided...
Psystrike melted a hole straight into Gaia Force.
And then disappeared inside it.
Huh?
What was going on?
How could this happen?
For a moment, everyone watching was completely dumbfounded.
No one had expected something like this.
They had all prepared themselves for a massive explosion.
After all...
A collision between attacks of this level should have caused a terrifying disturbance.
Yet the actual scene was bizarrely dramatic.
It looked as though Psystrike had pierced straight through Gaia Force.
But at the same time...
It also looked as though Gaia Force had swallowed Psystrike whole.
No one could determine what had actually happened.
Which attack had won that exchange?
Which side held the advantage?
Then...
The situation abruptly changed again.
The enormous Gaia Force, blazing like a miniature sun...
Suddenly developed countless cracks across its surface.
The fractures spread throughout the entire sphere.
And then—
BOOM!!
Under countless stunned gazes...
Gaia Force exploded.
Ground-type, Fire-type, and Dragon-type energy erupted in three distinct colors.
The three energies churned together in midair...
Forming a massive tri-colored storm.
It roared violently through the sky.
Had WarGreymon lost?
The spectators' hearts immediately sank.
From what they could see...
It appeared that WarGreymon's attack had been slightly weaker.
And Mewtwo had defeated it.
But then...
Another completely unexpected development occurred.
Psystrike, which had reappeared after Gaia Force shattered...
Suddenly exploded as well.
BOOM!!
Another mass of deep-purple Psychic-type energy erupted into the sky.
Now...
Four different forms of energy mixed together.
They created an even more terrifying storm throughout the surrounding space.
And more astonishingly...
At the exact location where the explosion had occurred...
A massive hole had been torn open in space itself.
An ear-piercing spatial storm could clearly be heard beyond the rupture.
The astonishing suction force from the pitch-black spatial void instantly swallowed the raging energy storm.
Every trace of the chaotic energy disappeared inside it.
Then...
Those energies seemed to transform into some unknown substance.
Little by little...
The shattered space began repairing itself.
Until eventually...
The spatial rupture completely disappeared.
The energy storm was gone as well.
The sky became calm and clear again.
It looked...
As though nothing had ever happened.
