Chapter 96: The Pillar of Light Arrives

"He is the superhero Man in Black." In Daisy's view, the one wearing the Mingta mask was the superhero.

"Shh~ Miss, you can call me Destiny," Silas said, winking at Daisy.

Seeing that Silas had actually acknowledged her, Daisy jumped up excitedly and raised her hands. "Okay, Destiny!"

"So, that's him," Jane said, remembering the superhero Daisy constantly talked about.

"Destiny?! That's a truly arrogant title," Fandral scoffed. A Midgardian daring to call himself Destiny.

"No need to talk to him anymore. Attack him!" Volstagg swallowed his potato chips whole, raised his ax, and charged.

When he reached Silas, Volstagg brought his ax down. Silas watched Volstagg's ax, shifted his body slightly, easily dodged the blow, and then delivered a knee strike to Volstagg's abdomen.

"Ugh!" Volstagg grunted, clutching his stomach in pain. That kick packed a real punch.

Once Volstagg recovered, he tried to raise his ax to continue attacking Silas, but Silas kicked the ax out of his hand. Then, Silas grabbed Volstagg's right arm and executed an over-the-shoulder throw, slamming him hard onto the ground.

"Urp!" Volstagg threw up all the potato chips he had just eaten.

"Volstagg!" Fandral and Hogun shouted.

Fandral and Hogun exchanged a look, grabbed their weapons, and rushed to Volstagg's aid.

"You damned fellow." Fandral aimed a swift cut at Silas's head.

Silas reached out and grabbed Fandral's hand holding the blade, preventing the knife from advancing any further.

"Damn it, since when did Midgardians have such strength?" Fandral cursed under his breath.

"I'm coming!" Hogun stabbed his sword toward Silas's abdomen, hoping Silas would let go of Fandral.

But there was no way Silas would comply. He lifted one foot and stepped on the longsword Hogun held, pinning it firmly to the ground. Hogun tried to pull the sword out, but even with all his strength, he couldn't budge it. "Damn it, what is this devilry?"

Just as Silas was about to smile, his Spider-Sense jolted his mind, and his body involuntarily twitched. Not good! Silas released Hogun's longsword from under his foot, pulled Fandral down to the ground, and then leaped up, using Hogun's shoulder as a springboard to jump onto a nearby ten-foot wall.

Bang!

A spear plunged into the ground where Silas had just been standing. Sif ran over to the spear and pulled it out.

"Are you all right?" Sif felt a sharp sense of trouble. This Midgardian had defeated the Warriors Three with such ease.

Fandral and Hogun slowly got up and helped Volstagg, who was vomiting on the side. "We're fine."

"The devil, how is this Midgardian so strong?" Volstagg recovered enough to speak, his stomach still aching.

"I don't know, but it looks like we've got a fight on our hands," Sif said, cracking her neck.

Fandral pointed toward the fighting Thors ahead. "Should we call Thor?"

"Not yet. If we can't even defeat a Midgardian, are we really Asgardians?" Sif was far too proud to accept that.

Fandral nodded. "In that case, let's attack together! Hah!"

Fandral charged first, with the other three immediately following, ready to coordinate and take down the Midgardian before them.

"You'd better be ready for this slice." Fandral jumped off a loose rock, holding his greatsword high above Silas's head with both hands.

At the same time, Hogun and Volstagg came up on both sides of Silas, using their weapons to try and sandwich him.

Just as Silas was about to retreat, Sif, with her spear, blocked his escape route.

"Nice teamwork," Silas praised them, but to him, it still wasn't enough.

Silas immediately slipped into the Shadow Realm, disappearing from the spot and causing everyone's attacks to hit nothing but air.

Just as everyone was looking around in confusion, Silas reappeared right behind Fandral.

"Watch out!" Sif shouted.

Fandral barely started to turn when Silas grabbed his right hand and wrenched it behind his back, disarming him. Clang! His greatsword dropped to the ground.

Fandral tried to use his left hand to retrieve it, but Silas's eyes suddenly fired a laser beam, cutting the greatsword in half.

"Wha—!" Fandral couldn't believe his weapon, which had been with him for so many years, was gone just like that.

Taking advantage of Fandral's moment of shock, Silas kicked the back of Fandral's knee, forcing him to kneel.

Then, Silas vanished from their sight again, but this time, he merely turned invisible instead of entering the Shadow Realm.

"Where did he run off to now!" Volstagg complained, rubbing his head.

No sooner had he spoken than Volstagg suddenly heard footsteps, followed by a sharp pain in both wrists, and his ax dropped to the ground. Then, they saw Silas reappear behind him, and his beloved ax, which had been with him for years, was also sliced in half by Silas's laser beam.

Hogun, the closest to Volstagg, was about to help him, but Silas disappeared again.

"Stop!" Hogun suddenly realized what was happening, but accompanied by a sound of footsteps, he felt a sharp pain in his sword hand. His longsword met the same fate as the previous weapons, severed into two halves by Silas's laser beam.

"And now you," Silas said, turning to Sif, who tightly gripped her spear.

Sif rolled her eyes in exasperation and shouted, "Thor! We might need your help over here!"

"Huh?" Evil Thor, who was punching Good Thor, stopped and turned to look at Silas.

"Who are you?" Evil Thor saw his companions sprawled on the ground, and his tone became annoyed.

Good Thor looked over and said, "No! what happened to you all!" He hurried to the Warriors Three and flew over, helping them up one by one.

"Hello, Thor, I've come for you," Silas finally addressed the main targets.

"For me?" Good Thor and Evil Thor asked in unison.

"No, he's here for me," Evil Thor said, pointing to himself.

Good Thor stubbornly replied, "But I'm also Thor..."

"Alright, how about a handshake with me now?" Silas extended both of his hands, smiling.

"Forget it." Evil Thor's body crackled with electricity. "Let's fight first!"

With that, Evil Thor charged at Silas like a bolt of lightning, letting out bursts of thunder in mid-air.

"Don't hurt that Midgardian!" Good Thor knew that one hit from this attack would kill the Man in Black.

So, Good Thor raised Mjölnir and summoned a lightning bolt, striking Evil Thor just as he was about to attack Silas.

Boom!

Evil Thor was hit by Good Thor's sudden attack and was sent flying into the nearby wreckage.

"Uh... sorry, I hit you a little hard," Good Thor said, scratching his head apologetically.

"Excellent. Just like that," Evil Thor said, pushing the debris and stones off his body. He looked slightly disheveled and covered in dust.

It was at this moment that a pillar of light descended upon them!
