Chapter 3 - Heroes

It all felt wrong to James, and several times he bit his lips, praying he was in a dream, but reality never wavered.

He had left Coldspire City, travelling all the way to Glassport to start a new life.

They said one couldn't run from their past, but James had sought to not just escape it, but bury it.

No one knew him in Glassport, located overseas in a different country; the city had no connection with his previous residence at all.

Looking at Olivia now, the woman's desire to enact revenge, to bring him down and most importantly to subdue him bleeding through her eyes, he wondered how she had come across the video.

James had prepared for his breakaway from Coldspire City long before he even wrote his final high school exams.

He had saved up and taken them in a different town, going as far as filling in the wrong address when asked for the residence of his guardian.

Hate brewed and bubbled within James, the change in his emotions from only fear and anger showing in how the grey moved, hisses rather than silent whisperings coming from it.

James' fist tightened, him constantly having to fight the urge to charge the woman and pummel her till he could move his limbs no more — then she opened her mouth and blabbed further.

"Incomplete man."

No matter how vicious Olivia tried to be, James had spent two years of his life around teens carrying the label of a tiny weenie. It would take the woman divine inspiration to hit him with something new; all her words did was reopen old wounds, cuts he thought he had healed from and gone past.

'How malleable the human mind is.'

From behind his eyes, James could feel the tears coming, overpowering shame trying to consume him.

Try as he did, singing a mantra in his head, reminding himself of who he was and how his existence couldn't be dictated by the size of his dick, James was a proud man.

He might not be the most handsome, but he was handsome enough, and on good days he got girls looking his way. He might not be the smartest, but he was smart, and he disciplined himself well enough to be one of the top performers in his class.

A therapist might tell him otherwise, he might try telling himself otherwise, but deep down he knew the truth he cared, cared a big deal about his dick size.

He wanted to fuck and not just make a woman moan, but make her scream, turn Olivia around and pound her till eternity, but…..

"First, pull down your pants. I want to see it," Olivia said.

"No."

The swift and immediate answer caused Olivia to pause mid-step, the girl blinking in surprise.

"W… what do you mean?"

"I'm not pulling down my pants, and you're not going to do anything with that video.

You're going to delete all traces you have of it, and forget it exists."

"Or what?"

James thickened his tone as he spoke, slowly moving towards Olivia till he looked down at her, but the blonde wasn't strictly a soft bitch, she was also wild, and despite feeling intimidated, she lashed out, drawing her vestiges of confidence from thoughts of her father.

"I'll kill you. I don't care if it costs me my life, I'll make sure I bury you," James said, each word coming out slowly, putting in every bit of emotion.

He looked into the blonde's eyes as he spoke, his gaze making her lean backward with trembling eyes, and then he turned and swiftly left the room.

"Hey, James, you hit something in there?" a familiar voice came from behind, but James ignored it.

His face locked tight, Olivia's phone held firm in his grip, James moved with purpose and determination.

He passed by several familiar faces while going through the corridor, several people calling his name, but he ignored them all.

Still descending the stairs, he locked eyes with the door a few meters away, ignoring the throngs of students that stood between.

He had just reached the ground floor when the loud music booming through the house suddenly went off, and a voice shouted,

"Guys, there's been an attack in the city!"

The sudden occurrence didn't distract James, but as he sifted his way through the crowd, murmurs already beginning to rise, a large TV at the side of the room switched on and the voice of a news reporter, coupled with the chaos happening behind her, made him stop and turn.

{It's nighttime, but evil does not rest in Glassport City. What was supposed to be a grand charity event for those living in war-torn areas has turned into a nightmare, as the villain Bang Titan and his accomplice have stormed the building, killing all the security and taking everyone inside hostage.

The police attempted to retake the building, sending in a SWAT team, a heavy fight breaking out between them and the villain's henchmen, but they are currently being pushed back.

Right now, heroes like Sound Boy and GoldMax have arrived on the scene and are helping out, but it would take a B-Rank level hero for Bang Titan and his team to be dealt with.

When will the Cross Guild send out a hero, or will the Hero Association act?}
