Keifer's POV
School let out in a flood of backpacks and chatter. Jay and I met at the gates, her hand finding mine automatic. Section E trailed like a parade — C-in leading chants about "pizza Friday," Felix debating toppings with Percy.
Serina's car waited, hazard lights flashing. She waved from the window. "Hop in! Grocery run for movie night!"
Chaos ensued. Keiren and Keigan claimed shotgun, Jay squeezed between me and Rakki in back, the rest piling into Angelo's truck behind us.
Supermarket turned battlefield. C-in loaded the cart with candy towers. Percy snuck hot sauce into the popcorn. Serina just laughed, tossing in extra mangoes. "For my favorite daughter-in-law," she winked at Jay.
Jay beamed, cheeks pink.
Home — our home — filled fast. Brothers wrestling over controllers, Aunty Gemma commandeering the kitchen, Eman dropping off lumpia "for the legend family."
Movie started late — rom-com, as promised. Lights low, blankets everywhere. Jay curled against my side, head on my chest.
Halfway through, she whispered, "Happy?"
I kissed her hair. "Stupid happy."
Serina caught my eye from across the room, smiling soft.
Family.
Whole.
No more missing pieces.
Fade to laughter. Fade to credits. Fade to peace.
