Chapter 455 - Chapter 455: A Chance to Travel Through Time?

Chapter 455: A Chance to Travel Through Time?

Silas, his heart racing with a mix of excitement and disbelief, approached the cinema counter and purchased a ticket for Avengers: Endgame.

About two hours later...

"My name is Silas, and I'm a transmigrator from Marvel?"

The Marvel World

"You... him..." Rocket was at a loss for words as he stared at Thor. You just killed Thanos like that?

Thor didn't answer. He merely cast a gaze filled with lingering hatred at Thanos's severed head before turning and walking away without a word.

The room fell into a heavy silence. The grand rescue mission had ended in such a hollow, abrupt way.

"Let's go back," Steve said, shaking his head with a sigh. He left the hut, followed closely by Natasha, Rhodey, and Banner.

Nebula looked away, unable to bring herself to stare at her father's remains, and followed them out.

"Let's go, Peter," Gwen said, patting Peter's back. Peter's clenched fist slowly relaxed. He nodded silently and led Gwen out.

"What are you still doing here?" Carol Danvers had been about to fly off when she noticed Misty still standing motionless by the body.

Misty snapped out of her trance. "Nothing. You go ahead."

"Right." Carol gave her a curious look before ignuring in a burst of starlight, vanishing into the sky.

Once everyone was gone, a transparent, mirror-like shard materialized in Misty's hand.

She raised the weapon over Thanos's head. "This death was far too easy for you."

Pfft!

On the Starship

"Where were you?" Rhodey asked, looking up from his music as Misty stepped through a spark portal.

Misty didn't respond. However, her yellow sorcerer's robes were splattered with fresh, crimson blood, blooming across the fabric like red plum blossoms on white paper.

Seeing her dark expression, Rhodey shrugged and didn't press further. Misty looked like someone you didn't want to cross right now.

"Misty, what are your plans now?" Peter asked, coming over to her.

Misty looked up with vacant eyes. "I'm going to Kamar-Taj to train. I'm dropping out of school."

"Kamar-Taj? The place where the sorcerers study?" Peter tried to distract her, fearing she was sliding into a dangerous extreme.

"Yes. Wong says I need to focus on my training," Misty said, offering a small, sad smile. She wasn't as fragile as Peter feared.

Peter felt a slight wave of relief. At least she wasn't completely broken.

The ship eventually broke Earth's atmosphere and landed.

"By the way, Peter," Steve said as he prepared to leave the base. "Silas's last words were to remember him often."

"Remember him? Of course I will," Peter said, shaking his head with a wistful smile. Silas was his brother; he could never forget him.

Everyone returned to their lives. Steve worked with world governments to stabilize the chaos. Peter and Gwen returned to school.

But New York soon gained a new guardian. Alongside Spider-Man, a white-clad spider-hero appeared. Two figures, one red and one white, swung through the city, striking fear into the hearts of criminals.

Five Years Later

Peter and Ben stood before a grave in a quiet cemetery. It was Silas's memorial.

"Silas... we're doing okay. My relationship with Gwen has only gotten stronger. We've already talked about it—once we hit the legal age, we're getting married."

"Felicia and Wanda were taken by the Snap, too. But at least they're with you on the other side. You aren't alone."

"Misty is the new leader at Kamar-Taj now. They call her the Sorcerer Supreme. I don't fully get what it means, but it sounds like she's a big deal."

Peter placed fresh flowers at the base of the headstone, recounting the events of the last year.

"Silas, May went to that side, too. You make sure to look after her. I might be joining you all sooner than later," Ben joked self-deprecatingly, though his voice was thick with age.

"Uncle Ben," Peter said, pulling his uncle into a hug. It pained him to see Ben like this.

They wiped their eyes and walked out of the cemetery. The dead couldn't be brought back, but the living had to keep moving forward with hope.

After they left, a spark portal opened.

"Silas..." Misty stared at the headstone, the memories flooding back. She reached out a trembling hand to touch the engraved name. She had been too late. If she had been faster, the Stones wouldn't have been destroyed.

"I'm the Sorcerer Supreme now. The other sorcerers were a bit weak, so I took the position pretty easily."

"Now that I've taken the mantle, I realize how huge the world is. We're just dust in the cosmos."

She spoke to the grave as if Silas were truly listening.

The Passing of Time

The second year passed. Then the third, the fourth...

In the fifth year, Peter and Gwen were married. Every surviving Avenger attended the wedding, offering their most sincere blessings.

After the guests departed, Misty arrived.

"Misty!" Gwen beamed, hugging her friend. "I'm so glad you came! I thought you wouldn't make it."

"Of course I came. You're my sister," Misty said. Her yellow robes vanished as she handed Gwen a gift. "For you."

"Thank you!" Gwen chirped.

Misty then looked at Peter. He understood the look immediately and nudged Gwen's hand. Gwen looked at Peter with concern but obediently took her gift and left the two alone.

"Any progress?" Peter asked urgently.

"I've searched every grimoire in the library. There are countless spells involving time, but most are just theoretical explanations of timelines. The few actual time spells require the Time Stone to function," Misty sighed, shaking her head.

"So there's really no way?" Peter sat down, defeated. For five years, he hadn't given up hope. He had begged Misty to find a magical solution.

"No, Peter. We can't give up. If something as miraculous as the Infinity Stones exists, there must be other ways. They just might not be recorded on Earth. We need to explore the unknown."

"What about your end?" she asked.

While Misty searched for magic, Peter had been trying to build a time machine based on quantum principles, hoping to go back and stop the Snap.

"It's hard. A time machine is nearly impossible because there's no established theory. I've mastered space-warping technology, but time... time is elusive," Peter sighed.

"I believe in us, Peter. I believe in you," Misty said, her yellow robes reappearing. "I have to go. Kamar-Taj needs me."

Peter nodded, and Misty vanished into a portal.

Later that evening, Peter and Gwen began moving into their new home. Peter was upstairs organizing his room while Ben chatted with Gwen downstairs.

"Silas..." Peter looked up at a photo hanging on the wall. It was a collage: a candid shot he took of Gwen, an old family photo, and a portrait of Silas.

Peter set down a box and reached out to take the photo off the wall.

"What is this?" Peter realized that something was taped to the back of the frame.
