Chapter 190: Parker Industries
Parker Industries was officially established!
Silas served as the hidden master of Parker Industries, while Little Black was the executive officer in control of the company's public face. Furthermore, the high-tech products of Parker Industries were also the handiwork of Little Black.
Two months passed in a flash.
Parker Industries was like a rising star, suddenly illuminating all of New York. The New York media scrambled and fought for a chance to interview the owner of this new company. However, Little Black rejected them all. For now, Parker Industries was only producing some mass-market tech products; it was still a long way off from Stark Industries.
Meanwhile, Stark Industries' stock prices were soaring after Tony helped develop a new type of clean energy.
"Begin recruiting talent," Little Black said. He was currently in a lavish office.
"We have already released recruitment notices worldwide," replied Little Black's assistant, who was also a Black Shadow Ninja. All the true high-level executives of Parker Industries were members of the Black Shadow Corps.
However, the Shadow Corps alone wasn't enough; they needed human help. Money was of no concern to them. If they wanted, they could increase the registered capital to ten billion dollars at any moment.
"Mhm. For any inventions or creative ideas produced in this company, give them bonuses based on the situation. The minimum is $10,000, and there is no upper limit! Then, have one of our partners put on a show," Little Black said with the air of a wealthy tycoon.
"Yes, Chairman," the Shadow assistant said. The public-facing work had to be perfect.
"You may leave." Little Black waved a hand, and the assistant opened the door and departed.
Shortly after, a mass of shadows appeared behind Little Black.
"What are you doing here?" Little Black asked, exasperated.
"Heh heh~ Hey, could you give me a General Manager position to play around with?" The newcomer was Big Black.
When planning the creation of Parker Industries, Little Black hadn't included Big Black at all.
"Impossible. Don't even think about it." Little Black didn't hesitate for a second, flatly refusing Big Black's plea. Giving the General Manager position to Big Black would be worse than letting a fool run the company.
"Hmph..." Big Black stared intently at Little Black before slowly sinking into the Shadow Kingdom. He had decided to do something big on his own.
"Keep an eye on that idiot and see what he's up to," Little Black said expressionlessly.
A tall, bald black man appeared behind him, his body covered in dozens of ferocious dragon tattoos.
"Yes." The man vanished into the Shadow Kingdom.
"Sigh~ none of them can make things easy," Little Black sighed, rubbing his head.
Even his master, Silas, was the same—he had just dumped Parker Industries entirely onto him. Now Little Black had to upgrade suits, manage a company, and keep a constant eye on the birth of new products. It was lucky that Little Black was a magical creation of the Shadow Corps; if he were human, he would have died of exhaustion long ago.
"Today seems to be the Master's graduation day. I should prepare some gifts." Little Black signed his name on a company document: Howard Parker.
As for why he didn't use the name Howard Stark? That was obvious. It was Parker Industries; having the surname Stark wouldn't make any sense.
Midtown High Graduation Ceremony
"As your principal, I am very gratified to have raised students such as yourselves..." Coulson was giving a grand speech on the podium.
As an agent, his mission was officially complete. With Peter's graduation, there was no longer any point in him staying here.
"I've noticed the Principal's hair is getting thinner and thinner," Ned remarked, looking at Coulson's shiny, balding head.
"It really seems that way," Misty agreed.
"Speaking of which, do you guys want to go on a trip together this summer?" Peter suggested. It was a great idea.
"I'm in!" Ned was the first to raise his hand. "Everyone's been so busy studying lately; we haven't hung out in ages."
"How about we go camping?" Misty wanted to have some fun in the forest.
"Camping... isn't that a bit dangerous?" Ned asked, a bit fearful. They were just adults now and hadn't even learned how to use a gun. Going into the wild usually required carrying a firearm to protect against wild animals.
"Great idea. Don't worry, Ned, I'm here." Peter was Spider-Man; the terrorists he had dealt with over the past two months were much scarier than wild beasts.
"What are you guys chatting about?" Silas arrived holding a bag with four bottles of drinks, distributing them to Peter and the others. Everyone had said they were thirsty, so Silas had volunteered to go buy drinks.
"Peter and the others want to go camping. What do you think, Silas?" Ned asked after taking a sip of cola.
"No problem, I think it's a great idea," Silas smiled.
"Aren't you afraid of wild animals?" Ned asked.
Silas chuckled softly. "Why would I be afraid of animals?" Between his own strength and the Shadow Corps, wild animals were the least of his concerns.
"Alright then. But just to be safe, how about we go to a developed forest area?" Ned suddenly thought of the parks; those were quite suitable for camping.
Misty immediately rejected the idea. "No, Ned. There's no fun in that. It's better to go to an undeveloped forest." She was afraid that many people had the same camping idea, and if they went to a developed spot, it would be crowded and lose the atmosphere.
"Don't worry, Ned. I can bring a gun," Misty comforted him. Due to her family background, she had been exposed to firearms early on. She had a talent for shooting and would often go to the range as a hobby.
"Okay then." Hearing that a girl like Misty wasn't afraid at all, Ned felt that if he remained hesitant, he would surely be looked down upon. Besides, Misty was bringing a gun anyway.
"Don't worry, Ned. You have me," Peter winked at him.
"Thanks," Ned muttered. Although he didn't know where Peter got the confidence to say he'd protect him, he was still touched by the sentiment.
"Great! I'll cover the camping expenses!" Misty said, patting her chest confidently. Silas, sitting next to her, found his attention momentarily diverted by her confident gesture.
"Miss Misty, please take me with you!" Ned suddenly remembered that Misty was the daughter of a wealthy man; she could be a big help once they entered the workforce.
Ten minutes later...
"That concludes my speech. I will now hand the podium over to our outstanding student, Peter Parker!" Coulson shouted Peter's name, pointing toward him in the audience.
"Woo-hoo!"
"Yeah! Go Peter!"
The entire student body cheered, accompanied by plenty of whistling.
"Go on, Peter!" Silas laughed.
"Mhm!" Peter nodded to Silas and walked confidently onto the stage. Looking out at his classmates, Peter beamed. With his spider powers, he was no longer as introverted as before; instead, he was much more radiant.
"Hello everyone, my name is Peter Parker..."
